School program could launch future author JOANNA LAVOIE jlavoie@insidetoronto.com A new extracurricular club at an east Toronto school may very well be the starting point for Canada’s next renowned author. On Wednesday, April 19, Equinox/Roden Public School, 151 Hiawatha Rd. in the Little India neighbourhood, launched its new book publishing club. To mark this special occasion, the Gerrard-Coxwell area school hosted an event featuring stories written and illustrated by pupils as young as six. The popular new group was created to promote and develop reading and writing skills for students in grades 1 to 4. More than 100 children have joined the club.
