This helps make it more than just a club – it’s as much about realizing wonderful experiences, participating in outstanding events and meeting great people as it is about shooting. The flexibility and range of membership privileges ensure Members are able to utilize the Club’s services all over the world wherever and whenever they wish to travel and that membership becomes an important part of their lifestyle.

PITTORMIE CASTLE This magnificent baronial Castle in St Andrews, Scotland, provides a warm ambience with facilities and services that are typically found only in the very finest Private Clubs. Members have a special place to relax, dine and entertain their own guests. The Castle has become the fulcrum of every Member’s visit to Scotland, with staff organizing their shoots, accommodation, dining, transfers, alternative activities and pursuits, as well as sightseeing excursions for non-shooting partners. Formerly the home of the first Duke of Fife, having been given to Ludovic of Lennox by King James VI in 1596, the Castle was lovingly restored by The Eden Club in 2005 under the guidance of Historic Scotland.

TRANSFERS Upon arrival at any of the airports Edinburgh (55 minutes), Dundee (15 minutes) - our fleet of drivers and vehicles are on hand to greet you and your guests and transfer you to the castle. A warm welcome awaits at Pittormie, as it’s our pleasure to receive Members back at their Scottish home. Transfers to and from the course are co-ordinated for each day’s play, enabling Members to concentrate on their game.

BEDROOMS Within the Castle there are eight bedrooms, each uniquely designed and decorated, with their own en-suite bathrooms. Furnished to the highest specifications, each room is as relaxing as it is delightful. The sense of luxury can be measured in every little detail, whether it’s the number of pillows on the bed or the thread count of the sheets on the handmade oversized four poster beds. At the foot of each bed a TV box houses a plasma TV which rises via remote control and offers both terrestrial and satellite channels. Wi-fi and cabled access ensure internet connection at your own desk.

DINING OPTIONS Members enjoy a variety of dining options within the Castle including the Stag Room and Main Dining Room for private dinners, the Terrace, the Chef’s Kitchen Grill for casual, quality dining and either the bar or wine bar. For more casual fare the bar offers a variety of tasty meals and snacks throughout the day. Michelin Star Chef Allan Donald oversees the internationally acclaimed Pittormie kitchen, producing a variety of menu options created from locally sourced produce. The superb food is complemented by a wide and varied wine cellar to suit every taste. Pittormie has a unique relationship with various wine maisons and our head butler and his staff will be happy to pick out a unique vintage bottle for every occasion.

LOUNGES Residents enjoy access to numerous private lounges in which to relax. The drawing room, main hall, whisky room, bar and wine bar offer guests private areas in which to unwind. The drawing room is ideal for champagne receptions, cocktails and after-dinner drinks for those looking for a private room. Throughout the winter, especially at Christmas and New Year, the main hall with its fireplace ablaze creates a wonderful place to gather.

THE RESIDENCES Within the estate, close to the Castle, the old stables, steadings, cottages and new-build garden cottages have been developed into luxurious two, three and four bedroom residences. Whilst identical in style and design, they range in layout and size from between 1,400 to 2,800 square feet. Each residence has been built to a superior quality using only the finest woods, marble and stone. The hand-built kitchens, complete with all domestic utilities and utensils, make living a homefrom-home experience. Air conditioning, under-floor heating and demisters in the bathroom complement hardwire and wi-fi connections, satellite and terrestrial television and the residences’ entertainment systems.

FACILITIES The indoor heated pool, spa treatment rooms, gymnasium and tennis courts all complement the short game centre and practice area where members and their immediate family enjoy complimentary golf lessons. In addition, the secure private gardens enable everyone to relax outdoors and enjoy some very special scenery.

SHOOTING IN SCOTLAND Scotland is one of the world’s finest shooting destinations combining a rich, beautiful terrain with a wide variety of species to shoot – many of which are unique to northern England and Scotland.

The quality of sporting-bird hunting and deer stalking is unequalled anywhere in the world and is steeped in history and tradition. Throughout the season the Club provides access to Scotland’s finest private estates for game shooting (including pheasant, grouse, partridge, hare, pigeon and ptarmigan) to wildfowling, deer stalking tuition (red, fallow, roe and sika deer) and rough shooting.

In combination with private transfers (via both Range Rovers and helicopters), a first-rate food and beverage service and our attentive, professional staff taking care of your every need, the Club delivers shooting experiences unlike any others in Scotland.

THE SECRETARIAT One very special dimension of the Club is that Members have access to a bespoke shooting Secretariat or Concierge. This concierge service assists Members with every requirement, including transfers and hotel reservations, ensuring that Members and their guests are welcomed wherever they travel. Our experienced staff are able to package customized trips for Members’ own groups to shoot the full gambit of ethical game available. From wild dove to giant wild boar, our team can help consult on a variety of destinations and experiences to suit your needs.

One special feature of the Club is that many of the Members own some of the world’s finest destinations which are not typically available to anyone other than their own guests. As part of the vision of the Club, Members provide the Club with access to these outstanding facilities for the occasional event or private group. The Secretariat is the executor of Members’ desires to enjoy the most prestigious venues around the world – whether at the Club’s home in St Andrews, at other private shooting clubs, or at the world’s finest private estates.

The Secretariat Service of the club will also enable members who own shoots, or have shooting days at wonderful venues, to make spaces available to other Members to encourage camaraderie.

Open to Members, the Holland and Holland Shooting Grounds in London offer unrivalled facilities for the sporting gun. The Club will also host an annual shooting event at this magnificent facility.

THE EVENTS The Club’s events are a special part of membership and are crafted to appeal to every aspect of a Member’s life. This unique platform within the shooting world enables Members from across the globe to meet, socialize and enjoy some of the finest shooting experiences anywhere. The ability to take your place and to participate and share these experiences is a privilege for friends and family, which Members naturally seek to preserve.

EVENT TYPES All of the Club’s events are broken into the following types: Parent–Child, Couples’ Events, Team Events, Shooting with Stars, Scottish Classics and International Classics.

Members may participate in as many events as they wish in any given year and invite up to three guests to each event. For many of the Members, participation in the Club’s events is an extremely valuable dimension of membership, providing the opportunity to meet wonderful people from all over the world.

THE BOAR Each year we shift location to either Turkey, Hungary, Germany, Florida or Texas in pursuit of giant wild boar. These magnificent beasts can grow to in excess of 1,000 lbs and our individual event focuses on one’s ability to hunt down the biggest boar of the year! This two-day event is a hunter’s dream, testing the skill, cunning and desire of each competitor.

THE CLASSICS Our Classic events focus on some of shooting’s finest and most exhilarating experiences. From dove hunting in Argentina to partridge shoots in Spain, on each occasion we will visit some of the most renowned locations in the world and include classical social gatherings to complement these great events.

THE MACNAB A MacNab is the name given to the feat of successfully hunting ‘Fur, Feather and Fin’ in one 24-hour period, that is to say successfully stalk, shoot and land a stag, grouse and salmon. It is by no means an easily achievable feat, requiring some talent of the wouldbe ‘MacNabber’ with rifle, shotgun and fly-rod, and a modicum of luck, but if one is indeed blessed with success, it becomes a most memorable hunting achievement. Prospective MacNabbers pray for good salmon runs, favourable water colour and levels in the river, a kind breeze to send forth the grouse, and the appearance of the elusive stag, well concealed, at his ease in luxuriant herbage, reclusive in nature! A successful outcome is generally celebrated by all involved with a glass of champagne, and a photo or two, both to bear witness and to commemorate a truly great day’s hunting achievement.

PARENT-CHILD SHOOT It’s team time for Parent & Child. Held on a nearby Fife estate, this one-day shoot is sure to challenge, where every shot counts and every miss costs!

SHOOTING WITH STARS Our one-day shoot on one of Fife’s finest estates provides an opportunity to shoot with many famous guests and enjoy a superb dinner at the Castle.

A TRADITION OF STYLE, ADVENTURE AND EXCLUSIVITY Holland & Holland guns are celebrated throughout the world as the perfect combination of artistry and craftsmanship. The company was founded by Harris Holland in London in 1835 and by the turn of the nineteenth century had become one of the best-known and highly regarded London gun and rifle makers. Taken forward by his nephew, Henry, who became a partner in 1867 (from then on the company was known as Holland & Holland), the company built a gun factory in Kensal Green in 1898 which has since been in continuous use, and which today combines all the wonders of modern component-making technology, with the same care and craftsmanship in the gunmaking and finishing operations that Harris and Henry Holland inspired in their craftsmen all those years ago. Since 1835, the name of Holland & Holland has been recognized as the benchmark of excellence throughout the world. This quintessentially British company’s heritage of superb craftsmanship has formed the basis of its transformation into a global luxury goods brand that focuses on authenticity, heritage and style. To understand why, you simply need to pick up one of the guns, balance it in your hands, and allow your eyes to take in every detail of its lines. It displays a purity of design and a functional simplicity that is found more frequently in nature than in the creations of man. Swing and mount the gun to your shoulder and immediately your visual sensation is matched by such perfect handling that you know the gun is ideally suited to its purpose.
