Kitschy Christmas Takes Over Young Men’s Floors This Holiday Season From in-store shops to call-outs online, the novelty Christmas trend has exploded. The merchandise includes sweatshirts, graphic tees and sweaters and is becoming a must-have item for young men’s. The selling in all categories is off to a great start, including Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales. Teen and Millennial shoppers are embracing the kitschy movement and are choosing this item to share the joy of the holiday season. The young consumer is even using social media to show off their “ugly” looks by using the hashtag “#uglychristmassweater” on both Twitter and Instagram. Both generic and licensed looks are working, and even professional sports teams are jumping on the trend by offering “ugly,” festive team-oriented sweaters. Going forward we recommend that stores set up designated shops to highlight key merchandise.
