THE FRED. OLSEN DIFFERENCE

We don’t have the newest ships. We don’t have zip wires, wave machines or climbing walls. We don’t have celebrity chefs or cocktail mixologists. What we do have is long-serving staff carefully chosen for their friendly, caring, welcoming personalities, ‘real ships’ that are regularly improved so they cater for your every need, cuisine carefully prepared by chefs who care about their craft, not their egos, and – most importantly – a passion to show you the very best of the world. Most cruise lines try to keep you on their ship so you’ll spend more money with them. We encourage you to head off on a journey of discovery, taking in the very best highlights and experiences of each and every destination. There are more places to see in the world than anyone could fit in one lifetime – but at Fred. Olsen we think there’s no harm in trying.

SMALLER BUT SPACIOUS

A smaller ship doesn’t mean less room; far from it. Each cabin has ample space, with an en-suite bathroom and all the facilities you’ll need to enjoy your holiday in comfort. In fact, our rooms are comparable in size to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships – while our vessels are of a more accessible size, you can have just as much private space.

With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly – without the need to fight for space with hordes of people. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds of others – not thousands – giving you a much more authentic experience.

6

AWARD-WINNING CRUISES

We’ll always do our best to give you the holiday of a lifetime – but our guests and travel industry experts are the best judges of how we’re doing. That’s why it’s so pleasing that the dedication and hard work of our staff has been recognised in many awards over the course of the last year.

Most importantly, in over 15,000 reviews from past guests, 95% rated us Excellent or Good, with Feefo awarding us a Gold Trusted Merchant Accreditation – in recognition of our excellence in customer service – for the third year in a row. Perhaps that’s why most people who try us once choose to cruise with us again. There’s never been a better time to get on board with Fred. Olsen.

FOOD YOU’LL FALL IN LOVE WITH

We were very proud to be crowned Britain’s Best Cruise Line for Food in the 2015 Holiday & Cruise TV Awards, reflecting the hard work and careful planning that goes into creating our mouth-watering menus – after all, we know that great dining is one of the things that really makes your holiday memorable. We’re not impressed by celebrity chefs; we just concentrate on quietly getting things right – every meal, every day. After a day seeing the best of the world, our award-winning cuisine is a treat to look forward to, whether you’re selecting sumptuous dishes from our enticing à la carte menu, tucking into a fabulous feast at the buffet, savouring tempting treats with your afternoon tea, or raiding the late-night buffet! Our menus include vegetarian dishes and a range of healthier options too – you may well find it hard to choose!

YOUR CHOICE OF ROOMS & SUITES

When it comes to accommodation, there’s a range of different options, so you can pick what suits you best. An Interior Room has all the creature comforts, while a standard Ocean View Room is great if you want to throw back the curtain and see your new destination each day, or simply admire the beautiful blue sea through your window or porthole. And for a distinctly superior experience, a Suite allows you to indulge in a little more relaxation, with more space so you can really unwind in style. Many Suites come with Suite Dreams benefits too, making your stay even more special. Prices in this brochure are based on the room type shown. For upgrade prices and availability, please visit www.fredolsencruises.com

HEALTH & WELL-BEING

Cruising with Fred. Olsen is all about well-deserved indulgences, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up your usual healthy lifestyle. We have plenty of ways to help you stay in shape, including a gym, swimming pools and fitness classes. You can even walk a mile breathing in the refreshing sea air; aboard Boudicca it’s just five laps of the open deck.

If you would like a little extra pampering, the Atlantis Spa has a delightfully calming atmosphere, with everything from manicures to massages, to refresh and revitalise you. It’s the perfect place to rest those weary legs after all that exploration! All packages and treatments at the Atlantis Spa are payable in addition to your cruise price.

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR TIME ON BOARD

We do our utmost to ensure your experience on board is just as fun, memorable and enriching as your time ashore. By day, you’ll find Bridge classes, arts and crafts lessons and entertaining quizzes, as well as guest speakers giving engrossing lectures on their fields of expertise. Perhaps take the chance to learn a new skill or brush up on a favourite hobby: there are language classes; ballroom dancing lessons; theatre workshops; photography talks; watercolour tutorials; and more. Each cruise is different, so be sure to check out what’s on offer once you’re on board. When day turns to night, enjoy the sparkle of cabaret, comedy and music as the evenings come alive with orchestras, string trios, pianists, musicians, entertainers and shows. Simply sit back and savour it all.

The city has a great advantage, being in close proximity to the mystical Valley of a Thousand Hills, as you can journey to explore a traditional Zulu village. Alternatively, search for big game at the Tala Game Reserve, or tour Durban’s scenic coastline, home to golden beaches, endless fields of sugarcane and the UNESCO-listed Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park. Travel by boat to nearby Seal Island, which is populated by over 2,500 Cape Fur Seals; visit Knysna, South Africa’s

favourite holiday town in the picturesque Garden Route; or cage dive with sharks – a once-in-alifetime experience. Your cruise comes to an end in Cape Town and you’ll get to enjoy almost three days to explore before heading home. There’s plenty that can be ticked off your must-see list, from the stunning scenery at Cape Point and penguins at Boulders Beach, to Table Mountain, the city’s most celebrated landmark. What’s more, you can visit the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens; learn of Nelson Mandela’s inspirational life at Robben Island; or tour the scenic winelands. The next and final stop on your cruise is vivacious Buenos Aires – famous for the Tango, extravagant European-style buildings and, of course, Evita Peron. Start the year in style on this epic exploration of Peru and Polynesia. You’ll have the chance to visit a host of breathtaking destinations, from the Peruvian capital, Lima, to the paradise islands of Bora Bora and Rarotonga. You’ll no doubt be spellbound by these unforgettable sights. Tahiti

Bora Bora

Joining your ship in Callao presents the chance to take a trip to Peru’s beautiful capital, Lima, which is well worth a visit if only to savour Spanish colonial structures and search for souvenirs at the bustling Indian Market. What’s more, if you opt for a pre-cruise holiday extension you can see more of this fascinating region, from the cultural city of Cusco to mesmerising Machu Picchu – one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Then it’s on to General San Martin, where you’ll be perfectly situated for boat tours to the volcanic Ballestas Islands. Often referred to as a mini Galápagos, they boast dramatic scenery and a host of wildlife. There are also plenty of other options to make the most of your visit here. Take a tour to discover the production methods

of the Peruvian brandy, Pisco, or visit the nearby Paracas National Reserve. This protected area of coastal desert is teeming with wildlife, from orcas and sea lions, to flamingos and Blue-Footed Boobies. You’ll then set sail across the Pacific Ocean, passing the remote, uninhabited Isla Salas y Gómez, before stopping at a string of stunning Polynesian islands. In Hanga Roa, don’t miss the chance to see Easter Island’s collection of iconic Moai statues and some of the world’s most interesting archaeological sites; while in Papeete you can explore the towering peaks, tumbling waterfalls and lush valleys of Tahiti. Bora Bora’s exquisite beaches and dreamy turquoise waters then present a slice of paradise, before the dense jungles, picturesque

valleys and sun-kissed sands of Rarotonga show you a world away from home. You may have just got your breath back by the time your ship reaches Auckland. But before you head home, be sure to end your adventure in style with an optional two-night holiday extension in the laid-back ‘City of Sails’, home to the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere – the Sky Tower – and more boats per capita than any other city in the world, earning it its nickname. Explore some of the surrounding attractions during your stay, including the unique Waitomo Glowworm Caves, the charming area of Mission Bay, the boutiques and chic cafés of Ponsonby Road, and laid-back Waiheke Island, where wine tasting is a must.

Start your adventure in one of the world’s most exciting, must-visit modern cities – Sydney. You’ll have the chance to climb the famous Harbour Bridge, tour the majestic Opera House, and explore the Royal Botanical Gardens before heading for the charming sights of Brisbane. Next up is Hamilton Island. One of the 74 Whitsunday Islands it’s superbly situated in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef – which can be explored by catamaran, snorkelling

48

or semi-submersible submarine. A tour to the Whitsunday’s stunning Whitehaven Beach is also not to be missed. Black Watch then takes you on a scenic cruise along the mesmerising Great Barrier Reef, one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Boasting 400 coral varieties, 1,500 species of tropical fish and crystalline blue water, you are sure to be inspired by the views of this spectacular sight. Your final port of call ‘down under’ is Darwin, one of Australia’s mustvisit destinations thanks to its tropical climate, diverse sights and extensive list of attractions to uncover. Whether you choose to wander the city’s pretty streets and charming avenues or head out into the famous Outback, you won’t be

disappointed. You can also discover the history and culture of the Tiwi people on a visit to a modern day Aboriginal community, or go in search of crocodiles in the coastal wetlands. Komodo Island then kicks off the Asian leg of your cruise, and this is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to seek out Komodo Dragons – the largest living species of lizard on earth – on an organised Shore Tour to their natural habitat. Alternatively, visit the Pink Beach, which earned its name from sand that’s tinted by tiny fragments of red coral. Before disembarking your cruise in Port Klang, there’s ample time to see the highlights of Singapore, including the Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay and the iconic Raffles Hotel.

These Terms and Conditions are in addition to Fred. Olsen’s standard Terms and Conditions which are available on our website, www.fredolsencruises.com and on request. Both must be read before booking. Fares are per person, based on twin occupancy of the lead-in room, subject to availability. All bookings are subject to Fred. Olsen’s standard Terms & Conditions, available on our website. Information shown is correct at time of going to press (June 2016) but fares are capacity controlled and may change at any time. Call for latest prices. All offers may be withdrawn or amended at any time without prior notice, cannot be combined, are subject to availability and cannot be applied retrospectively. Cruise descriptions include optional, chargeable experiences that may be enjoyed independently and/or with optional Fred. Olsen Shore Tours. Shore Tours are available to book six weeks prior to departure (subject to availability and service operation). We reserve the right to amend itineraries for operational reasons. Fly-cruise prices include transfers to/from the ship and flights based on Economy class as arranged by FOCL, including APD where applicable. Cruise only fares do not include flights or transfers; guests must make their own arrangements to join the ship. *All Inclusive Upgrade offer covers selected house wines by the glass, selected beers, spirits and soft drinks, subject to availability. Tours, tips, premium drinks, medical facilities and other spend, during travel to the ship and while on board, are not included. Any additional expenditure will need to be paid separately. All Inclusive upgrade is charged at £10 per person, per night on selected cruises in this brochure (£29 per person, per night on D1727 and D1728) and is not available on cruises W170213, D170214, D170242, D170221, W170232 & W170251. All Inclusive Package must be booked at least six days prior to departure and purchased for the full duration of the cruise by all guests on a booking. The All Inclusive drinks package may be purchased on board on all fare types at the appropriate on board supplement. Refer to our website for full Terms and Conditions **Enjoyment Promise is only applicable to guests who have not cruised on a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines (“FOCL”) ship before. It excludes Party Nights and cruises of 4 nights or less. The Promise only applies to bookings made for departures more than 12 weeks ahead. The Enjoyment Promise only applies to passengers who have contracted with FOCL and excludes cruises on vessels operated by FOCL but booked through 3rd Party operators. Should you wish to invoke the Enjoyment Promise, you will need to inform Guest Relations within 48 hours of sailing at the latest. FOCL will arrange and pay for a flight and/or transport back to the UK. FOCL will refund the cruise cost only but will not refund other costs. The £1 per person deposit offer for the second cruise is only applicable to guests on their first FOCL cruise. The second booking must be made on board. You will be required to pay £1 per person deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance of the cruise fare paid 90 days prior to departure. If the booking is cancelled 91 days or more prior to departure, the cancellation fee is £1 per person, replacing the standard 15% cancellation fee. E&OE.
