BAR HEADER WELCOME

From the

Editor Matt Everatt F.O.T.A

l

Welcome to your April edition of The Dental Technician Magazine. Spring appears to be here and we have already enjoyed some warmer days towards the end of March, and the clocks have now done their one hour jump forwards, teasing us with longer warmer evenings to come. It is a really crazy time in general, fuel prices rocketing, utility bills on the increase, cost of living is on the rise and we have the awful war in Ukraine. I hope for a more settled summer ahead. With the increase in costs rising and the compulsory increase of the minimum wage, this will inevitably have an effect on our laboratories. Many already talking of increasing their prices, many saying a 10% increase is on the cards, whilst some saying they increased their prices already this year and will increase again in April. I do hope that the price increases will go some way towards bridging the historical pay gap between Dental Technicians and other Dental Professionals. Last week I booked my tickets and registered to attend the BDIA Dental Showcase at the London ExCel. Bizarrely, I felt quite excited at the anticipation of attending this event. It was to be the first visit to a Dental Show in well over two years. The journey to the show was uneventful, although I do find the journey to ExCel always a bit drawn out with too many station changes from overground, underground and eventually DLR. I arrived, I made it, I was one of the first few to arrive. I wanted to get there early to see as many of the stands whilst it was quiet. It was a smaller than normal Showcase, to be expected I guess. Saw lots of familiar faces, some of which had changed their team colour and were wearing different branded polo shirts and standing on different stands to when I last saw them. I spoke to a friend who had changed her job three times during the pandemic due to companies folding or changing their strategies to have less people in sales roles.

6 APRIL 2022.indd 6

The BDIA was never really a wellrepresented event for Dental Labs and Technicians and this year there appeared to be even less for us Technicians. There were the larger companies such as Henry Schein who had a dedicated laboratory section, I did stop by and had a good chat with Hamad Tariq about Digital Technology. I ended up doing an interview with him as he was so enthusiastic about Dental Technology and what exciting things are available to us. You can read that interview later. There were plenty of opportunities to brush up on CPD with lots of live lecture theatres scattered around the show, although I didn’t personally attend any, I suspect there were some great speakers on. Education of technicians is still a popular topic of conversation on the DTGB Facebook group, I am particularly interested to hear about the state of education around the UK as I am still a visiting lecturer at Sheffield College. I have a new found appreciation for colleges and lecturers. There are so many hoops that institutions and lecturers have to jump through in order to deliver a registrable qualification, it almost gets in the way of delivering the teaching, it really isn’t straight forward and the previous two pandemic years have taken their toll on all involved. I must say, the hardest part of my week is lecturing at College, as enjoyable as it is. I would be keen to hear from any of you who are currently sending students to colleges or universities, or you may be attending yourself. Please tell me how things are, I would be really keen to get a few different perspectives on the current state of education for Technicians in the UK. Letters To The Editor I want to make another plea for your letters. Is there a burning issue you want to get out there, or maybe you don’t like something we published, or you love something we have published? Please get in touch and let us know. If you would like to get in touch, please email me; editor@dentaltechnician.org.uk Best Wishes Matt Everatt FOTA

BUSINESS

TIME TO SPECIALISE DENTAL TECHNOLOGY STUDENT (Part 2 of 10) By Richard T Lishman I Managing Director of the

4dentists Group of companies Award-winning Founder of The IFA’s - a specialist firm of Independent Financial Advisers that provides guidance and advice for some of the wealthiest individuals in the UK and around the globe, heads this series of editorials for lab technicians

I

n the first editorial of our lab technician series, our character, Bridget Crown, left university and took her first steps into a career as a dental lab technician. Part two looks at what happens when she decides to become a specialist and what this will mean for her finances. Choosing a specialism Let’s assume that Bridget Crown has been working successfully in a dental laboratory for a number of years now. She’s mastered the tricks of the trade, built an amazing repertoire of skills and has become a valued member of the team. But what’s next? With so many avenues available for dental lab technicians, Bridget now needs to decide which area she’d like to specialise in. She can choose to become an orthodontic technician that focuses mainly on creating orthodontic appliances or she could instead opt to become a conservation technician and channel her skills towards creating crowns and bridgework. If neither of these options appeal, she could choose to become a prosthodontic technician and specialise in dentures, or even go more niche and become a maxillo-facial prosthetics technician and help reconstruct facial features of those who have had invasive surgery, injury or disease. So, let’s imagine that Bridget has a passion for orthodontics and wants to become an orthodontic technician. Her initial move will be to complete the advanced qualifications needed and receive the necessary extra training to ensure that she has the skills and the qualifications for this new career direction.

12 APRIL 2022.indd 12

The challenges and opportunities of change Both training and advanced qualifications can be expensive, so depending on the current salary that Bridget is earning (which may have increased since she started due to more experience) and other factors such as her current lifestyle commitments, remaining student loan etc. Bridget may consider taking out a loan or finding some external funding. A loan, in particular, will have a significant impact on personal finances depending on the amount. Bridget will need advice about the best sort of loan for her, taking into consideration her current income, ability to repay money borrowed and the available interest rates. Of course, specialising may also lead to Bridget moving to a new place of work if her current position can’t utilise her new skills. This will mean scouting for more niche positions and, ultimately, maybe even result in a house move again if she wants to secure a position and there are none in a commutable distance. There are bright sides however, and once Bridget becomes a specialist, it’s likely that she will be earning a bit more, though this will depend on whether she chooses an NHS position or a private lab role. Currently, the average salary for an orthodontic technician in the UK seems to be around £50-65ki, though there is limited data, and some other sources suggest that these roles could be around the £33k mark instead.ii Adjusting to a new lifestyle Depending on the salary agreed in whatever new position Bridget finds, she could find herself with some considerable extra income. As such, this may be a good opportunity for her to pay off some of her student loan so that she has less debt, or even make big life steps such as saving up to buy a house. Her student loan repayments will begin/

increase according to her new salary and the repayment requirements. As such, let’s imagine that Bridget saved up for training and further qualifications, specialised, and is now earning £45k. This means that she will definitely be repaying her student loan each month – though luckily this will automatically be applied when her pay is calculated. Bridget could also take this opportunity to think about protecting her new income. Although this was mentioned in the last entry to this series, now she’s earning more, Income Protection is likely to be a much more relevant option for her to consider, especially if she has chosen to save up for a property or pay off more of her student loan. She will also now have to consider new tax rates in her financial plans. The IFA’s are here to help individuals with any questions they have about taking a step towards specialising and some of the financial challenges this may incur. Of course, everyone’s journey will be different, and depending on how technicians specialise, whether they need to move to a new lab, what their salary is and all manner of other variables, the figures mentioned in this article will change. But what about saving on tax? Make sure you read the next instalment to see how Bridget can make use of some tax reduction tips… For more information, please call 0845 345 5060 or 0754 336 8478 or visit www.theifas.com REFERENCES i

INSIGHT

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP SERIES

The Art of

LISTENING By Nicki Rowland

18 APRIL 2022.indd 18

www.dentaltechnician.org.uk 06/04/2022 15:35

INSIGHT

In last month’s edition, Nicki Rowland, Director of the Exceptional Leadership Academy (ELA), explored the power of collaboration within your team and business. In this article, she discusses why listening is an art that every successful business leader should embrace and encourage. BE A YARDSTICK FOR EXCELLENCE

As a leader, your role is to inspire your people to work collaboratively and move smoothly towards a common goal. The title of ‘boss’ simply implies power over others. To be a true leader, you need to be a ‘yardstick’ of excellence and motivate your team through your actions and words – or less words, as the case may be. Your people look to you for guidance and support, and when they trust that you will deliver what you say ‘on the tin’, their commitment will follow. Great leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr, could articulate a crystal-clear vision that was almost tangible. His ‘I Have a Dream’ speech is a perfect example. Through his words, actions and beliefs, he guided his people to achieve his vision. However, to truly inspire people, you need to understand their needs and wants as well as your own. This is where the art of listening comes into its own.

USE EMPATHETIC LISTENING

You will have heard the phrase…’We have been gifted with two ears and one mouth and, as a leader, should use them in that proportion’. Listening is a vital leadership skill. Attentive listening should be the level that we should all aspire to achieve. Attentive listening is where the listener gives their undivided attention to the communicator and demonstrates a sound understanding as to what has been said by summarising the conversation. However, if you really want to make an impact on people around you, implement ‘empathetic’ listening. Empathetic listening is all about the ‘Feel, Felt, Found’ approach. A conversation could go something like this... Team member: ‘I’m really anxious about coming back to work post Covid because of the new Standard Operating Procedures in dental practices. I’m unsure how this applies to what we do in our lab.’ Laboratory Principal: ‘I understand how you feel. When I was sat at home thinking about it, I felt anxious too. What I found was that when I had a full understanding and began implementing the changes that the fear factor evaporated. Thinking about it was much

worse than the doing. Don’t worry, we will go over all the changes and their implications with the whole team’. Team member: ‘That’s reassuring. I feel a bit better now. Thank you!’ Openness and transparency are key elements of great leadership. As I have said before, leaders do not necessarily have all the answers. It is so important for you to understand that you do not need to be ‘The Oracle’ and that looking to your team to support you in finding solutions is the best policy. It is even more important to recognise this as we go back into practice following the COVID-19 lockdown. The human default is for leaders to clamp down on the information shared in practice in the hope of minimising the risk of getting things wrong. However, this can backfire and create a culture of low trust and resentment. For laboratories to thrive, we need to learn how to generate trust and openness to gain commitment from our teams and drive our laboratories to the next level.

BE PASSIONATE

Enthusiasm lifts your team and raises morale so is a critical element of being an inspirational leader. Work becomes a meaningless task for your people if you appear blasé about the whole thing. If you do not live and breathe your purpose and mission, your team will not either. Keep your vision in the forefront of your mind and your passion tangible. It will remind your team about the ‘why’ of their work and elevate productivity. Your passion is infectious and eventually leads to total ‘buy-in’ and commitment from your team with a long-term impact of overall success. As Sam Walton, founder of Walmart says ‘If you love your work, you’ll be out there trying to do it the best you possible can and pretty soon everybody around you will catch the passion from you - like a fever’.

BUILD TRUST

As leaders, we need to avoid authoritarian expressions in the pursuit of our passion and not claim to have all the answers. We need to balance passion with openness and

www.dentaltechnician.org.uk APRIL 2022.indd 19

candour and ask our teams for their ideas and opinions. It is all about adopting a growth mind-set and demonstrating our vulnerability as a leader. Just as a coach might share their experiences and challenges during training as a young athlete with their team, we need to disclose how we have felt and feel. It allows everyone to sing from the same hymn sheet and nurtures trust in the workplace. Let’s address vulnerability-based trust a little further. This type of trust allows you to take risks, ask for support, own up to mistakes and confront your team members without fear of payback or resentment. It allows you all to be vulnerable with one another. It is Patrick Lencioni, author and a pioneer for organisational health, who talks in depth about this concept. Patrick says, “Trust lies at the heart of a great team, and a leader must set the stage for that trust by being genuinely vulnerable with his or her team members

CREATE A ’CIRCLE OF SAFETY’

We can generate a circle of safety by first treating our people in the way in which we would like to be treated, as human beings. Give them a sense of belonging, a shared purpose, some autonomy and most of all, care for them. We are all human beings and need to feel needed, wanted and appreciated to feel safe. A coach needs to understand how their runners are feeling physically during training but also how they are feeling psychologically about the challenge and up and coming events. In the same way, we need to open up on an emotional level to our teams so we can match our support to their physical, emotional and mental requirements. When we do, trust, commitment and loyalty grow organically.

In the fifth of Nicki’s articles, she will be discussing the need to be a ‘Futurist’ who adopts a modern leadership style. In the meantime, if you need any support from Nicki in relation to business development, leadership and the management of your laboratory, contact her at nicki@ela.team

The specially developed multi concept changes the mechanical and light-optical properties of the material in a smooth gradient from cervical to incisal. The

high-quality production process provides tension-free sintering and high accuracy of fit even with long-span restorations. NexxZr+ Multi – natural esthetic. efficient process. NexxZr+ Multi is a dental multilayer zirconium oxide (4Y-TZP cervical, 5Y-TZP incisal) with natural color and translucency gradient and high flexural strength (880 MPa cervical, 630 MPa incisal). These properties enable the fabrication of highly esthetic, monolithic single-tooth and bridge restorations in the anterior and posterior region. The specially adjusted translucency gradient ensures good coverage in the cervical area and increased translucency in the incisal area. The integrated color gradient also ensures the efficient fabrication of naturallooking restorations. The ease of milling allows for particularly easy processing due to the low vickers hardness in the green state. This means less wear for the tools and less stress on the machine. Thanks to the innovative manufacturing process and the unique powder processing, the edge stability during the milling process is ensured.

In addition, each NexxZr zirconia can be individualized with Coloring Liquids prior to sintering. The zirconia discs are offered in four different geometries, suiting most of the leading CAD/CAM systems. Using NexxZr Tools enables dental Labs high quality milling results – available in U (uncoated) and D (diamond-coated) for 6 different CAD/CAM machines:

premium carbide with an ultra-hard, nanocrystalline diamond coating. NexxZr Tool D are high-performance dental milling tools made of premium carbide with an ultra-hard, nanocrystalline diamond coating for an extremely long service life. The special microgeometry of the cutting edges is excellently adjusted to milling zirconium oxide and permits detailed milling results with a high surface quality. The optimized chip space design as well as the improved chip space surfaces ensure the best possible evacuation of the chips, which additionally reduces the chipping risk of zirconium oxide.

OTHER TOP PRODUCTS: PMMA Disc Multi – efficient. temporaries. PMMA Disc Multi consists of a highly cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) with integrated shade gradient for the efficient fabrication of temporary full-contour crowns and bridges for the anterior and posterior region. The industrial production process for the discs results in a minimal residual monomer content and excellent biocompatibility. In addition to the high fracture resistance, the material features excellent milling behavior as well as good polishing properties. The outstanding shade stability and the multi-layer technology used permit trueto-nature esthetic results. WAX Disc – digital wax-up. press & cast. WAX Disc is a synthetic wax disc for the CAD/CAM fabrication of wax objects for the press and casting techniques. The optimum melting point of 100–120°C imparts the material with excellent machining properties and permits subsequent manual adjustments or supplements. The milled restorations show very good stability of shape, surface quality and accuracy of fit and fire without leaving residue during the preheating process. The results are smooth, accurately fitting, pressed and cast objects. NexxZr Glaze Spray – Effective glazing. Efficient processing. NexxZr Glaze Spray is a spray glaze made of extremely high-strength lithium silicate glass-ceramic for the finalization of monolithic zirconium oxide restorations. The optimal size of the glass particles as well as the

finely adjusted spray nozzle enable a light, even and very thin application of the material. Already one thin layer provides for a high adhesive bond to zirconium oxide and results in a smooth, homogeneous surface – preserving even the most intricate surface details. The antagonist-friendly wear characteristics of the lithium silicate glass-ceramic provide a long-lasting protection for high-stress areas (e.g. contact points).

LECTURE TOUR IN IN SOUTH EAST ENGLAND FROM MAY 16-18 FULL ARCHES ON IMPLANTS: ONE CASE, MANY SOLUTIONS

D

T Alexander Lichtmannegger will lecture about different solutions to produce aesthetic full arches on implants, showing workflows with bars, titanium bases, the new K80 ASC titanium bases and innovative working techniques, such as the Double Screw Metal and the Bartplatte After the success of the first tour in Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester, the worldwide dental company Zirkonzahn will be lecturing in South Est England from May 16-18, presenting new and smart possibilities for manufacturing functional and aesthetic full arches on implants. During the 2-hour conference, the lecturer – DT Alexander Lichtmannegger, CAD/ CAM expert and member of the R&D team at Zirkonzahn – will show the participants different workflows to treat complex cases. Alexander will demonstrate how effective the use of their design software, materials and implant prosthetic components combine to allow the dental technician achieve a successful and well-coordinated workflow. Dental technicians and dentists will gain insight into different ways of treating cases on implants with different protocols: • bars or titanium bases, including the new K80 Angled Screw Channels (ASC) titanium bases, with adjustable height and access channel (0°-30°); • the Double Screw Metal technique, for aesthetic restorations in case of divergent implants; • the Bartplatte, a special design-specific bar ideal for treating cases with palatalinclined implants. Participation is free of charge, but the registration is obligatory. DTS 2022 PREVIEW

COMPANY PROFILE: RDT TECHNOLOGY LTD that UK dentists and patients demand. This is despite the increased “copy products” that have been introduced into the flexible denture market over this period.

Flexibility Is Our Strength

l RDT Technology Ltd was formed in 2005 to promote and sell the Valplast Flexible Partial Denture system originating from Valplast International Corp, USA. RDT’s technical director’s relationship with Valplast International Corp came about after many years of attending and lecturing at various international dental shows. During this time, he was offered many different products from various companies to market and sell within the UK, all purporting to be the next best thing in dentistry. However, in his view they never seemed that unique or interesting and in most cases they seemed to be just another “me too” product.

RDT have a small purpose built training laboratory at their Sussex offices where compulsory hands-on training courses are run at the convenience of the trainee and instruction on the fabrication of Valplast flexible partial dentures. Unlike any other flexible partial denture material, Valplast is fully traceable back to source and comes with a serialised/registered guarantee certificate. All laboratories that process Valplast flexible partial dentures must have a certified Valplast technician that has taken part and past Valplast internationals certification programme. RDT is committed to ensuring that Valplast flexible partial dentures are produced in the UK and only by Valplast trained and certified laboratories.

In 2004 he was introduced to Valplast Flexible Partial Dentures which straight away took his interest. After almost a year of investigation and discussions with other technicians in the UK and Valplast, he decided to undergo training to fully understand the product. He was invited to spend two weeks training at Valplast’s production dental laboratory in New York working alongside the inventor of flexible partial dentures (Arpad Nagy). “It was a true inspiration working alongside someone that had worked 77 years at the bench and was still passionate about dentistry”(at 91 years old). RDT were surprised to find that Valplast did not have a supplier within the UK. Valplast’s president explained that they were very cautious when picking their partners around the world. Preferring to work with small, independent companies who would give their full backing and assistance to train and support dental technicians and dentists on how to correctly fabricate and fit Valplast flexible partial dentures. Valplast flexible

partial dentures are not just a single product but more a complete system so require a dedicated team of trainers and a support network to ensure the correct training and on-going support and assistance. Over the last sixteen years RDT have worked closely with some of the best Valplast technicians in the UK helping to establish Valplast as the premium brand

RDT work to the highest standards offering the best service and quality to its customers. This includes their commitment to meeting customer and regulatory requirements by maintaining an effective quality management system, ISO 13485:2016 and compliance with the UK Medical Devices Regulations. RDT are very much looking forward after over two years of no dental technician exhibitions in the UK, to finally seeing the lab owners and technicians face to face again at the DTS, Dental Technology Showcase, NEC in May 2022. If you needed another reason to attend the DTS this year please take the time to visit RDT’s stand, H01, where the all-new Hydraulic Press for Valplast Flexible Partial Dentures will be showcased. Come and see for yourself the benefits to your lab and technicians by upgrading to this great press. Key benefits and features include; • Consistent Speed & Force, Every Time • Reliable Injections Saving Time & Costs • Simple to Use - One Button Operation • No Operator Fatigue • No Air Compressor Required • Only requires a regular Mains Power Supply • Small Footprint - Less Bench Space Required • Compatible with 22mm/25mm Cartridges • Low Maintenance • Made in the UK For more information pleae call 01903 700037 or email lucy@valplast.info

DTS 2022

DTS 2022:

“AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET UP, LEARN NEW THINGS AND RECONNECT”

l

The Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) 2022 will welcome hundreds of professionals from the dental lab community, presented in partnership with the DLA. President of the DLA, Steve Campbell, comments: “It is my belief that it is of the utmost importance that as UK dental labs you keep up to date with the latest news, products and services on offer in the profession. “One of the easiest ways of doing

this annually is, of course, DTS. Hosting a range of CPD, all of the latest equipment and materials, and expert advice all available in one place, DTS is a massive saver both in terms of time and money. Not only this, but it means that when providing care and information to clients, you can be confident that your opinions and advice is based on the latest available information. “It’s also a great way to meet up with fellow DLA members, whether they be old friends or new ones in

the making, particularly after the past two years. Face to face meet ups at events like DTS are something we have all missed, and as well as being fantastic socially, they can also really add value to your business. I’ve received some amazing advice and tips from my peers over the years, and hopefully I’ve given some as well! “No matter why you are visiting DTS, I sincerely hope you enjoy the show. Come and visit the DLA team in the Association Membership Lounge to say hi!”

Is your milling partner the best one for you? l Béatrice Robichaud – CoFounder and VP of Marketing & Customer Experience at Panthera Dental – will be one of several highly-esteemed speakers in the DTS Lecture Theatre at the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) 2022, presenting “Masters of Milling”. She comments: “Milling centres are everywhere and they offer many types of products. However, no one has the chance to truly understand if a milling partner is really offering the best outcome for their business and their patients.

34 APRIL 2022.indd 34

“The objective of my lectures is to give attendees tools to think by themselves and come to their own conclusions about the milling centres they work with. I hope they gain skills and confidence to effectively assess if a milling centre is responsible and uses the best equipment for the best outcomes, and make sure they get good value for their money. “This is my first time at the show and I aim to bring something never before heard or seen. I also always try to create fun and interactive content that delegates will remember and talk about once out of the lecture.”

The DTS Lecture Theatre at the Dental Technology Showcase (DTS) 2022 will present an array of lectures covering a broad spectrum of topics for the entire lab team. Dr Stefan Goniszewski, CEO of GKA Innovation, will be discussing “Crowns to cash – how does government funding and R&D tax credits apply to the dental industry?” About his session, he says: “My lecture will help delegates to unlock money that many don’t realise they are eligible for. I hope to help dispel some of the misconceptions that currently

exist regarding funding avenues, including R&D tax relief opportunities. As such, delegates should gain an understanding of what the government offers to help companies who are seeking to advance their products and services, as well as how it applies to and may be beneficial for them. The talk will truly help companies get a financial kick -start to aid recovery from the Covid-19 downturn.” DTS is completely free for delegates to attend – register for your place online today!

Putting the spotlight on digital at DTS l Dr Douglas Watt will be presenting “An overview of digital workflows in general practice” as part of the NEW Digital Dentistry Acceleration Forum at DTS 2022. About his session he says:

“I think digital dentistry is important to get involved with now as it’s no longer ‘the future’ of dentistry but a current reality that improves outcomes for both patients and the dental team. “I hope that delegates attending my

session will gain an understanding of how accessible and feasible digital dentistry is for daily workflows. I also hope delegates will take away some new knowledge of digital workflows and how these can be utilised in all areas of dentistry.

“I would encourage people to attend my session and the event in order to see what is possible with current technologies in dentistry and how these can make your working day easier and more enjoyable!”

The next Dental Technology Showcase will be held on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May 2022, Birmingham NEC, co-located with British Dental

WORK SMART WITH VINTAGE ART: THE UNIVERSAL STAIN AND GLAZE SYSTEM BY SHOFU The new powder stains are much finer than previous powders and therefore denser. This results in vibrant colours with good opacity. A higher glass load in the powder further increases the strength of the bond created between the stain and the underlying monolithic restoration during sintering.

Vintage Art Universal provides groundbreaking options for 2D and 3D characterisation of monolithic restorations w Until now, dental technicians had to accept that the high strength of monolithic crowns and bridges made of zirconia or lithium disilicate comes with the downside of suboptimal aesthetic results. The Vintage Art Universal Stain and Glaze System by SHOFU is designed to solve this problem; it can be used on absolutely all dental ceramics and substantially expands the range of creative options. Vintage Art Universal Liquid allows technicians to traditionally stain and glaze the surfaces of layered ceramic restorations (2D staining technique), with or without fluorescence, depending on the substrate. Yamamoto True Color Mixing Liquid brings out the best in Shofu’s stains and glazes: When mixed with this special liquid, the materials create the illusion of spatial depth even on monolithic restorations (3D staining

technique). What is more: Thanks to the glasslike refractive index of Yamamoto Liquid, users already see during the mixing and application steps what the final colour and translucency will look like after firing.

Vintage Art Universal is ideal for any dental laboratory fabricating or processing full or partial-contour monolithic CAD/CAM restorations. The system can be used by both ambitious beginners, who need to achieve good results when pressed for time in their daily work, and experienced professionals, whose customised restorations should satisfy even experts. SAGEMAX PRESSCERAMIC w On 4. 4. Sagemax starts with the entry into the press technology. The new product range includes lithium disilicate press ingots in 16 A-D and 4 Bleach shades for the fabrication of highly esthetic all-ceramic restorations via the traditional press technique. Users can choose between a total of 4 translucency levels (HT, MT, LT and MO) and Opal press ingots: Opal (1, 2) HT (BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4, D2, D3, D4) l MT (BL2, BL3, BL4, A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, B2, C1, C2, D2) l LT (BL1, BL2, BL3, BL4, A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4, D2, D3, D4) l MO (0, 1, 2, 3, 4) l l

The high flexural strength (470 MPa) enables a wide range of indications and provides safety for three-unit bridges up to the second premolar. The excellent flow properties allow even thin veneers with high stability. The natural opalescence and translucency ensure optimal integration with the surrounding tooth structure "chameleon effect".
