The Drop Issue #5 - Nifty League

Gaming on the blockchain Nifty League is an NFT gaming platform where you can play as customizable NFT characters (Degens) minted on the Ethereum blockchain. Degens get full access to the platform starting with Nifty Smashers, a classic Smash Bros style brawler where Degens duke it out to earn rewards including a community NFTL token. The games themselves are playable on any major browser supporting crypto wallet extensions.

MAY THE BEST DEGEN WIN The Degens are a loveable bunch, with 6 tribes available you can play as a human, ape, dog, frog, cat or alien. Each of these tribes have unique abilities and game mechanics associated with them as well as unique traits and accessories. You can even use the NFTL token to give your Degen a name.

YOU DIED

What’s most interesting about Nifty League is their long term plans to gradually decentralize the platform and thereby enable community developers to get involved and build their own games. This would enable more rapid development of all kinds of games with the potential to spin out into it’s own ecosystem. In your most bullish dreams you might compare that to a Roblox or Skyrim mod community situation.

We believe over time that the gaming industry stands to gain the most from NFTs, 98% of what you see on OpenSea today will simply be forgotten as time goes on. Go look at rarity.tools and observe the sheer volume of half assed pfp collections coming out. Games are themselves a metaverse after all, there’s a symbiotic relationship between NFTs and gaming that overtime feels more and more likely to become an iconic duo. The game we’re all playing right now is to find the NFTs that will become a house hold name years from now. The goal of Nifty League and their inevitable competitors, is to be the game.

PLAYER 2 HAS JOINED You might already be wondering how a gaming platform with a cap of 10,000 players is going to grow. Nifty League has plans to colloborate with other NFT projects to increase the player pool. That’s pretty sweet when you think about it, imagine coming up against a CryptoPunk in online multiplayer or over-lapping a bored ape in Degen-Kart, potential “Ready Player 1” type stuff right there!
