TUESDAY NIGHT HEFFR C-GRADE SNATCH ANOTHER WIN, ANDREW SPENCER FIRST

Andrew Spencer made up for his 6th place finish last week with a convincing win this week when he lead home a 35 strong C grade field to claim overall line honours in week 7 of Tuesday night racing at Heffron Park. Duncan Ayres was next home a bike length clear in front of a blanket finish which saw C grade podium regular Andrew Hanson nudge out Mark O’Donnell and Raphael Bicard. It was another exciting finale to an action packed race which boasted a solid field of 105 riders on a night of relatively calm (38kph) NE winds. These calmer NE winds normally favour the back backers however with 45 riders lining up in C grade their natural momentum had them lapping at 3 secs faster than normal. The 19 strong A grade field had the usual potent mix of power and speed as their 2.45sec lap times prove, however the only catch they made was the slightly smaller B1 field with 4 laps to go. The B grade spoils were left for the main B grade field to share with Troy Fisher unleashing an impressive finish to claim the envelope from Adam McCoy and Andy Matthews. At the end of 15 laps A grade were short by 20 sec and it was Scott Law who came home first to just in front of Nash Kent who in turn edged out Darcy Ellerm Norton. After 7 weeks of racing the win spoils have now been shared evenly with A grade 3 wins and 2 each for B and C grades. Over 260 riders have raced in this period with 90 riders new to Tuesday night format. “If you can win at Heffron, you can win ......”
