BREAKING BOUNDARIES The Herberger Cultural Center is the Institute’s tool to sharing an engaging and connected environment with the rest of the ASU community. This proposal focuses on embracing the fluidity of the mall by bringing the activity of the project into the site. The final result is a building that ceates an identifyable, yet subtle, relaxed environment. LEFT: The Site Location is towards the southern end of Forest Mall on ASU campus. The surrounding buildings include Teacher’s College and the Dog House restaurant. TOP RIGHT: Circulation study at 3:00pm. There is a high concentration of people moving from the North end of the mall to the MU. Hardly ever do students stop at the site itself. BOTTOM RIGHT: Parti Diagram/Design Concept: Expanding the project activity into the mall.
