Feeder cattle were too thinly traded this week to accurately trend any weight ranges when compared to the last offering. Slaughter cows traded mostly steady to 3.00 higher, while slaughter bulls were 4.00 to 5.00 higher. Replacement cattle traded sharply higher. Today’s offerings were mostly bred cattle ranging from heifers to aged cattle. In feeder cattle, the run consisted of 39 percent steers, 58 percent heifers and 3 percent bulls. Approximately 56 percent of the run weighed over 600 pounds. The total run consisted of 22 percent feeder cattle, 51 percent replacement cattle and the balance in slaughter cows and bulls. The next available report will be December 5, 2018. SLAUGHTER COW & BULL AUCTION RESULTS STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last sale: Slaughter cows traded 2.00 to 3.00 higher, while slaughter bulls were steady. Feeding cows traded steady to 5.00 higher. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate. The supply was comprised of approximately 57% slaughter cows and bulls with the balance being feeding cows.
