SPRING 2019
We are heritage adventurers deeply connected with our visual past. Reimagining visual gold long forgotten. We want to bring back life to old imageries found in rare books, hidden in galleries, archives, libraries, and museums. Founded in 2013 by Henrik Dybdahl, collector, visual artist, and master of library and information science (MLISc). Through out the last years THE DYBDAHL CO. have been exploring more different visual concepts including the amazing early 1800 botanical drawings found in scholarly books and the works by visual giants Audubon and Haeckel. Design In our multi disciplinary design studio we transfer the original images into new products you would want to hang on your wall. We digitize the material, clean up the images, change composition, mash-up more images, and always add a touch of our scandinavian design heritage. We work a lot with the old imagery but always with respect. We always keep the distinct part of the original designs, hence enhancing the image so it looks both brand new and old at the same time. Production and materials We design and produce all prints in our own rural studio outside Copenhagen. We use high quality paper and japanese archival ink to make sure the prints will have a long life and the colours will remain impressive. All prints are produced individual and trimmed by hand. We focus on great craftmanship and are proud of all prints leaving the studio.
