Change Your Thinking, Lose the Weight!!
Are you frustrated with your attempts to lose weight? Are you tired of criticizing yourself for being overweight?
Learn to take control today! It’s that time of year again where we frantically go on a diet to get into that little black dress for the Christmas parties or will be a plan for the new year! I know the feeling too well with spending the past 20 years yoyo dieting always seeking comfort in food to deal with emotions. This in the end didn’t do me any good and ended up with gaining more weight…know the feeling? What changed? I started reading the book by Louise Hay ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ and started looking at different areas of my life…family, relationships, work, financial and health. This helped me to establish where my eating habits came from and in turn learning to deal with those emotions in a different way instead of turning to food. I now use my personal experience to help people to achieve the same result using different tools. How do I do this? I run a weight loss programme that teaches you the skills you REALLY need for achieving and maintaining your ideal weight. In this powerful conscious approach to weight loss you can learn: The first step to take for success The vital questions to ask when you assess your eating habits How to make small changes that lead to big changes over time The mental skills for success with weight loss Visualizations for helping you achieve your goals weight loss Emotional & spiritual skills you need for achieving the healthy body you want How to create a unique food & exercise plan to fit your lifestyle This course includes a 20 page growth book with insightful exercises to help you discover the real causes for your eating patterns. BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION
RAILWAY SLEEPERS: Railway sleepers are
commonly used to create informal steps in gardens or to build raised flowerbeds and borders. However they can be very effective in retaining slipped banks or for the design of small retaining walls. Many properties in Spain are on land that is inaccessible due to it being on steep slopes. A railway sleeper wall system is a relatively inexpensive solution, which allows the landowner to access previously inaccessible space. This system also helps to create terraced slopes, offering a cheaper alternative to conventional walling. Because railway sleeper walls can be buried beneath the earth, landscape architects are afforded greater flexibility in the design of terraced banks. These newly created spaces can be made accessible via paths and stairs and can also be populated with trees and plants to assist in stabilising the bank. Drainage - using aggregates behind the wall and drainage pipes at the base - is a vital component of any sleeper wall system. The longevity of this system has been proven time and time again. Even when the wooden sleepers have disintegrated, the concrete foundation and the effective drainage mechanisms remain intact. LT Construction would be pleased to conduct a survey of your land and to suggest ways of making it more usable, accessible and visually appealing. MALAGA CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The Christmas lights in Malaga centre as spectacular, and well worth a trip to experience them as many thousands of visitors do each year. Heavily criticised in the past for over spending, comparing Malaga's Christmas light budget to that of Seville, the Major argues that the lights bring in considerable business to the City. If you know Malaga or feel adventurous you can get great views by car and maybe find a space in one of the many huge public car parks around the Puerto Area. Or take the bus along the Costa route, get off at the Puerto and stroll around heading for Calle Larios. Take in some Christmas shopping or a special drink in one of the many excellent bars and restaurants. Another great reason to visit the Malaga area over the Christmas period is to see the Verdiales Festival on December 28th. Performers compete for the winner's crown with displays of Verdiales flamenco traditional folk dance in elaborate costumes. Historically it takes place at Puerto de la Torre (a district of Malaga 15mins drive from city centre) on the A7075 road to AlmogĂa.

THE SPANISH TAX AUTHORITY IS NOW TAKING UNPAID TAXES DIRECTLY FROM BANK ACCOUNTS. In the Tax Year 2013, Spanish Tax Authority is serving notifications to property owners in Spain warning them that there is no record about their filing of any tax return, whether they are considered to be Resident or Non-Resident for tax purposes. Some owners of properties located in Spain have found seizures of their bank accounts due to taxes pending to be paid. We advise you to check with your tax advisor if you are properly paying your Nonresident taxes or in the event that you are a fiscal resident in Spain, you should declare taxes in Spain for your worldwide income. THE TRUTH ABOUT NAILS With the Christmas season on the way everyone wants beautiful looking nails. However, you have probably heard many myths and rumours about artificial nails ruining your own. This will not happen if they are applied properly by a fully qualified nail technician and using top quality products. After care is also very important, you must use a vitamin nail oil to nourish and condition the nail bed and never pick or bite the product off as this will remove layers of the natural nail. Always use a reputable salon where hygiene is top priority to avoid infections. If you have normal nails or are prone to chips and smudges in your polish, then a long lasting gel manicure is what you need. This procedure includes a regular manicure but the normal polish is replaced with a gel one, which sets under a UV or LED lamp. It is applied thinly and dries within seconds. The gel comes in a variety of colours or classic French manicure. It can be applied to both hands and feet lasing up to 3 weeks. If you have very weak, thin or bitten nails then gel or acrylic will greatly enhance their appearance. They can be applied as overlays over your own nails or as extensions to lengthen them. They both have the same high shine finish and can be natural, French or coloured. Gels and acrylics can also be applied to both hands and feet which last approximately 3 weeks before they need infilling.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE USING LINKEDIN If you are a business professional or an entrepreneur then using LinkedIn is definitely for you. I’ve used LinkedIn for some time and find it helpful for me and my business. Here are my top 5 reasons why I think you can’t afford to ignore it1. ESTABLISH YOUR CREDIBILITY This is the place where you can host your CV online and create a compelling profile of who you are, what you are about and what you have done. When you meet people in networking events they will check you out online. Make sure you that the good first impression that you made is sustained. How can you do this? a. Create a good online profile using keywords about your passions and industry experience. b. Upload your CV to show you have nothing to hide and are being open. c. Ask for recommendations from Colleagues, Partners, Employers or Customers and show them on your profile. d. Upload relevant videos, presentations or documents that strengthen your profile
2. BE IN THE KNOW Follow people or topics you’re interested in or which are relevant to your industry. Rather than having to sift through meaningless twitter chatter, you will be presented with interesting article from people that you trust and about topics that are important
to you or your work. Keep an eye on this news area and you’ll soon see trends emerging. You can also find articles here that you can share with your contacts as part of keeping yourself on their radar. 3. KEEPING VISIBLE It’s easy to get forgotten by our network of contacts when we are too busy to go to the networking events or keep up regular email contact. LinkedIn provides some nice ways to keep visible without being too much in people’s faces. a. Add status messages updating people about events you’re attending or your thoughts on current subjects. b. Comment on or like other people’s statuses. c. Ask questions in groups or answer questions if the topic is your area of expertise. d. Set up a company page for your business. 4. FIND EXPERTS, JOBS, EMPLOYEES
OR CLIENTS
LinkedIn has an advanced searching tool to help you locate people you want to connect with. Use it to find professionals in specific locations, industries or with specialist skills.
5. UTILISE YOUR NETWORK Although it’s clear that you can import contacts from your email lists directly into LinkedIn, what is equally important but not as obvious is that you can export them too. This means you can use this data for your offline marketing as well should you need to. This isn’t possible with Facebook connections. The advantage of maintaining your list in LinkedIn is that the contact details are more likely to be up-to-date than any offline list you have gathered elsewhere. To expand your network you can do the following: a. Search for people you know by name, company, education or location. b. Join relevant groups and connect to other members there. c. Ask to be introduced to new contacts by your existing connections. Also, LinkedIn will give you a good excuse to contact someone by informing you if they have moved to a new job. LA “FIESTA DE LAS MIGAS “
La “Fiesta de las Migas” en Torrox I am so glad, being a proud Torroxeña, that the last fiesta of this year is coming from Torrox - not only having the best climate in Europe but also one of the largest culinary events in Spain. This holiday has been declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalucía. This literally translates as 'The Feast of Crumbs" or as I always call it the Breadcrumb Party! This celebration takes place in Torrox Pueblo every year, on the Sunday before Christmas. Migas is a traditional local dish which is made from some very basic, cheap and rather tasty ingredients: oil, garlic, water, semolina flour and salt - it is then fried and served with 'arriera salad' (cod, olives, onions, oranges and oil) - tons of it! Thousands of people come to the village, reportedly around 40,000, to take part in this fiesta and eat their way through masses of Migas. Migueros prepare and cook their tasty dish in areas next to the Mercadillo de la Almazara which is at the free car park which used to hold the Monday market, and also around In the main Plaza too. There is very loud music (shock! horror! No way!) lots of dancing and gallons of locally produced sweet wine, honey, raisins, figs, and of course... the churros. It is a great family day out - no matter how chilly or windy it is - everyone turns out for this culinary party - and it's a great atmosphere. It is literally the ultimo fiesta - and it really goes off with a bang! http://www.torrox.es/

GIG GUIDE & MUSIC
MUSIC SCENE COOL DOG
Cool Dog are Judit Román Jiménez on acoustic guitar and vocals, Carlos Moreno Jiménez on drums, vocals and occasionally trumpet (and cornet), Mario Reid on Guitar and Mark (Marcos) Sims on bass. They play a wide range of musical styles from rock (international and Spanish) to Rumba and occasionally Pasa Doble. Their musical influences range from Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Adele to Maná, Fito y Fitipaldis and Tequila (the popular Spanish band from the late ‘70s, not the drink!) They describe themselves as more of a Rock and Rumba band than just an out and out rock band. Carlos’ first band was called Straw Dog. He then joined El Cuarto Ritmo and is now in Cool Dog. As well as playing drums in Cool Dog he and Judit also play as a duo called Cosa de Dos in which he plays guitar, bass and also sings. Judit was the singer in El Cuarto Ritmo, replacing her brother. She also sang in two other groups, but not at the same time. In fact Judit and Carlos have known each other all their lives, finally getting married two years ago. She also plays piano and had classes for six years. Mario has been playing guitar for many years. He had a distinguished military career with the Royal Engineers and served his country for over twenty years. During this time he also played in various groups developing his considerable talent. Mark played drums during the seventies and early eighties with various bands, the main one being Clemen Pull. In 2008 he moved to Spain having just started to learn the bass guitar. He met Mario at a jam session in Moreno’s bar, Puente don Manuel and they have since collaborated on various projects including Cool Dog. The band take their music very seriously but always like to have fun on stage, typified by the ´jumping song’, Tren de Largo Recorrido.

WELLBEING CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE ! Whilst Christmas for most of us is a time to enjoy and indulgence in lots of rich and calorific foods, for others this is a time when it can be difficult. But it does not have to be so; these days there are alternatives that are maybe ‘better’ for our health. Many of these food types are now widely available in the major supermarkets. Foods in abundance at Christmas for example, are Nuts in their raw state they some of the most nutritious foods we can eat. Then we have dried fruits, whilst they do contain a lot of sugar they are healthier than chocolates and cakes. Pomegranates are also in abundance, they contain many health giving nutrients and make a lovely early morning juice to start the day. Root vegetables are also plentiful and make ‘super’ foods. HERB OF THE MONTH RHODIOLA ROSEA also known as Golden Root or
Arctic Root, derives from Siberia and Northwestern China. Rhodiola rosea is a remarkable herb that has a wide and varied history of uses. It is thought to strengthen the nervous system, fight depression, enhance immunity, elevate the capacity for exercise, enhance memory, aid weight reduction, increase sexual function and improve energy levels. Rhodiola rosea has long been known as a potent adaptogen. Adaptogens are natural plant substances that increase the body's non-specific resistance and normalise the functions of the body. When a stressful situation occurs, consuming adaptogens generates a degree of generalised adaptation (or non-specific resistance) that allows our physiology to handle the stressful situation in a more resourceful manner. It is believed that adaptogens work by increasing the ability of cells to manufacture and use cell fuel more efficiently. Rhodiola rosea has been shown to shorten recovery time after prolonged workouts, to increase attention span, memory, strength, and anti-toxic action. Studies have demonstrated that Rhodiola rosea enhances memorisation and concentration ability over prolonged periods. It increases the bioelectrical activity of the brain which improves memory, brain energy, attention, thought formation, calculating, evaluating, planning and overall learing.

Grate 1 cube of chocolate over the top of the trifle.
Rhodiola both stimulates and protects the immune system. Rhodiola protects body and mind against oxygen deprivation, enhances overall immune funtion, and promotes healthy sexual function in men and women. Unlike many other herbs, Rhodiola rosea produces a palpable experience. When you take a preparation of this plant, you feel it. Typically users report enhanced energy, improved mood, greatly reduced stress, better sleep, and improved sexual vitality. My personal experience with Rhodiola is that it promotes a freshness of mind, stops the “roller Tina is happy to help with your cooking dilemas coaster”, gives the right and is also available for parties etc .
