STORY We are heritage adventurers deeply connected with our visual past. Reimagining visual gold long forgotten. We want to bring back life to old imageries found in rare books and hidden in galleries, archives, libraries and museums. Founded 2013 by Henrik Dybdahl a collector, visual artist, and master of library and information science (MLISc). Through the last years THE DYBDAHL CO. have been exploring more different visual concepts. We introduced the world to the botanical palm trees found in early 1800 scholarly books and thus took part in accelerating the botanical mega trend now progressing all over the globe.

DESIGN In our multi disciplinary design studio we transfer the original images into new products you would want to hang on your wall. We digitize the material, clean up the images, change composition, mash-up more images, and always add a touch of our scandinavian design heritage. We work a lot with the old imagery but always with respect. We always keep the distinct part of the original designs, hence enhancing the image so it looks both brand new and old at the same time. Our combination of the old and new creates a line of products reminding us of something classic and cosy yet hip. Even though more of our collections have a more tropical atmosphere than we have here in Scandinavia our designs have become a part of the new Nordic trend including the right amount of hygge.

PRODUCTION AND MATERIALS We design and produce all posters/prints in our own rural studio outside Copenhagen. We use high quality paper or canvas, and japanese archival ink to make sure the prints will have a long life and the colours will stay impressive. All prints are produced individual and trimmed by hand. We focus on great craftmanship and are proud of all prints leaving the studio.

PROJECTS / CONTRACT MARKET We are happy to supply project customers. Currently we have taken part in decorating hotels, restaurants, cafĂŠs, offices, fashion stores, hospitals, and homes for elderly people. Aswell as creating astmosphere for tv series and movies. We can do custom sizes and designs for special projects.

COLLABORATIONS Our images are great for prints and posters. But also for a lot of different products and contexts. We gladly take part in collaborations in creating new products where both our brand and images can shine. We aim at mid to high-end products where a touch of THE DYBDAHL CO. can add a splash of our design heritage.

THE STUDIO We are based in the most rural part of greater Copenhagen. Our studio is placed in the cowshed of an old manor with a beautiful view over the surroundings fields.
