COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

OFF THE SHELF RESOURCES

The water course of the Salt River, through its channelization, has completely lost touch with the natural eco-system that once existed there. As an artificial landscape, -This thesis posits that a new type of public space emerge from energy and ecological parameter – one that does not seek to revitalize the existing ecological conditions, but rather seeks to amplify the potential they possess as peculiar and fascinating urban conditions The result of the Water Think[Tank] research helped me arrive to define that, “Ecological urbanism must provide the necessary and emancipatory infrastructures for an alternative form of urbanism, one that brings together the benefits of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to urban planning.
