CSC Model Arab League to attend nationals in D.C. u By Aubrie Lawrence Editor-in-Chief

After being awarded a distinguished award for their representation of Qatar at the Rocky Mountain Model Arab League Conference at Brigham Young University in Provos, Utah, on Feb. 26, CSC’s Model Arab League will be teaming up with BYU to represent Kuwait at the national conference in Washington, D.C., next week. “We are so excited about this trip!” Laura Clay, senior of Colorado Springs, Social Science Club president said, “We thought we’d only be going to the re-

gional conference in Provo, but BYU was kind enough to invite us along with them to Nationals. It’s a really last-minute trip, but we were able to get plane tickets and hotels booked on time. Only four of us are able to go but we’ve got a solid group.” The team will leave for D.C. Wednesday and the conference starts Thursday. At Student Senate’s Monday meeting, the Social Science Club was allocated $500 to pay for food and gas for the trip. “It’s going to be such a fun trip,” Clay said. “We’re a bit pressed for time, but I think with the help of Dr. Curtis and each other we’ll be fully prepared, hopefully win some more awards, and represent CSC well.”
