The sale will be broadcast live on the internet at www. cattleusa. com. Go to that site, then click on “View” at Mobridge Livestock. There is a slight time delay in the action, so for any live bidding you will also need to make arrangements with the Mobridge Livestock Market far enough in advance. Visitors welcome at the ranches, advance calls appreciated. Pictures of the horses in the sale were taken in July. Weanlings will have been caught and handled, and a halter will be given with every horse sold.
SALE TERMS
The highest bidder is to be the buyer. If any dispute arises between two bidders, sole authority to settle the dispute as he sees fit is reserved by the auctioneer, and his decision shall be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Terms of the sale are cash; personal checks are considered cash. All Canadian buyers must pay in U.S. funds or equivalent.
Horses are at the buyer’s expense, risk, and responsibility from the time of purchase, but no delivery will be made until final settlement has been made. The buyer must make arrangements for the care of his horse if it is not taken on sale day.
All registration papers will be held by the sellers until all checks clear the bank, normally about two weeks. At such time, they along with the transfer forms and fees, will be mailed to AQHA for transfer
to the new owners. Buyers will be charged the $40 transfer fee on the Quarter Horses, and this will be added to the purchase price. If they are not a current member of AQHA, they will be billed another $65 membership fee by AQHA before papers are returned. If any buyers wish to obtain papers on sale day, they must pay in cash or certified check.
Health certificates will be issued for transportation purposes sale day on request by Oahe Veterinary Clinic. Horses will all be Coggins tested. Brand clearance available.

“Pendleton” is a beautiful 15.2 hand sorrel with a long flaxen mane and tail, and his three white stockings add to his chromed up appearance. He shows the athletic ability and calm mindset that was expected from his breeding.

He qualified in both the SD State 4H Rodeo Finals and the SD State High School Rodeo Finals in barrels and poles; the NBHA World Finals in both the youth and open divisions; is a money earner in barrels and breakaway in the NIRA Great Plains Region, SDRA and NRCA; stood Grand Champion in the Bold Heart Stallion Halter Classic in consecutive years; is a multiple saddle winner in barrels and all-around; and won the Youth Breeder and Open Maturity Class in barrel racing at the Bold Heart. “Patron” is a son of FA Rockstar that we unexpectedly lost at an early age. Rockstar was a son of Eddie Stinson bred with a ROM granddaughter of Streakin Six. Before his death, he had produced some very competitive horses for us. He carried a powerful pedigree with Eddie Stinson (SI 111) by Dash Ta Fame (SI 113). Eddie Stinson progeny are very successful in the futurity races and he himself had LTE over $200,000 and was the 2021 #4 leading sire of barrel and speed event money earners. Dash Ta Fame does not need an introduction as his legacy is monumental. Patron’s dam is an own daughter of millionaire sire Frenchmans Fabulous who is a 7/8 brother to Bozo and Dinero and is the #1 siring son of Frenchmans Guy.
When Rockstar passed, he had already sired a son (Patron) who we had intended to compete on. But with our purchase of a few new fillies to breed, we needed a young stud to cover them. The decision was made to start Patron’s training and decide if he should be kept a stallion. When we asked the trainer how he did, two thumbs up and big smile sealed the fate of Patron who then became our junior stallion.

This colt is one of two of the last of “Drifter” babies as we lost him this year. Both of his foals are extremely friendly and carry that beautiful buckskin color. This colt is an extremely heavy built, strong, straight colt and will be up for the toughest challenges. The dam, “Bertie” is an absolutely beautiful mare that produces really great minded colts. We have been told by a couple of previous buyers that her colts can run too. This colt’s great grandsire, Doc’s Jack Frost, is known mostly as a barrel horse sire now but was a top sire of cutting horses as well and he sired the honor roll cutting horse 3 years in a row. Don’t miss out on this chunk of a colt.

He produced a second beautiful buckskin but this one being a filly. “Robbie” is a granddaughter of the great Gallo Del Cielo (“Rooster”) who is a NCHA Derby finalist, has his NCHA Certificate of Ability, is a leading NRHA, NRCHA and AQHA performance sire and is a NRHA $3 million sire. This filly also goes back to Watch Tyrees Dude who was an AQHA world qualifier. We married these cutting/reining abilities with “Drifter’s” vast rodeo and ranching proven lineage and foaled this stand-out, beautiful, friendly filly.
This colt’s dam is the granddaughter of the great AQHA Hall of Famer, Streakin Six, the granddaughter of AQHA Hall of Famer Dashingly (by Dash For Cash) and granddaughter of Zevi who goes back to Bold Ruler. “Jaggars” dam, Miss Jaggars, also earned her AQHA racing ROM. We bought back this filly’s dam because of the Drop Of Frost breeding and also because this dam’s dam has always produced exceptional foals for us. They are extremely user friendly and end up being their owners’ go-to horses. This filly’s granddam is from the Broken Heart Ranch program and their stud BHR Super Frost who is a son of Frenchmans Guy. First, we crossed that speed and agility with our “Drifter” and now we have added in the beauty of “Pendleton”. This palomino filly will be a head turning, fast moving machine. Last year’s progeny turned out to be extremely trainable and an earlier foal from this mix is extremely quick footed. This filly has that gorgeous and unique reddish buckskin color.
We often say that we should have put this dam in the riding pasture instead of taking her straight to the breeding pasture as she is the most personable mare we have. The Sun Frost and Drop of Frost combination has always been good for us. There is cutting, reining, roping and barrel racing in the bloodlines and champions in their disciplines. This colt is friendly, as are all the foals from this mare and will be an easy one to train. He will be a very nice riding colt and he might turn black as he ages.
PC Shesa Docodual is the granddaughter of Dual Pep who won over $300,000 in NCHA earnings and sired earners of over $25 million. Her other grandsire, Doc O Dynamite, was an all-time leading cutting sire who also sired earners in reining, roping and barrel racing. This good-looking filly is put together correctly. We are riding a 5 year old maternal brother and he is extremely easy going, a quick learner and an all-around great horse to ride. This mare will be the same.

Breakin Da Bank
We purchased Breakin Da Bank from the 2021 Webb Ranch sale. Our intention was to campaign this genetic gem who has a great personality and tons of character! In late October 2021 Breakin Da Bank is was seriously injured, with a life threatening injury and spent the next six weeks under the care of Colorado State University’s Equine Surgery team. We are grateful they were able to save him, and that he is breeder sound. We are thrilled he is breeding mares, and excited about his progeny. Unfortunately Breaking Da Bank was laid to rest as he was reinjured and couldn’t be saved this time around. We have two foals in this years sale and will have two younger foals that will be offered next year as yearling prospects.

AKA Sundance was purchased from the Heritage Sale and was in race training but did not make it to the track due to an injury. He is a stout made, bigger boned beautiful gray stallion with an incredible set of manners. Breakin Da Bank received his injury the night before we were going to turn him out with his mares. Sundance got the nod and was turned out with all the mares for the 2024 breeding season. Sundance is sired by the KVN Corona a AAA 95 Speed Index horse with winnings on 10 races of $868,077. As we mentioned, Rumble comes from a high profile pedigree of runners and he proudly passes that speed in his genetics to all of his offspring. BHR Go Jackie Go performed on the track as a 2 year old and now finds herself as the dam to one of the best colts in our 2024 crop. Jackie’s manners and patience are as good as they come as she allows our 2 and 4 year old to do whatever they want around her and we anticipate much of the same with Cisco. Go Go Cisco is a head turning colt with unique color to him that floats over the ground when he moves and has the best disposition. Good headed, long hipped, correct and has the genetics to be a champion.
FA Butterscotch comes from the proven genetics of Five Arrow Quarter Horses a PC Frosty Drifter mare and she produced a stunning stud colt this spring.
