Week 4 - 27 October 2015 Handicap: • 40 seconds to C grade • 2 minutes 24 seconds to A grade After 2 washed out weeks, racing was back to its exciting best when 95 riders raced under cloudy and as usual windy conditions. The southerly conditions always make for slightly less demanding conditions and over 60 riders where still in the race for the finale which saw all 3 grades come together literally on the last lap. C grade hit the finishing straight with the narrowest lead but it was just enough enough for Wesley Ho to hold off fast finishing Alex Nazarewicz who completely gapped the A graders. Chris Tune despite his lack of fitness managed to grab 3rd overall and blizted the rest of B grade to complete a unique trifecta of a rider from each grade filling the top 3 places.
Finishing order 1 Wesley Ho (St George) C 2 Alex Nazarewicz (Sydney Uni) A 3 Chris Tune (Sydney Uni) B 4 Adam Fahey (Manly) C 5 Michael Courtney (Sydney) C 6 Sean Couley (North Western) C 7 Ben Elliott (Sydney) C 8 Kurt Menzies (Easts) C 9 Vishesh Malhotra (Sydney Uni) B 10 Allan Sives (Caravello) B 11 Liam Kelly (Caravello) A 12 Darragh Larkin (Easts) B 13 Sam Rutherford (Sydney) A 14 Nash Kent (Lidcombe) A C Grade 1 Wesley Ho (St George) 2 Adam Fahey (Manly) 3 Michael Courtney (Sydney) A Grade 1 Alex Nazarewicz (Sydney Uni) 2 Liam Kelly (Caravello) 3 Sam Rutherford (Sydney) B Grade 1 Chris Tune (Sydney Uni) 2 Vishesh Malhotra (Sydney Uni) 3 Allan Sives (Caravello)

NWSCC Debut @ ESCC Tuesday Night Heffron Park I look forward to a Tuesday, especially my weekly racing fix at the Dragway, Eastern Creek. Unfortunately, Mother Nature hasn’t been kind to us the past few weeks and Marconi CC have cancelled their regular race for safety - the drag strip is like an ice rink in the wet! Never mind, I’ve been waiting to try Tuesday Night racing at Heffron Park for some time now. This is the Summer Racing Series hosted by Eastern Suburbs Cycling Club. For those who are unfamiliar with Sydney’s east, Heffron Park is a large sporting ground located in Maroubra, with a purpose built criterium circuit. Many of the National Road Series riders finished this year’s road season last weekend with the Grafton to Inverell Classic, turning their attention to crit racing. Word
on the street says that Tuesday Night racing brings out the big guns of Sydney cycling! With the rain and showers dissipating in the afternoon, I decided to leave work bound for Maroubra (sans passport!). The wind was brutal - a head wind down the final straight greeted my arrival at the track.
The format of the racing is a 15 lap Handicap
distance in hot pursuit. 2 laps to go, they were
