Welcome to the 34th Heffron Park Tuesday Night Racing season. A great turnout of 100 riders, a host of spectators, a media contingent a Pro
Tour event would be proud of and of course the volunteers and officials from Easts Cycling Club who make it possible every week.
Even the Sydney weather Gods came to the party and provided a clear day after the city copped 5 days of continuous rain.
Great to welcome 20 new riders to Tuesday Night Racing and also to see
the return Marcus Enno, Jules Galli, Ben Elliott, Michael Fantin and Andrew Gordon after a few seasons away.
Although the wind wasn’t typical Heffron Park with only a ‘light’ 30kph NE,
the racing was classic Heffron. A grade didn’t quite have the numbers and
firepower to close the race out so it was left to the 50 strong B and C grade bunch to fight for overall honours.
A couple of late moves for a solo win by Tai Hunyh and Robbie Matthews
came to nothing so it was all on for the bunch sprint and in typical Heffron style it was the strength and power of Adam McCoy which prevailed over a fast finishing James Everett and Maarten Holsboer.
Ryan Terry made the best of the comfort of the large bunch and made sure he was the the first C grader onto the straight finishing in front of Antonio Simonelli. The A grade finish was still fast and furious with last season’s Series winner
Alex Nazawericz claiming the first win for his new ‘Crit Dawgs’ squad, edging out Joel Walsh and Darcy Ellerm Nortorn.
Great start to the season, everyone went home happy and here’s to another successful season of Heffron Park Tuesday Night Racing

THE KING of HE ANTHONY SPURGEON
Call him washed up, call him a retiree, just don’t ever
forget that he is THE KING of HEFFRON. No other rider in the history of the world has ridden more laps or won as many races here.....#fact
THE KING rates for us the top 10 place getters of Tuesday Night Heffron Week 1.
4th: Jason THOMAS (Northern Sydney) B. Clever. Let Tai Huynh kill himself on the front, then roll through on the last corner. And forget about those hills. 5th Pedro GOMEZ (Randwick) B1. I don’t know Pedro, so I don’t rate him. Did OK though, for someone who didn’t win. 6th Matt LA BORG (Sydney Uni) B1. If Matt would only eat some food. Sorry that was personal. Should ride stronger next week. After a meal. 7th David JACKSON (Randwick) B. Continuing underperformance for this ageing veteran. Plenty of room for improvement.
EFFRON CALLS IT 1st: Adam McCOY (Manning Valley) B1. Country boy eh? Welcome to A-Grade and the Pro Tour son. You’re bound to fit in well with those slow talkers. 2nd: James EVERETT (Parklife) B1. Parklife? Is that some sort of Westie “Club”? Ride it like you stole it Jim...you probably did. 3rd: Maarten HOLSBOER (Manning Valley) B1. Nowhere to hide in the big smoke next week with your mate now in A-Grade.
8th: Tim CLARSEN (Manly) B. These guys from Manly. They should race better if they weren’t carrying so much ‘North Shore’ ego on their backs. I expected better. 9th Niall WOAN (Sutherland) B1. Up Up Cronulla.....Just like the team, you need to refocus for the future. 10th: Conor TARLINGTON (Bici Sport) B1. After a long spell on the back, I would expect more of the same next week.
