INTERVIEW WITH DR DORIS DAY -Taken By Pitanjal Datta 1) According to you what would be the definition for a perfect skin? Ans) Skin that is even in tone, smooth with minimal appearance of pores, skin that has firmness and radiance. 2) During which age group , does an individual need the most attention of a dermatologist? Ans) Every age needs evaluation by a dermatologist. In the teenage years there is often acne as an issue and this is a great time to develop a relationship with your dermatologist. I treat acne in teenagers but I also help guide them with information about great skin care and sun protection so I can help their skin age beautifully over time. As you hit your 20's and 30's there are treatments to help keep your skin tone even and to avoid volume loss. In the 40's and up there are treatments and fillers that can help you stay ahead of the aging process so you always look natural and your very best without looking "done." My idea is to not let my patients fall behind and then have to catch up but instead to keep them always looking like the best version of themselves at every age.

3) A common misconception regarding skin treatments that you would love to change among the masses? Ans) That there is one right thing for everyone or that you have to buy the most expensive product for the best effect. The reality is that simple measures of taking care of your skin go a long way in keeping your skin looking it's best. Using sunscreen every day, proper cleansing, exfoliating on a regular basis, using antioxidants and moisturizers, along with a healthy diet and enough sleep are powerful measures that you can follow. 4) An important change that you would love to see or bring in the dermatology sector,when it comes to treatments? Ans) I would love to see natural outcomes that match the individual rather than the overdone look I often see. Everyone has their own special balance and we need to work to match that, not just give big cheeks or lips because we can.

I've had to overcome so much, none of it came easy, but every step of the way and each obstacle makes the reward more precious. I started out as a medical journalist so switching careers was a big shift, but I find it works to my advantage now because I can understand things from both the science and the human aspects. This has made what I do even more rewarding for my patients and for myself.

7) In the past decade, which technological innovation in the dermatology sector do you consider the most beneficial? Ans) The expansion of soft tissue fillers and neuromodulators has been incredibly beneficial in helping dermatologists improve our patients' appearance without surgery. The more we do the more we find methods of delivering the products in ways that are natural and beautiful and that not only make our pateints look better now but that have lasting effects to help them look better for years to come. I look at patients in their 30's and think about where they will be in their 40's and up and I plan for that. 8) A skin treatment that you would love to introduce to the masses,which is really beneficial,yet not very well known and popular? Ans) Microneedling combined with radiofrequency has been a great tool to help me treat acne scarring as well as skin aging. I often add in with PRP, and treat with neuromodulators and
fillers to give flawless smooth and beautifully contoured skin. I would love for people to better understand that small steps over time are better than doing a lot at once. It's a global approach of using a combination of skin care, devices, neuromodulators and fillers to help you always look great without anyone knowing what you've done. 9) The happiest and the most memorable moment in your such a successful career would be? Ans) This really happens on a daily basis when a patient looks in the mirror after a treatment, smiles and says "wow!" 10) The greatest learning from your years of practice and being into this profession,that you would love to pass on to the future aspiring dermatologists who admire you? Ans) Love what you do, always work to be your best every day, never comp-are yourself to anyo-ne else and never give up on what you want to acheive.You can do it!

According to you the best form of fitness workout is............? Why......? Ans) No one fitness workout is complete in all aspects; one has to do more than one kind of workout to benefit holistically. An important awareness you would like to spread through this interview, to the society? Ans) I feel that it’s important to make modifications to incorporate fitness as a part of your lifestyle and not just a phase of your life.

How long should an individual devote time for his/her FITNESS , in a week? Ans) Atleast 30 mins 5 times a week. More the better. Tell us about your future plans with your career in the FITNESS industry. Ans) There is so much I want to do... I want to spread my “FIT FOOD” Line of wholesome foods in the Corporate World. “FIT WITH PRI” as a brand should be synonym to Functional Fitness and Healthy Advice. I want to open my own Studio soon.I want to continue to learn and empower myself with knowledge in the field of Functional Fitness, Corrective Exercises, Pilates and Nutrition that compliments a healthy lifestyle. people have is that they cut out a certain food group completely, it’s a wrong practise. It leads to nutritional deficiencies and will have long term repercussions. An important change that you would love to see or bring in the FITNESS industry? Ans) I feel that,

trainers who are certified through proper process and recognised International programs should be paid as per industry standards worldwide, because these certifications are valid worldwide. In India, unfortunately most of the trainers are underpaid and have to struggle to make a decent living. What are the fitness goals you train for? Ans) I train to be functionally fit and lean. Besides that, I train for core strength.

Pooja: Many many incidents can write a book..spoiled , burnt, undercooked , dropped and many many more. 2) One misconception about Food and Cooking that you would love to change...........? Pooja: Cooking is difficult and time consuming . you can get awesome dishes on table under 15 minutes 3) A vegan dish that you love cooking would be............? Pooja: My very own flourless sugarless chocolate gooey cake.

“I have recently launched my own lipstick collection. These are waterproof long lasting liquid shades in matte. Very smooth formula and is non transferable. I guess the biggest problem that women faced was that their lipsticks didnt stay longer. This range is long lasting from 8 to 12 hours stay. Next i plan to launch an entire makeup range in my own label. Hope people will love it as much as my lip colors are getting the attention.” A Personality on whom you would love to try out your Make Up Skills on? Ans) Kangna Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. 3 must have Make Up Items for i) Men ii) Women? Ans) Although indian men dont like any makeup but i still belive that its as important for men to look flawless as do women. So men should have a concealer, foundation and contour powder. Women must have a mascara, red lipstick and a bronzer.
