Let’s talk Just Add Magic! Take us back to the beginning; how did you know you wanted to be involved with this show?

I originally tested for a different Amazon show and the producers pulled me aside and told me that there was another new show they thought I would be perfect for. I went straight to testing, which is the last step before you book a show. I mixed and matched with other Darbie’s and Kelly’s and I booked the role of Hannah that day. I really liked the plot of the series and was happy to be a part of it.

What should fans be expecting with these new episodes?

There is an unexpected twist at the end of the season that fans should look out for, as well as other fun mystery and magical recipes throughout the season.

What’s something about set life that fans might be surprised to learn?

On the set of Just Add Magic, I worked Monday- Friday for 9.5 hours each day and I had 3 hours of school that I had to do within that time. Once I turned 16 years old, I added an hour more of work each day.

Overall, what do you hope viewers take away from the show?

I hope viewers enjoy our family-friendly show that demonstrates the true value of friendship. Just Add Magic is a very mysterious and magical show that I hope fans can get lost in and enjoy.

Your new single, “Crossing My Heart” is out now; what’s the story behind the song?

The story behind “Crossing My Heart” came from a sequence of events that has occurred with a guy I have a crush on who keeps crossing paths with me, but we never quite get to meet. Does he even know I exist? Time will tell!

What can you tell us about the creating/ recording process?

It started with a sequence of events that I wrote down and thought would be fun to put into a song. I then sat down with my amazing music producer, Alex Cantrell, and started creating. In the studio, I freestyled different melodies. Once we found what we liked, we brought it all together, creating “Crossing My Heart.”

Should fans be expecting more new music from you this year?

The “Crossing My Heart” storyline plays over a series of songs and videos, so fans should definitely look forward to the rest of the story unfolding and all the puzzle pieces coming together!

What’s the best way for fans to get your attention on social media?

I love connecting with my fans on social media. The best way for them to get my attention is by leaving a kind or humorous comment, doing a cute fan edit, or mentioning my favorite boy group, BTS!

What do you hope to see more of in the TV/film industry?

I hope to see more family-friendly content in the TV/Film industry. One of my favorite things about working on Just Add Magic is being able to create a show that the whole family can enjoy and feel comfortable watching together. I hope that there will be more shows that shine a light on the wholesome side of life.
