This week in the metaverse:

Check out what you missed this week in the Metaverse.

Super Women “ What better way to jump into a collection than with some massive news – Boss Beauties have just announced a partnership with Marvel Entertainment to help empower women and girls around the world – not much detail is known on this just yet but it looks like the first step in what is shaping up to be a long and exciting collaboration with the entertainment giant. Boss Beauties are already dressed for the occasion, with the floor price for Superhero Beauties now sitting just over 3Ξ.

This significant collaboration also represents important progress towards mainstream awareness for the wider NFT space. Of-course, with great power comes great responsibility, and notably the Marvel announcement has drawn the attention of a few NFT naysayers, the criticism comes from the concerns surrounding Ethereum’s impact on the environment. Equating the carbon footprint of NFTs on Ethereum is far from an exact science, as Joseph Pallant eloquently put it “Figuring out the

culpability of NFTs is a little like calculating your share of emissions from a commercial plane flight”. In our opinion, to be ‘outraged’ by this collaboration before any information is even available around what it will entail is short-sighted. With a track record for positive change and a well decorated team behind this project we expect only good things from Boss Beauties.

All women are superheroes, and we’re partnering with @Marvel to help empower women and girls around the world! @BossBeautiesNFT

BOSS OPPO Owning a Boss Beauties NFT rewards holders with several perks including exclusive access to virtual events, membership to the Boss Beauties Book Club, holder licensing fees and even shared commercial rights. If you’re not excited about the commercial opportunities you should be, if the team use your Boss Beauty they will send you a 10% net licensing fee for whatever gets produced! That’s huge when you consider Boss Beauties was founded by the team behind My Social Canvas – which has a prominent fashion and accessories brand element. Combine that with the Marvel announcement, who make billions per annum on merchandise, are you starting to feel some FOMO?

Indeed the future looks bright for this collection, and what’s wonderful is the assurance their success will be shared to women around the world and across the Metaverse. Boss Beauties is an extension to the MSC mission; to educate and empower the next generation of Women and Girls. This has already begun with sales proceeds being used to fund mentorships and scholarships to teach and inspire the next generation of female leaders – and with their new side-kick Marvel, we can’t wait to see what happens next.

ORTUNITIES

Meet Amber Vittoria

An artist who needs no introduction - Amber is no stranger to the Metaverse, with three sold-out NFT collections and the next collection, “Just Let Me Paint Sunlight” expected to drop early 2022 on the Coinbase NFT platform. An artist & poet working in New York City, to say Amber has accolades would be a understatement; a forbes 30 under 30 recipient, Society of Illustrators gold medalist, and One Club Young Gun to name a few. Amber has worked with A-list clientele including the likes of Gucci, Apple and Google. Degens may know Amber as CryptoPunk#0589, but it’s the amazing poetry and NFTs we want to show you – Amber’s work explores depictions of womanhood and identity of self in striking color and often abstract forms. While you wait for the 2022 Coinbase drop, you can check out some of Amber’s earlier works on Opensea. Our favourite collection, It’s Because You’re Pretty, is a series of 100 unique abstract forms in stunning color. We’ve picked out a few we can’t stop staring at.

gm Palom Drop Magazine had the pleasure of talking with Paloma Rincón, an amazing visual artist with a seriously creative process behind a fascinating style of physical meets digital art. Paloma utilises a wide variety of techniques, textures, photography, and digital flair to create some of the coolest NFTs we’ve ever seen. Seriously, we’ve been dreaming about “Flamingo Dreaming” for days now! Paloma was part of the Time To Raise x Ekaitza collective drop which involved a huge collaboration of 24 artists that sold out in just 30 minutes. Don’t worry though, you will soon have the opportunity to

enjoy more of Paloma’s work, with another collective drop on the way sometime next month and a secretive series coming the beginning of next year, we’ll be keeping a close eye for the next drop!

Paloma very kindly let us in behind the scenes to understand the proceeds behind this innovative art, mixing photography and video techniques including live action, time-lapse, stop motion and digital animation; Pamola takes an analog approach that explores the interactions of the physical world through the lens of digital perception. Words truly cannot do it justice, we highly recommend you check out Pamolas artwork for yourself.

Abstract Labs As gas fees continue to cause drag in the Ethereum NFT scene, it’s pretty much inevitable that some people will begin looking to other chains to get their non-fungible fix. Because of this, today we’ll be highlighting a very interesting project paving its way on the Solana network - Abstract Labs!

tier system, with 9,950 standard passes and 50 ‘Inner Circle’ memberships with enhanced benefits. 5,000 of the standard passes have been allocated as freebies for certain partner projects to airdrop to their holders - so far these include projects like Solana Monkey Business and Thugbirdz!

Abstract Labs is an art studio based on Solana, exploring a mixture of styles such as generative, abstract and 3D work. The team behind this ambitious studio is packed full of experience, both inside and outside the world of crypto and degeneracy, all headed by MrPanguins, who started his own marketing agency whilst in University around 2 and a half years ago. Panguins’ background is particularly important here, as the studio aims to act as a ‘one stop shop’ where artists can come on board and focus on creating whilst the Abstract Labs team will take care of everything behind the scenes such as social media, gaining access to events/podcasts/twitter spaces and even the logistics behind creating and shipping physical art & merchandise!

Standard pass perks include: priority access to mint future drops (excluding special artists), free airdrops & access to the Abstract Labs DAO! Members of the inner circle gain all of the perks above, as well as: Access to Inner Circle community & governance, exclusive mints & airdrops from special artists (capped at 50 pieces) and being enshrined as part of the Abstract Labs DAO’s ‘Founding Members’.

The genesis of Abstract Lab is based around their 10,000 membership passes which provide holders with several points of utility. They work in a

Future drops will all be in collaboration with new artists that the studio decides to work with, making each run unique and bringing a variety of styles for pass holders to enjoy. Curation is handled by a team of three, the head of which has a strong background in design, and a track record of helping several Solana protocols execute their designs. Another member is, interestingly enough, based offline... They go around Indonesia, chatting with studios and solo artists to try and bring

them into the project! The final member of the team handles interviews and Zoom calls with potential artists that apply to be a part of the studio, asking them about their experience and collaborative vision.

When it comes to the tech, Abstract Labs has really pulled it out the bag here, bringing in some absolute industry titans - the guys over at NeoNexus/ UnlockDeFi. For those who aren’t familiar, Neonexus is a futuristic, cyberpunk city, based in the metaverse. So far, their team has sold thousands of passes and properties as part of their collection. This includes the exclusive ‘Governor’s mansion’ a 1/1 that looks over the entire city and has a load of unique utility - which was sold to the RoboDAO for an eye-watering 1,050 $SOL (~$250k at time of writing)! Finally, as mentioned above, Abstract Labs will also be creating a DAO to allow pass holders to propose and vote on strategic decisions concerning the future of the studio. The team believes this approach will help to align incentives between various stakeholders in the community and allow everyone to build and contribute as a collective!
