In just a matter of minutes the fragrant scents make the air of the room come alive, persuading me to wind down for a tranquil nights rest. Waking up the next morning I feel truly refreshed and rested. Softy gazing into the heart of a burning candle reminds me of the literal meaning of my name-spread knowledge/intelligence-like a candle. Having a candle in my room brings out the best in the environment and inspires me to be a better teacher. What’s your favorite part of being an Etsy seller? Interactions with our customers. The feedback, questions we get make for an enjoyable part of being an Etsy seller. To see your product bring a smile and warmth to another person makes all the effort worth it.

You Make Life Less Gross Card
Paper of course! My designs start out in Adobe Illustrator where I draw with a pen and tablet and I love the moment when an illustration that I've been working on really seems to gel and feels like me. But once I pick up my order from my local print shop and I can see and the finished greeting card on my chosen card stock? That's a pretty wonderful feeling! What do you want as a gift this year? I would love to treat myself to a trip to somewhere warm, but I don't think I'm ready for international travel yet. So I'd appreciate a cozy, forest-smelling candle made by someone local where I can get into full west coast cabin vibes here at home.

The Red Piece Shop
Thais Massacessi Moreira da Fonseca Langley, Canada Introduce yourself and your business My name is Thais. I'm a Brazilian wife and mom of two, living in Canada since 2017. In 2020 I decided to leave my job in retail to spend more time at home with my kids and started my wood signs and decor business, The Red Piece. I love crafts and I love wood, so I got into this amazing world of sawdust and clothes covered in paint! How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? I have an old chair that once needed a makeover. I decided to paint it red to make it pop and still give it a rustic, farmhouse look. When I was thinking of what name to give my business, I looked at the chair and that was it. Red, old, farmhouse feel. What is your favorite medium to work with? Definitely wood. I love going shopping for wood and getting hit with that wood smell!

Andrew Murray Vancouver, Canada Introduce yourself and your business Hello, we are Angelica and Andrew, and we have been part of the Etsy community for over three years. Our company was founded to be an alternative to single use plastic shopping bags. We found that, wherever we travelled on this magnificent planet, there was always one theme, single use plastic and single plastic bags strewn everywhere from the shores of Thailand to the hills of Colombia, single plastic has invaded every corner of our globe. So, we thought it was time to "rethink plastic." With every bag sold, we donate to an organization that is helping with water restoration. Last year, we championed Mossom Creek Salmon Hatchery in Port Moody and the fantastic work they have been doing there since the 1970s. What’s your favorite part of being an Etsy seller? The fantastic people and the ETSY community! Whistler Market Bag

Well Beings Supply Shop
Kitty Wong Vancouver, Canada Introduce yourself and your business Confronted with the amount of plastic my lifestyle was creating, I sought to create reusable products to swap out everyday single-use items. With a few meters of fabric and no sewing skills, I FaceTimed my dad for help to transform them into facial rounds and bags. This quickly budded into a (retired) father + (entrepreneurial) daughter project, which combined his 40+ years of textiles experience and hope to leave the world a little bit better than how I found it. How did you come up with the name for your Etsy shop? It was important for me to celebrate our customer's conscious effort in swapping out single-use products. So when imagining who our customers are, I see a community of people who care for their body, their home, and our planet. To me, this is well being. What is your go-to holiday drink?
Washable Shower Puff
I had the chance to study abroad in Vienna many years ago, and that was where I fell in love with mulled wine. I spent so much time wandering around the outdoor Christmas Markets, and the cup of spiced wine always kept me warm and cozy. Every holiday, I would try to recreate this concoction to share with my friends & family.

I'm originally from Saskatchewan so when I moved out to BC and start my business (which at the time started as a blog) I just picked something sort of generic because I wasn't really sure where my creative instincts would take me. Now WCLD in synonymous with my knitwear and it's really grown into the right name. What is your favorite medium to work with? I love Merino Wool. It's so soft and squishable, yet so warm and strong. It really is the best of both worlds.
