f you love sports and NFTs we think you’ll love SportsIcon Lion Club. At first glance you could easily mistake this project for just another pfp collection. In reality, SportsIcon have been rapidly securing huge NFT deals with the likes of Pumas, Michael Vick, Lucha Libre and more recently Chelsea FC striker Romelu Lukaku.
Joining the Lion Club gives you unique levels of access to sports stars, VIP sporting events and airdrops of exclusive sports-related NFTs. Lion Club holders have recently enjoyed opportunities to attend the England vs Hungary World Cup qualifiers, tickets to the Knicks and just a few days ago they took part in an exclusive live conversation and Q&A with NBA all-star Baron Davis, and that was just a regular Thursday for the club.

Following the success of NBA Top Shot, SportsIcon have chosen the Flow blockchain as the home of their upcoming releases. Flow has attracted other big names in sport including the UFC and NFL so this seems like a smart choice for a sports focused project and one that will enable the project to scale more rapidly.
As interest and awareness of NFTs increase, it stands to reason sporting collectibles and memorabilia will continue to find a home in the Metaverse.
At times like this with Shiba Inu hype contributing to yet another ETH gas crisis, we can’t help but wonder how many upcoming projects will begin to consider alternative blockchains.
The current challenge for the SportsIcon Lion Club is navigating the Ethereum blockchain and the gas fees that come with it. As gas competes with the floor price of this project it presents a unique challenge to grow, but while the floor is low the potential ceiling has no limit. If SportsIcon can continue to deliver at pace and find more ways to deliver utility to their loyal hodlers this will be a team worth betting on.
