Le confinement est une parenthèse inédite, qui a fait émerger des réflexions sur qui nous sommes.

FR Je suis une utopiste enflammée qui aime partager ses convictions, ses coups de coeur, ses valeurs, ses joies et ses peines.

Je crois en l’Homme depuis toujours même si mon enthousiasme n’a pas toujours été récompensé.

L’homme est complexe à comprendre et à décrypter, mais plein de ressources, notamment lorsqu’il est «confiné» car face à lui-même et donc de ce fait plus authentique.

Depuis 25 ans, j’ai toujours dit que ce qui m’intéressait dans la mode, c’étaient les hommes, les femmes : les artisans, les stylistes, les modélistes, les fabricants, les acheteurs et tant de professions… des talents qui ne sont pas toujours mis en lumière. Dans notre domaine, nous ne sauvons pas des vies mais nous créons des emplois. Notre industrie n’est pas vitale mais la création est vitale, elle nourrit l’imaginaire, le rêve et offre à chacun, au travers de ses goûts et de ses envies une possibilité d’expression.

Je me suis demandée comment je pouvais persévérer dans ma vocation à soutenir et à faire connaître «à ma façon» ceux qui en sont les acteurs dans une période aussi critique qu’aujourd’hui.

C’est ainsi que m’est venue l’idée de ce journal de confinement, une façon simple de garder le contact et de mettre en lumière sans artifices, des personnes que j’estime pour leur travail mais aussi et surtout pour leur personnalité.

Et ainsi garder des témoignages de cette pandémie de 2020 qui va marquer à jamais notre époque.

J’ai donc décidé de demander à ces créatifs, créateurs, artistes, de nous faire partager des fragments de leur vie à travers ces confessions sur le confinement. Je les remercie d’avoir tous répondu à ma demande sans hésitation.

J’espère que vous apprécierez cette démarche, qu’elle vous permettra de mieux les connaitre, et qu’elle vous donnera envie de les rencontrer.

Confinement is an unprecedented parenthesis, which has given rise to reflections on who we are.

I am a flaming utopian who likes to share her convictions, her favourites, her values, her joys and sorrows.

I have always believed in Mankind, even if my enthusiasm has not always been rewarded. It is complex to understand and decipher, but full of resources, especially when one is «confined» because one faces his self and is therefore more authentic.

For 25 years, I have always said that what interested me in fashion was men and women ; talents, craftsmen, stylists, model makers, manufacturers, buyers, and so many professions that are not always brought to light. In our industry, we don’t save lives but we create jobs.

Our industry is not vital but it feeds the imagination, the dream and offers everyone, through their tastes and desires, a possibility of expression.

I asked myself how I could persevere in my vocation to support and make known «in my own way» those who are its actors in such a critical period as today.

That’s how the idea of this containment journal came to me, a simple way to keep in touch and to bring to light, without artifice, people whom I esteem not only for their work but also and above all for their personality.And thus to keep testimonies of this pandemic of 2020 that will forever mark our time.

I have therefore decided to ask these creative people, creators, artists, to share fragments of their lives with us through these confessions on confinement. I thank them all for having answered to my request without hesitation.

I hope that you will appreciate this approach, that it will allow you to know them better, and that it will make you want to meet them.

État d’esprit : "Formes libres à interpréter" FR

Au cours de ces dernières années, Jeanne Vicérial a été une de mes plus belles rencontres vu son profil atypique dans la mode.

Elle créait un vêtement avec un seul fil, recyclé de 150 km de long, représentant 6 mois de travail à la main. J’ai été stupéfaite, impressionnée par la détermination de cette jeune femme qui est rentrée à l’école des Arts-Décoratifs de Paris pour mener ses recherches ; convaincue qu’elle mettrait au point la première machine à tricoter avec un fil pour gagner du temps et faire au plus prêt du corps afin d’éviter le gâchis et les chutes.

Créatrice, inventeuse, tricoteuse, artiste, consciente des nouveaux enjeux de notre industrie, elle réinvente la mode en remettant l’individu au coeur du processus créatif et industriel.

Elle crée le studio Clinique vestimentaire .

Pendant le confinement cette jeune pensionnaire de la Villa Médicis nous embarque dans son monde artistique, en produisant une série de pièces, une part jour comme un journal vestimentaire intitulé "La Quarantaine". À revoir sur son instagram.

Over the last few years, Jeanne Vicerial has been one of my most beautiful encounters given her atypical profile in fashion. She created a garment with a single recycled thread 150 km long, representing 6 months of hand-work. I was stunned, impressed by the determination of this young woman who returned to Decorative Arts’s School of Paris to carry out her research ; convinced that she would develop the first machine to knit with one thread to save time and do it close to the body to avoid waste and falls.

Creator, inventor, knitter, artist, conscious of the new stakes of our industry, she reinvents fashion by putting the individual back at the heart of the creative and industrial process. She created the Clinique vestimentaire studio.

During her confinement at the Villa Medicis, this young resident takes us into her artistic world, producing a series of pieces, one part of which is a daily clothing diary entitled «La Quarantaine». To be reviewed on her instagram.

Comment as-tu vécu le confinement ?

Face aux mesures sanitaires actuellement mises en place en Italie, et mon incapacité à pouvoir rentrer en France, j’ai décidé de consacrer tout mon temps à la pratique.

Un jour = une composition vestimentaire.

Ainsi le projet de "QUARANTAINE VESTIMENTAIRE" est né le lendemain du décret annoncé en Italie ; c’était avant tout l’idée de continuer à proposer et à créer.

Une façon de répondre de façon formelle, visuelle. Se donner un objectif journalier. Il ne s’agit pas forcément d’une protection, ou de réaction au virus. J’avais aussi envie d’une chronique autre que les nouvelles que l’on peut lire chaque matin au réveil.

Je laisse sortir chaque pièce quotidiennement, le matin je ne sais pas ce que je vais composer, fabriquer, je laisse une totale interprétation aux formes qui sortent. Je donne un titre selon l’instant, mais ça pourrait changer à tout moment.

How did you experience containment?

Faced with the health measures currently in place in Italy, and my inability to return to France, I decided to devote all my time to the practice.

One day = one composition of clothing.

Thus the project of "QUARANTAINE VESTIMENTAIRE" was born the day after the decree announced in Italy; it

was above all the idea to continue to propose and create. A way of responding in a formal, visual way. To give oneself a daily objective. It is not necessarily a protection, or a reaction to the virus. I also wanted a column other than the news you can read every morning when you wake up. I let each piece out every day, in the morning I don’t know what I’m going to compose, make, I leave a total interpretation to the forms that come out. I give a title according to the moment, but that could change at any moment. » Quelle a été ta plus grande frustration ?

Je ne sais pas vraiment répondre à cette question, certainement l’incapacité de pouvoir sortir.

What was the biggest frustration?

I don’t really know how to answer that question, certainly the inability to get out.

Quelle a été la plus grande découverte sur toi ?

Le temps même si c’est pas vraiment une découverte.

What was your greatest discovery about yourself?

Time, even if it’s not really a discovery.

Quel est ton rêve le plus fou pour un monde meilleur ?

Que l’industrie notamment l’industrie textile/vêtement ne recommence pas comme avant, étant donné qu’elle est en grande partie responsable de beaucoup de dérèglement.

What is your wildest dream for a better world?

That the industry, especially the textile/ clothing industry, doesn’t go back to the way it was before, as it is largely responsible for a lot of disruption.

J’ai rencontré Florentin et Kevin en 2019 dans le cadre du programme "Designers Apartment" mis en place par la FHCM. Ce fût un vrai coup de coeur. Branchés, alternatifs, leur attitude m’a séduite car ils ont su garder authenticité et sincérité.

Ils sont un duo d’un nouveau genre.

Ils se sont rencontrés à Paris, dans une société où mode, art, musique et arts visuels sont indissociables. En 2019 ils créent EGONlab, un laboratoire créatif voulant allier mode et culture sociétale. Le tailoring étant au cœur de leur création, ils ont pour ambition de redéfinir la masculinité de notre société. Teinté d’un ADN punk, leur vestiaire majoritairement masculin, par son design, s’adapte à toutes les morphologies et à tous âges.

EGONlab se revendique donc comme une marque "genderless" sous le leitmotiv "BE WHO YOU ARE, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT".

I met Florentin and Kevin in 2019 as part of the FHCM "Designers Apartment" program set up by the FHCM. It was a real crush.

Trendy, alternative, their attitude seduced me because they knew how to keep their authenticity and sincerity.

They are a new kind of duo. They met in Paris, in a society where fashion, art, music and visual arts are inseparable. In 2019 he created EGONlab, a creative laboratory that aims to combine fashion and societal culture. As tailoring is at the heart of our creation, their ambition is to redefine the masculinity of our society. Tinged with a punk DNA, their predominantly male wardrobe, by its design, adapts to all morphologies and all ages.

EGONlab thus claims to be a «genderless» brand under the leitmotiv "BE WHO YOU ARE, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT".

Comment avez-vous vécu le confinement ?

K: Comme une véritable mise à l’épreuve mais aussi comme l’opportunité de me recentrer sur les choses essentielles et sur moi-même. Nous sommes tous happés par le système, que nous le voulions ou pas. Ma génération a été bercé dans l’idée que l’ultra consumérisme était une notion normale et que toutes nos libertés et tous nos privilèges étaient acquis. Cependant, la crise COVID-19 à mis en avant la fragilité du système mondial. Je peux donc dire que j’ai vécu ce confinement comme une véritable chance de repenser le monde de demain.

F: Franchement, pas trop mal. Même si nous sommes dans un 20m², nous avons la chance d’être à deux. Nous avons instauré des petits rituels pour ne pas perdre le nord, et pour l’instant ça marche : sport matin et soir, travail toute la semaine et apéro-skype le week-end. Le confinement nous a d’ailleurs permis de bien avancer sur plein de projets, même si on préférerait parfois aller travailler dans une terrasse ensoleillée. Mais bon, on reste chez nous, et on avance. On a même découvert nos talents de cuisinier!

Alors il y a des bons et des mauvais côtés, mais on reste positif et on transforme toute cette période de confinement en création et réflexion, pour en tirer le meilleur.

How did you experience containment?

K: it has been a real test but also as an opportunity to refocus on essentials and

on myself. We are all caught up in the system, whether we like it or not. My generation was cradled in the idea that ultra consumerism was a normal notion and that all our freedoms and all our privileges were acquired. However, the COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the fragility of this entire system internationally. So I can say that I experienced this lockdown as a real chance to rethink the world of tomorrow.

F: Frankly, not too bad. Even if we are in an apartment of 20m², we are lucky to be two. We have established little rituals/a routine so as not to lose our bearings, and for the moment it works: sport in the morning and evening, work all week and aperitif-skype on weekends.

The lockdown has allowed us to make good progress on a lot of projects, even if normally we would prefer to go to work on a sunny terrace. But hey, we stay at home, and we move forward. We even discovered our cooking skills! So there are good and bad sides, but we remain positive and we are trying to transform this whole period of lockdown into creation and reflection, to get the best out of it.

Quelle a été votre plus grande frustration ?

K: L’absence du contact humain, l’incapacité de pouvoir être présent physiquement pour ma famille et mes proches.

Mon premier cercle à fait de moi la personne que je suis aujourd’hui et continuera à me faire évoluer.

Dans un premier temps, cet isolement a été un véritable frein à la création (l’inspiration me venant majoritairement du monde qui m’entoure) mais par la suite, je me suis rattaché à quelque chose de fabuleux : mes souvenirs. C’est à travers ce nouveau processus créatif que j’ai pu comprendre la véritable signification de la "madeleine de Proust". Mais entre toi et moi Patricia, les soirées entre amis chez Malika (bar : "Au Grand Turenne"), les restaurants en amoureux et les warehouses... m’ont également beaucoup manqués. À croire que je suis un véritable épicurien.

F: Je ne sais pas laquelle est la plus grande, mais il y en a quelques-unes comme marcher dans la rue sans avoir l’impression d’être un délinquant. Sinon, aller boire une pinte fraîche chez Malika, avec tous nos amis, ca me manque ; avoir un contact humain, et une distance de moins d’un mètre pour pouvoir partager tout et rien, sortir, danser… Profiter de la vie !

What was your biggest frustration?

K: The absence of human contact, the inability to be able to be physically present for my family and loved ones.

My inner circle has made me the person I am today and will continue to make me evolve. At first, this isolation was a real block on creation (the inspiration came mainly from the world around me) but afterwards, I attached myself to something fabulous: my memories. It

was through this new creative process that I was able to understand the true meaning of the «Madeleine de Proust».

But between you and me Patricia, evenings with friends at Malika’s (bar: Au Grand Turenne ‘), romantic restaurants and warehouses ... I also missed them a lot. I have to believe that I am a true epicurean.

F: I don’t know which one is the biggest frustration, but there are some like walking on the street without feeling like a delinquent. Otherwise, I would go for a fresh pint at Malika’s bar, with all our friends, I miss it; to have human contact, and a distance of less than a meter to be able to share everything and nothing, to go out, to dance ... to Enjoy life!

Quelle a été la plus grande décoverte sur vous-même?

K: Ce n’est pas une réelle découverte mais la confirmation que j’étais complètement fou. Je peux te jurer que si nous avions placé une caméra dans notre appartement et que les vidéos avaient été analysées par un psychiatre, j’aurais gagné un ticket sans escale pour l’asile.

F: Ma plus grande découverte sur moimême a été de savoir que je ne pourrai pas faire de bêtises, passer devant le tribunal et faire de la prison à vie, car 2 mois de confinement c’est assez, mais plus, je deviendrai fou!

What was the greatest discovery about yourself?

K: It is not a real discovery but the confirmation that I was completely crazy.

I can swear to you that if we had placed a camera in our apartment and the videos had been analyzed by a psychiatrist, I would have won a non-stop ticket for a mental asylum.

F: My biggest discovery about myself was knowing that I couldn’t do anything stupid, go to court and go to prison for life, because 2 months of lockdown is enough, but if it lasts any longer, I will become crazy!

Quel est votre rêve le plus fou pour un monde meilleur?

K: Que l’humanité soit régi par le mode "être" et que chaque citoyen du monde célèbre cette nouvelle ère tous ensemble.

Le philosophe Erich Fromm avait prédit que notre société serait obsédée par les biens matériels, pour lui, l’être humain obéissait à deux orientations principales: être ou avoir. Quand domine le "mode avoir", l’individu cherche à accumuler et posséder des biens matériels et même des gens. Quand en revanche, le "mode être" prédomine, la personne se concentre davantage sur l’expérience, le partage, l’échange avec les autres, qui constituent sa vraie richesse. Malheureusement, Fromm a également prédit qu’une culture régie par les lois du commerce, (qui est aujourd’hui notre cas) est condamnée à fonctionner sur le "mode avoir" qui conduit à l’insatisfaction et à un sentiment de vide. Quand on considère qu’il avait écrit cela en 1960, il avait vu juste. Le virus a appuyé sur le bouton RESET. Maintenant il est de l’initiative de chacun de nous, d’apprendre de nos erreurs et de repenser le monde de demain.

F: Mon rêve le plus fou serait d’abolir les inégalités entre les êtres humains, que tout le monde reste soi-même et différent, d’éviter que la terre entière soit aseptisée par des dictats. Que tout le monde s’aime et s’accepte.

What is your craziest dream for a better world?

K: May humanity be governed by the mode of “being” and each citizen of the world celebrating this new era all together.

dicted that our society would be obsessed with material goods, for him, the human would obey two main orientations: to be or to have. When the concept of “having” dominates, the individual seeks to accumulate and possess material goods and even people. When, on the other hand, the concept of “being” predominates, the person concentrates more on experience, sharing, exchange with others that constitute his true wealth.

Unfortunately, Fromm also predicted that a culture governed by the laws of trade, which is the case for us today, would be condemned to function in the mode of “having” which would also lead to dissatisfaction and a feeling of emptiness.

When you consider that he wrote this in 1960, he was right.The virus pressed the RESET button. Now it is up to each of us to learn from our mistakes and to rethink the world of tomorrow.

F: My wildest dream would be to abolish the inequalities between human beings, that everyone remains themselves and different, to prevent the whole earth from being sanitized by dictates. Let everyone love and accept each other.

What will you do when you get out of this lockdown?

F: Try to make up for two months of lockdown without putting myself into a coma ! haha.

État d’esprit : "Construire dans l’instant" FR

Je vous présente Rebecca et Elodie un duo au féminin et explosif. Elles semblent en guerre avec la société alors qu’en fait, elles l’aiment et sont déjà entrain d’expérimenter des scénarios pour qu’elle évolue vers un monde meilleur. Appartenant à la communauté des "MAKERS", de ceux qui font "DIY", tournées vers les nouvelles technologies, mais aussi vers l’artisanat et le sur-mesure, elle fondent en 2017, un studio de création qui aborde les projets de façon transversale à la frontière entre design, mode, art de vivre, graphisme et espace.

Elles sont convaincues que la révolution de demain c’est la transformation des déchets. Aujourd’hui, je les appelle aussi les "cuisineuses des bio-polymères". Elles remontent à la source, réemploient des déchets/ ressources naturelles telles que les huitres, les moules... liées avec de l’algue pour éco-concevoir des installations innovantes, scénographies à base de briques ou autre support biodégradables.

En 2019, elles lancent "Precious Kitchen", le premier portail "open source" en ligne qui permet de référencer les matières, déchets ou rebuts qui peuvent être valorisés et ainsi connaître une seconde vie créative. Souhaitons que leurs découvertes puissent aussi nous permettre de consommer mieux, vivre autrement.

Belonging to the community of "MAKERS", of those who make "DIY", turned towards new technologies, but also towards crafts and custom-made products, they are founding in 2017 a creative studio which approaches projects in a transversal way at the border between design, fashion, art of living, graphics and space. They are convinced that tomorrow’s revolution is the transformation of waste. Today, I also call them the "bio-polymers’ cooks". They go back to the source, reusing waste/natural resources such as oysters, mussels...bound with algae to eco-design innovative installations, scenographies based on bricks or other biodegradable supports. In 2019, they are launching "Precious Kitchen", the first online "open source" portal that allows to reference materials, waste or scraps which can be valorized and thus experience a second creative life. Let us hope that their discoveries will also allow us to consume better and live differently.

Comment avez-vous vécu le confinement ?

E : Franchement, pas bien du tout au début, entre l’angoisse d’être privée de sa liberté, de se retrouver enfermée entre quatre murs, et la perspective de ne plus pouvoir se rendre à l’atelier, c’était la panique la plus totale. Et puis on se remercie d’avoir un esprit créatif ; on s’adapte, on invente de nouveaux modèles. On puise dans de nouvelles ressources et on explore d’autres terrains de jeux.

R : D’abord la sidération, ensuite l’angoisse et très rapidement, l’adaptabilité.

La liberté est un prix qui coûte cher, et je me sens assez privilégiée. Ma pratique ne permettant pas le télétravail, j’ai donc pu continuer à me rendre à mon atelier, ce qui était essentiel et vital pour moi.

C’était ma plus grosse crainte : être privée de mon espace d’expérimentations !

How did you experience containment?

E: Frankly, not well at the beginning, between the anguish of being deprived of one’s freedom, of being enclosed between four walls, and the prospect of not being able to go back to the studio, it was the most total panic. And then you thank yourself for having a creative spirit, you adapt, you invent new models. We tap into new resources and explore new playgrounds.

R: First the astonishment, then the anguish and very quickly the adaptability.

Freedom is a high price to pay, and I feel quite privileged. My practice does not allow me to telework, so I was able to continue to go to my workshop, which

was essential and vital for me. That was my biggest fear, being deprived of my experimental space!

Quelle a été votre plus grande frustration ?

E : Être privée de l’océan, de ne plus pouvoir bouger, d’aller surfer. Je n’avais pas conscience que c’était aussi essentiel à mon équilibre.

R : Être privée de ma liberté. J’ai trouvé ça très compliqué que l’on m’impose une restriction de mes mouvements.

Bien sûr, c’est pour le bien du collectif et je sais obéir aux règles, mais je ne pensais pas que ça puisse m’atteindre à ce point.

Et je rajouterais que l’eau me manque terriblement (je pratique la natation synchronisée), j’ai besoin d’avoir mon corps en apesanteur et là, je me sens rouillée.

What was your biggest frustration?

E: To be deprived of the ocean, to be unable to move, to go surfing. I wasn’t aware that it was so essential to my balance.

R: To be deprived of my freedom. I found it very complicated to have a restriction of my movements imposed on me. Of course, it’s for the good of the collective and I know how to obey the rules, but I didn’t think it could get to me that much. And I will add that I miss water terribly (I practice synchronized swimming), I need to have my body in weightlessness and now I feel rusty.

Quelle a été la plus grande découverte sur vous-même ?

E : Mon incapacité à me poser et la peur du vide. Je suis incapable de prendre le temps de chiller, et ce malgré le confinement, qui est quand même le contexte le plus propice à cela. J’ai tellement de gens autour de moi, qui vivent leur meilleure vie, prennent le temps et sont dans l’introspection. Moi je suis en "mode projets". Je me rajoute des dizaines de projets de façon à être débordée en permanence, et aussi parce que j’ai plein d’envies à satisfaire. Finalement il n’y a que l’océan qui arrive à me poser…tu sais quand tu es pris sous la vague en "mode machine à laver" et que tu n’as d’autre choix que d’attendre.

R : Je crois que je me connais quand même plutôt bien, je ne suis pas sûre d’avoir fait une découverte mais cette épreuve du confinement a confirmé ou exacerbé ces traits. Cette quarantaine aura été sous le signe de la création.Voir le monde à l’arrêt m’a permis de me recentrer sur l’essence même de mon travail et de qui je suis. J’ai pu prendre le temps d’expérimenter d’avantage et de m’instruire. J’ai aussi besoin de faire le vide par la pratique artistique et le travail du corps, une sorte de méditation en pleine conscience. Les piscines étant fermées, j’ai repris la danse classique que j’avais pratiqué enfant avec des visios des compagnies du monde entier, c’est génial ! Et j’ai enfin pris le temps de réouvrir mes partitions et me remettre au piano.

Je peux y passer des heures, je ne pense à rien et ça me fait un bien fou !

What was your greatest discovery about yourself?

E: My inability to settle down and the fear of emptiness, I am unable to take the time, to chill, and this despite the confinement, which is still the most favourable context for this. I have so many people around me who are living their best life, who take the time, who are in introspection. I’m in project mode. I add dozens of projects to myself in order to be constantly overwhelmed, and also because I have a lot of desires to satisfy.

In the end, only the ocean can land me... you know when you’re caught under the wave in washing machine mode and you have no choice but to wait.

R: I think I know myself pretty well, I’m not sure I’ve made a discovery but this test of containment has confirmed or exacerbated those traits. This quarantine will have been under the sign of creation. Seeing the world at a standstill has allowed me to refocus on the essence of my work and who I am. I was able to take the time to experiment more, to search, to educate myself. I also need to clear my mind through artistic practice and bodywork, a kind of mindfulness meditation. The swimming pools being closed, I went back to classical dance that I had practiced as a child with live videos of companies from all over the world, it’s great! And I finally took the time to reopen my scores and start playing the piano again. I can spend hours there, I don’t think about anything and it’s great!

Quel est votre rêve le plus fou pour un monde meilleur ?

E : L’équilibre! À tous les niveaux. Mais surtout, enfin trouver l’équilibre entre la nature et la culture… Savoir créer et innover sans dévaster la nature qui nous entoure.

R : Que ce système s’effondre pour repartir à neuf en tenant compte des erreurs passées. Un monde plus collaboratif, respecteux, sincère et à l’écoute de notre mère Terre.

What is your craziest dream for a better world?

E: Balance!

At all levels. But most of all, finally finding the balance between nature and culture... Knowing how to create and innovate without devastating the nature that surrounds us.

R: Let this system collapse and start anew, taking into account past mistakes.

A more collaborative, respectful, sincere world that listens to Mother Earth.

Where did the idea for the Fashion Therapist come from?

From a simple observation but often left out ; fashion is a matter of sensitivity.

Looking at a garment is a projection into the mind and history of a creator.

Comment as-tu vécu le confinement ?

La première semaine du confinement j’étais assez excitée. Je suis rentrée de Paris début mars. En Argentine, le gouvernement avait décidé que toutes les personnes qui venaient d’un pays à risque, devait rester isolée, tout ça avant de déclarer la quarantaine. La deuxième semaine, je me suis sentie assez angoissée concernant le travail et mon futur.

J’ai su rebondir, j’ai trouvé la solution de pouvoir continuer ma production en organisant le travail de mes tricoteuses à domicile . Ce fut un vrai soulagement pour elle et pour moi. Maintenant je souhaite que cette situations se termine bientôt.

How did you experience containment?

The first week of lockdown I was pretty excited. I got back from Paris at the beginning of March. In Argentina, the government had decided that all people who came from a country at risk had to remain isolated, all this before declaring quarantine. The second week I felt quite anxious about work and my future. I was able to bounce back, I found the solution to be able to continue my production by organizing the work of my knitters at home . It was a real relief for them and for me. Now I hope that this situation will end soon.

Frame of mind : "back to the roots" Quelle a été ta plus grande frustration ?

Je ne sens pas particulièrement de frustration, je sens le désir d’être libre plus que jamais. J’ ai du mal à vivre l’interdiction qui nous prive de notre liberté.

Parfois je rêve d’un monde meilleur dans ce pays qui est le mien et qui vit déjà une crise sans précédent. Je n’aurai jamais imaginé vivre une telle épreuve au XXI ème siècle.

What was your biggest frustration?

I don’t feel particularly frustrated I feel the desire to have freedom more than ever. I feel that we are deprived of our own freedom. Sometimes I would love and I dream of a better world, especially in Argentina that already lives an unprecedented crisis. I would never imagined to live such an ordeal in the XXI century.

Quelle a été la plus grande découverte sur toi ?

J’ai découvert que j’aimais cuisiner, je n’aurai jamais imaginé être si créative en faisant des plats variés tous les jours.

Je me suis rendue compte que j’aimais passer du temps chez moi.

J’ai plaisir à passer beaucoup de temps avec mes chats et mon mari. J’ai découvert que la créativité s’exprimait plus le soir. La journée, je m’occupe de la maison et de moi-même, et je fais un peu de sport. J’adore la nuit.

What was your greatest discovery about yourself?

I discovered that I love to cook, I never imagined that I could be so creative by making a variety of dishes every day. I realized that I loved spending time at home. I enjoy spending a lot of time with my cats and my husband. I discovered that creativity is better in the evenings. During the day, I take care of myself and my cats, and I do a bit of sports. I love the night.

Quel est ton rêve le plus fou pour un monde meilleur ?

Quand j’étais plus jeune, je pensais que la terre sur laquelle je vis était le meilleur monde pour y vivre et y partager des expériences. Aujourd’hui avec tout ce qui se passe, les injustices, les guerres et maintenant cette pandémie je me demande si c’était vraiment ce monde que je voulais pour moi et pour mes êtres chers. Pourquoi existe-t-il ce pouvoir mesquin des hommes contre la nature, la planète, les animaux et contre lui-même?

Je crois que j’ai trouvé une des réponses : l’Hypocrisie.

What is your craziest dream for a better world?

When I was younger, I thought that the land I live on, was the best place to live and share experiences, but now with all that is happening, injustices, wars, and now this pandemic, I wonder if this is really the world I wanted for me and my loved ones. Why is there this petty power of men against nature, the planet, the animals and against himself? I think I have found one of the answers: Hypocrisy.

Que feras-tu quand tu sortiras de ce confinement ?

Je me pose cette question et je ne sais pas. Parfois je sens de l’angoisse et de la peur, comment sera le monde après ça.

Une des premières choses que je ferai : aller voir mes parents chez moi à la campagne, partager des moments avec eux.

Finalement on se rend compte que la vie est si fragile, j’ai de la chance d’avoir ma famille. Concernant mon travail, je sens une vraei opportunité pour des marques comme la mienne. Les paradigmes du monde de la mode doivent changer et ils vont changer. J’attends avec impatience!

Je suis certaine que c’est une opportunité pour tous les jeunes entrepreneurs comme moi de créer, de produire, de communiquer, de faire de belles choses en étant sincères.

C’est le retour aux sources avec des valeurs de solidarité, d’éducation, et l’éthique qui vont sauver ce monde.

What will you do when you get out of this lockdown?

I ask myself this question and I don’t know, sometimes I feel anxiety and fear about what the world will be like after that. One of the first things I will do is to go to my parents’ house in the countryside and share moments with them. Eventually I realize that life is so fragile and I am lucky to have my family.

Concerning the professional I feel a real opportunity for brands like mine, the paradigms of the fashion world must and will change. I’m looking forward to it, I’m sure it’s an opportunity for all young entrepreneurs like me and so many others to create, produce, communicate, do beautiful things being real. It is Back to the roots with values of solidarity, education, and ethics that will save this world.

État d’esprit : "le meilleur est encore à venir!"

La première personne qui m’a parlée de Artsi Frah est Florence Rouanet, fondatrice des boutiques Victoires à Paris. Je partais à la Fashion Week de Milan et connaissant ma passion pour l’artisanat et la création, elle a insisté pour que je vois son exposition. Ce fût la découverte de la Saison A/H20. Retour aux sources avec pudeur, aux racines avec magie, Artsi Ifrah est un artiste plus qu’un créateur car il ne joue pas avec notre patrimoine, il le fait vivre avec agilité et beauté.

Mon intuition me dit que cet homme apporte une vision intéressante de ce que nous pouvons attendre de la mode dans les prochaines années. Artsi Ifrah, né à Jérusalem, a trouvé du réconfort au Maroc après avoir vécu à Tel-Aviv, Paris et Amsterdam. Il a créé une marque emblématique et unique grâce à sa compréhension approfondie du multiculturalisme. Artsi dit qu’il croit que "la mode est une partie de l’art qui nous parle à travers la culture et l’individualité". Il poursuit en expliquant : "Je suis un autodidacte total, je ne travaille pas avec des compétences de conception, je travaille avec de la créativité et de l’intuition".

The first person who told me about Artsi Frah was Florence Rouanet, founder of the Victoires boutiques in Paris. I was going to the Milan Fashion Week and knowing my passion for craftsmanship and creation, she insisted that I see her exhibition. It was the discovery of the AH20 Season. Back to the roots with modesty, to the roots with magic, Artsi Ifrah is an artist more than a creator because he doesn’t play with our heritage, he makes it live with agility and beauty. My intuition tells me that this man brings an interesting vision of what we can expect from fashion in the coming years. Jerusalem-born designer Artsi Ifrach found solace in Morocco after living in Tel Aviv, Paris and Amsterdam.

He has created an iconic and unique brand through his extensive understanding of multiculturalism.

Artsi says that he believes ‘fashion is a part of art that tells something about us through culture and individuality.’ He goes onto to explain “I am a total autodidact, I am not working with designing skills, I am working with creativity and intuition.”

Comment as-tu vécu le confinement ?

Il y a plusieurs étapes, et c’est bouleversant à bien des égards, la 1ère vague était une grande peur, la 2ème était la colère et la 3ème l’acceptation de la situation.

Mais à travers cette étape, il y a beaucoup de réflexions sur ce que nous avons eu, ce que nous avons et ce que nous vivons.

How did you experience containment?

It is many stages, and it is overwhelming in many ways, the 1st stage was a big fear, the 2nd one was anger and the 3rd accepting the situation. But through this stage there is a lot of reflection of what we had what we have and what we are going through.

Quelle a été ta plus grande frustration ?

Que nous ne l’ayons pas vu venir, et que nous ayons été trop occupés par les choses inutiles qui affectent notre avenir.

Nous n’avons pas compris le pouvoir que nous avons en nous-mêmes et ce que nous pouvons apporter à travers nous. La créativité n’est pas seulement une grande source de consommation, c’est aussi une grande source d’éducation et de responsabilité. Il est très difficile d’arriver à ce point dans la vie, pour en arriver à reconnaître cela, alors que nous pourrions l’éviter.

Frame of mind : "the best is yet to come" What was your biggest frustration?

That we didnt sees it coming, and we were too busy to the unnecessary thing that affect our future. we did not understand the power of ourselves and what we can deliver through ourselves. Creativity is not just a great source of consuming is also a great source of education and responsibility. And it is very tough to arrive to this point in life to come to a point to acknowledge that while we could prevent it.

Quelle a été la plus grande découverte sur toi ?

Que j’ai plus confiance en moi que je ne me comprends et que l’action passée m’a été très utile pour le moment présent, car je doutais parfois moi-même.

Je suis beaucoup plus résistant et reconnaissant pour la vie qui nous reste à vivre.

What was your greatest discovery about yourself?

That I trust myself more that I understand me and the action in the past was very helpful for me for this present time, as i was doubting sometime myself. That I am far more resilient and grateful for the life we still need to live.

Que ce cauchemar soit terminé et que nous devenions tous meilleurs pour nous-mêmes et pour le monde.

Consommer moins, consommer mieux, cela pourrait être assez sauvage.

What is your craziest dream for a better world?

That this nightmare will be over and we all became better for ourself and the world. Consuming less consuming better, thats could be wild enough.

Que feras-tu quand tu sortiras de ce confinement ?

Je vais d’abord aller dans mon atelier et toucher mes pièces très aimées, mon environnement de travail me manque.

De ma place et de ma créativité, je ferai la même chose car je faisais et appliquais déjà une autre façon de faire les choses, et je crois que c’est la bonne voie pour l’avenir. Je m’impliquerai beaucoup plus dans mon travail à l’échelle mondiale et j’essaierai de travailler sur place pour faire une différence pour nous et pour tout le monde.

What will you do when you get out of this lockdown?

I will go first to my atelier and touch my very beloved pieces, I miss my working environment. From my place and creativity I will do the same because I was already doing and applying oder way to do things, and I believe that is the right way for the future. I will be much more involve with my work worldwide and I will try to work in place to make a difference for us for everybody.
