A CONVERSATION WITH U.S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SONIA SOTOMAYOR

Dear Friends,

Welcome! We are so pleased to see you this evening –our season subscribers, sponsors, donors, ticket buyers, community partners, students, and volunteers. Whether this is your first Forum or your first of many, welcome.

Tonight promises to be a memorable night. For the second time in Forum history, we have the rare and special opportunity to hear directly from a sitting United States Supreme Court Justice.

Justice Sotomayor is an inspiration as a brilliant legal mind who has overcome many barriers to become the first Latina to serve on the Supreme Court. We look forward to hearing Justice Sotomayor talk about her life, career, and the role of the Supreme Court with award-winning journalist and moderator Soledad O’Brien. We hope this Forum inspires you to reflect on and learn more about the Supreme Court and its role in a healthy democracy.

Our Connecticut Forum mission is to encourage the free and active exchange of ideas in forums that inform, challenge, entertain, inspire, and build bridges among all people and organizations in our community.

For 31 years, The CT Forum has enriched the cultural vitality of our community with conversations that bring all of us closer together through open, honest, civil dialogue.

Thank you for being here tonight, and for continuing to make Forums like this possible through your loyal and generous support. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and peaceful holiday season!

Sincerely,

Ruth Cullen Executive Director
