The Academies: K-Prep 4 through 5th Grade

Agility Academy - Agility Academy is an exciting and fun group for 2nd to 5th graders, focused on boosting speed, quickness, and agility through playful drills and activities. Each session includes games and activities that improve footwork, coordination, and reaction time, helping young athletes grow their skills Along with the physical fun, we’ll also gather for a short Bible devotion, where kids can learn valuable lessons about faith, teamwork, and perseverance. Agility Academy provides a positive, faith-filled environment where kids can stay active, have fun, and build both their athletic abilities and their relationship with God.

Amazing Athletes- Our multi-sport program introduces children to the fundamentals of 10 sports in a fun, non-competitive environment, helping them to develop physical literacy, learn about nutrition and muscle identification, and master 6 key motor skills: throwing, catching, balancing, running, jumping, and kicking Sports include football, hockey, basketball, golf, volleyball, track and field, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, and tennis!

Archery - Come check out what Archery is all about! In Archery, you will start shooting from 10 yards and learn the basics first: parts of the bow and arrow, steps of shooting, whistle commands, and safety regulations. After the basics are covered, arrow firing begins! All skill levels are welcome. A certified USA Archery instructor will be helping students each week

Ballet and Jazz Combo (Year-Round) - We are excited to welcome back Miss Abby Williamson to lead The Academies Ballet classes this year! Miss Abby provides a professional, artistic, and fun learning environment for all ages and levels. Your child will learn elements of both ballet and jazz to help improve their strength, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, and balance. Ballet and Jazz Combo class runs from August 26, 2024 through May 5, 2025, and will end in a showcase for parents to attend on May 16, 2025 Spring Tuition is due for those currently registered

Board Game Buddies - A fun after school class for TK-1st graders, where students get to explore and play a variety of board games! Each week, kids will try out different types of games, from simple matching and memory games to interactive adventure and strategy games, all designed to suit their age and abilities The class encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills as they play

together, take turns, and enjoy learning new games It's a great way for kids to bond, have fun, and discover the joy of board games!

Chess Club - Let's get excited about learning chess! Chess club will start with the basics of piece movements, checks, and checkmates The class will engage students to think critically, while playing against fellow classmates and the teacher. By the end of the session, you can expect to play a full game of chess, regardless of their age or skill level. Breakout rooms enable students to receive custom content matching their skill level.

This team is perfect for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels who are looking to sharpen their strategies, improve their game, and experience the thrill of competitive play. No travel, no hassle—the matches are through Rookly’s online platform, featuring integrated video and a live leaderboard. Compete alongside 100-plus schools across the country, including Horace Mann, Riverdale, Seacrest Country Day, and many others. The matches are open to students in 3rd through 8th grade

Creating with the

Creator: Engaging God's Word and Presence in Art

This art class invites students to deepen their creative expression by engaging with the Word of God and inviting His presence into their artwork. Through a combination of prayer, reflection on Scripture, and hands-on art-making, students will explore how God's guidance and inspiration can shape their artistic process Each piece becomes an act of worship, a conversation with the divine, and an expression of faith. Students will be encouraged to seek God's presence in their work, using their creative gifts as a means of connecting with and honoring His divine purpose. This class fosters spiritual growth, personal reflection, and the joy of creating art as a form of devotion to God our creator.

Flag Football League - Our Lower School Flag Football League is back! We are excited to continue partnering with other local schools for the spring. Practice will be held once per week at TFA on Tuesdays Games will start the second week of Session 2, and will be once per week at rotating schools Games will be on Thursdays after school More details on game times and locations will be announced closer to the start of the season (Max number of students depends on coaching availability)

Futsal - D2 Futsal’s objective is to provide high-quality futsal training to children interested in improving their soccer skills while also having fun. Futsal is a dynamic form of soccer, highly recommended for both novice and experienced players who wish to enhance their abilities and game understanding. Their teaching methodology is based on ecological dynamics, where we focus on developing players' ability to read the game and improve their decision-making skills to effectively solve the challenges that arise during play The importance of life values, teamwork, resilience, and discipline are emphasized in the program.

Golf - Lower School Golf combines athletic skill development, hand-eye coordination, lessons in honesty, responsibility, courtesy, sportsmanship and perseverance. Coach Shelburne will help students to advance their skills and knowledge of the game of golf through drills, competition and fun! Players are recommended to bring their own clubs if they are in the Intermediate or Beginner classes. It is required for students to bring their own clubs for the Advanced class.

Karate Zoo - With the help of our Muscle Zoo friends, we teach the fundamentals of martial arts in this high-energy progression-based program Students learn & practice the traditions & skills of the sport, and receive colored belts and stripes for their achievements. Hi-yah!

Kindness Club - Welcome to Kindness Club, where students will learn the power of kindness and other Fruits of the Spirit from the Bible. Each high-energy class is filled with activities like playing games, making meaningful crafts, and creating joyful music. Through stories, teamwork, and creative projects, kids in Kindness Club will discover how to practice love, joy, peace, patience, and more in their daily lives. This club is all about building friendships, growing hearts, and spreading positivity in a fun, faith-filled environment Students will learn how God’s Word is applicable in their everyday life and how living out God’s truth brings God’s peace in all relationships. Come join us as we learn to live out kindness in every way!

Royal Choir - Do you love to sing? Do you want to share your voice with others? If so, join the Lower School Choir and become a part of a musical family! The Lower School Choir is for students who have a passion for singing and learning new songs. You will meet one day a week (either Tuesday or Thursday before school) with Mrs. Savage, the LS Music teacher, and practice your vocal skills and harmony. You will also have the chance to perform at various events throughout the school year and showcase your talent to your family and community. The Lower School Choir is a fun and rewarding experience that will help you grow as a singer and a person Don’t miss this opportunity to join the Lower School Choir and make some beautiful music together! Royal Rising Stars - The Royal Rising Stars course will give your students the opportunity to see what it’s like to put on a stage production and to have their light shine bright on stage! They will master stage directions, blocking, and line memorization all while building confidence and having fun Each class will include theater games, improv exercises and acting techniques This course will culminate in a Royal Rising Stars Showcase at the end of Session 4, on May 16, 2025

Tennis - Tennis will focus on learning and developing the fundamentals of tennis including groundstrokes, volleys, serves, footwork, scoring, and match play Each session will include individual instruction, group drills, fun games, and team and individual competitions Players will need to wear athletic tennis shoes and bring water and a racket daily All skill levels are welcome Tennis will be held on the Lower School courts during sessions 3 and 4.

UpField Soccer (Year-Round) - Year-Round Program continuing on January 9th - a K-Prep 4 soccer clinic designed for those parents looking for a fun and non-competitive soccer-focused extracurricular activity to add to their little one ’ s schedule. Clinics are delivered in an environment designed to ensure that kids have fun, but also learn skills along the way!

Wii Sports Club - Get ready for an exciting after-school experience with our new Wii Sports Club! This class brings the fun and action of virtual sports right to the big screen, offering kids a chance to play games like tennis, bowling, baseball, and boxing all in a safe, engaging environment Students will get active, improve hand-eye coordination, and enjoy friendly competition with their classmates. Each week, players work on teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship while learning the basics of different sports through interactive gameplay. Perfect for all experience levels, Wii Sports Club is a unique way to get moving, make new friends, and have loads of fun after school!

Basketball Clinic - Join Coach T, TFA Varsity Basketball Coach, as players focus on the fundamentals of basketball, including shooting techniques, defensive techniques, passing, ball handling, and rebounding. Each day will include individual instruction along with team and individual competitions. Your child will improve their basketball skills and abilities in a competitive environment that features a daily spiritual emphasis. All skill levels are welcome. Tennis shoes are required.

Music: Private Lessons - Ace Music Academy is here to help the youth of TFA achieve their musical goals! We offer a broad array of music classes in which we challenge our students to reach their full musical potential. Our instructors teach these individual music classes using the teaching methods that best suit the student’s learning style and experience. Choose from the following instruments: piano, voice, guitar, violin, trumpet, saxophone, and more!
