Phillipe Shangti, WITNESS OF OUR SOCIETY The Face of America Magazine

Artist Philippe Shangti focuses on contemporary pieces inspired by France, where he was born in the city of Toulouse in 1983. After studies in this city, his fate moved him to SaintTropez at the beginning of the 2000s. Shangti’s buzz began when he started placing and exhibiting his art on the walls of trendy restaurants, hoping to catch the attention of those interested in his unique style. This initial and bold move worked, and he’s been noticed and respected since then as a creative and detailed artistic entity.

Currently, he collaborates with many luxury brands as part of the development of a range of products steeped with his art and his universe. With his experience, the artist organizes ephemeral private events on the international scene where he manages to recreate the artistic atmosphere he is immersed in, to carry the visitors away and intensely connect them to his artistic world.

THE AMERICAN DREAMS OF MR. CUTE

The Face of America Magazine

Mr Cute is a duo of French visual artists. Brothers in life, they developed a four-handed body of work in keeping with the energy of pop art and the street art scene. The detection of an orphan disease in one of the two artists marked a decisive turning point in their lives. They decided to leave everything behind and focus their creative energies on "living life to the full with no regrets" and no limits. In this way, the two brothers revisit the gures who marked an entire generation, and the two artists imagine what the art of each era can say about our relationship with the passing of time. Through a collection of giant slides, Mr. Cute recalls the time of happiness. Memories are often more beautiful, more intense, than they were in real life.

With oil paintings & collage, the two brothers apply the concept of uchronia, changing the course of history to imagine what might have been. Through parodies and ctitious events. Mr Cute's surprising collection of paintings on drug packages demonstrates his commitment to questioning the social issues raised by pop culture, from the French connection to Pulp Fiction and Scarface, and our hypocrisy in the face of such scourges and addictions.

Designed for the Statler Hotels chain, the hotel opened after that chain's sale to Hilton Hotels and was completed in 1956 at a cost of $16 million, The Statler Hilton Dallas was the rst major hotel built in Dallas in nearly three decades and the largest convention facility in the South. Opening day included luminaries from both coasts converging on Dallas for a four-day celebration.

The hotel itself was proclaimed “the last word in hostelries.” The Statler Hilton boasted many rsts for the hotel industry such as elevator music and custom 21" Westinghouse TVs in every room. It was one of the rst hotels to have its ballroom and conference rooms located on lower oors, and a heliport was located on the roof to shuttle guests from nearby airports.

The Statler played an important role establishing Dallas as a business center for the Southwest. It was the largest hotel in the Southwest and helped attract convention business to Dallas for many years. According to Dallas’ AIA Guide to Dallas, The Statler and next door’s former Dallas Public Library, designed by George Dahl in 1953, make up the “best block of 1950s architecture in the city."

AKA, a global leader in luxury hospitality and the creator of the World’s Most Livable Hotels®, today reveals its design transformation at the 36-story Hotel AKA Brickell, located in the energetic Brickell neighborhood at the Brickell Arch at 1395 Brickell Avenue. One of the most exciting components of this design unveiling is the debut of ADRIFT Mare, the restaurant and bar by Michelinstarred Chef David Myers that opened this summer. The restaurant is set in an 11- story atrium with dynamic views of Brickell and Biscayne Bay. A stunning custom installation of more than 100 ethereal lanterns is suspended from the eatery’s ceiling, situated at varying heights, and interspersed in clustered arrangements to emit an ambient glow.

CHAGALL, PARIS-NEW YORK AT HALL DES LUMIERES

The Face of America Magazine

The immersive exhibition is devoted to the proli c and unclassi able painter, Marc Chagall (1887–1985) at the Hall des Lumières during Autumn 2023. This unique digital exhibition presents his entire oeuvre, revealing a work rooted in its times, at the crossroads of the artistic and cultural novelties of his century and in constant renewal.

fi

fi

The Face of America Magazine

Paris and New York, the emblematic capitals of modern art, represent two crucial stages in the artist’s long career. Paris was his chosen city, and thanks to the avant-garde movements of the 1910s, it provided the young Russian painter with a pool of experimental work, which he enriched with his own cultural references. New York was primarily a place of exile during the 1940s, and yet it gave the artist’s creativity fresh impetus. After the war, several exhibitions and major commissions reinforced the links between Paris and New York and brought Chagall back to the United States, up until the 1970s.

The Face of America Magazine

During this immersive exhibition, all the themes and images present in the artist’s repertoire are projected onto the walls of the Hall des Lumières, like intertwined cut-out images. They are complemented by short extracts of classical music, klezmer, and jazz, which were also part of Chagall’s cultural universe. His fantastic bestiary, his marvellous characters from circuses, fables, and the opera, as well as biblical episodes and references to Russian culture, poetically evoke the artist’s rich life experiences, which naturally resonates with the collective experiences of his people and generation.
