This is the time of the year when being a Floridian really pays off. We’ve put in our time sweating out the long, hot summer. Now, as the rest of the country descends into cold and shadow, the Sunshine State is treated to crisp, cool nights and generally mild daytime temperatures.

If you plan on surfing, hopefully you took the time last spring to give your wetsuits a good rinse before hanging them up for the summer, because it’s time to pull them out of the closet. The good news is that means we’re heading into the most consistent months of the year for surf, with frequent cold fronts and low-pressure systems pushing off the coast. Keep an eye on South Florida for the next few months for an opportunity to take a road trip and shed the wetsuit. North swells that are cold and sloppy in Central Florida often sneak through the small window west of the Bahamas, reaching South Florida beaches to produce long, groomed lefts in warm, and turquoise water. With cooler weather also comes a diverse array of seasonal visitors to our area. Migratory patterns bring a plethora of fish and bird species to the Florida peninsula, providing recreational fishing and hunting opportunities along with a chance for birders to gawk at everything from eagles to painted buntings. Meanwhile, a far less favorable

migration is underway as snowbirds of the non-avian variety descend upon their condos for the winter, clogging streets and grocery store aisles with more semi-conscious wanderers by the day. Above all else though, the dominant theme over the next two months is the holidays. Life in modern society is complicated for most of us, we all have things that need to get done, and slowing down can be difficult. But from Thanksgiving through the new year weâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll have the opportunity share great food and drink with family and friends, exchange gifts, reflect on what has transpired, and anticipate what is to come. So grab a glass of eggnog and do your best to kick back and let it all soak in. And the next time you get stuck behind a little old lady going 8mph, just remember you could be wearing five layers of winter clothes and shoveling snow just to get out of your driveway. Tell us something about you that might surprise us? I’ve swam with sharks! The last scuba dive trip I took in West Palm brought a surprise frenzy of lemon and black tip sharks, and that was one of the best experiences of my life!! How many times a day do you use social media? (tell us the truth) Well, according to my phone I’m only on social media for about 1.5 hours a day. After not having it for a while, it’s easier to not get sucked in. Be present in the moment! If you were a skittle, what color would you be and why? Orange... 100% the best flavor of anything. When you listen to music, do you pay attention to lyrics or the melodies and beats? Both! But if the lyrics aren’t good then...thumbs down. What do you enjoy the most about modeling? To be honest, this was my first modeling shoot. It was fairly easy and can take you to some beautiful places. I could get used this... Real House Wife's or Sunday Night Football? Neither, ha! Got a boyfriend? I do not. Worst Pickup Line? Do you know how much a polar bear weighs? Me neither... but enough to break the ice! Most important thing on a first date? I think it’s important to just be yourself! Laughter is the best medicine. If you had to live in another state besides Florida, which state would you choose and why? Living in Colorado would be pretty sweet because I love the art culture and nature it has to offer. Best Beach? I really enjoy visiting Vilano Beach in St.Augustine, and the town adds a bonus for some fun night life. Favorite celebrity? Brinkley Davies. She is a marine biologist, professional surfer and all around badass woman! Who’s the hottest- Surfers, Skaters, Wakeboarder, Musicians or Artist? All the above. I love Fluid magazine because? It’s the best magazine in town! Who doesn’t love it? What does the future hold for the lovely Brittany? I plan to finish school and continue to just accept the ebb and flow of wherever life takes me, creating new experiences, travel, and friendships!

Congrats on the new location in Port Orange. You guys outdid yourself, the setup is amazing! How's the response been so far? We’ve been blown away by the response! The community is stoked and excited to have another great option beachside. Tell us about the partners who are involved with this location and their backgrounds? Jose and Vanessa Cifuentes are the main players that make everything happen you see every day in the restaurant. Way behind the scenes is Bobby Zitzka and Michael Benedict, both local natives. All three have been friends since the college days and dreamt this day up one day to have a great restaurant that reflected the area vibe and great food.

We love the feel of the place and the vibe, how would you describe the atmosphere at Jimmy Hula's? A fun, beachy place to visit, relax and have a great meal. Also a great place to stop on the way home from the beach to pick up lunch or dinner for the fam. What separates Jimmy Hula's from other restaurants in the area? A very different menu that is full of flavor at a great value. We have an eclectic mix of options from tacos to burgers to poke to big salads and killer sides. Something for everyone.

Your menu is out of this world goodness, I know it's tough to narrow it down, but what are some of the crowd favorites? The locals are ordering the poke up in droves! For tacos – the Kingston, Killer and Wipeout are at the top of the list. For Burgers – People can’t get enough of the Aloha and Santa Barbara. Everyone seems to start with the Cabo Trio too! Do you have weekly specials? Yeah man! We have a great happy hour M-F from 3-6p: $3 house wine and domestics, $4 craft beer and premium drinks, $5 margaritas and sangrias. On weekends the brunch is on fire! We have $10 All-You-Can-Drink Mimosas and $3 Bloody Mary’s (112p) with a special brunch menu that is only available on Saturday and Sunday. Not all locations serve liquor, but Port Orange does. Do you have signature drinks you feature? They don’t, but Port Orange and Ormond do! The most requested specialty cocktail drinks are the Hula Mula and Painkiller. When someone visits your restaurant for the first time, what do you want them to take from the experience? Great Vibe! Excellent meal that is served by the friendliest people! How important has the following been from the surfing and fishing communities? We know you have a huge support system from them. We love it. It means a lot to us how the community has embraced us. We could not have imagined how much everyone has come out to support us. Means a ton! If you had to use three words to sum up Jimmy Hula's what would they be? Food Nirvana, bruh. Besides the Fluid Party on January 18th, is there any other events you'll be hosting in the next few months? Ha! The following day, 1/19, all the restaurants and businesses are putting on a charity event corn hole tournament. It’s going to be an awesome day under the bridge. Any last words or shout outs? A huge thanks to all of the artists, locals, surfers and local companies who worked on or donated everything you see on our walls in the restaurant!

The local support is what keeps us going. Focusing on excellent products and service is one thing, but if small businesses can't get support from the real "influencers" aka the locals then you have a much harder time thriving. Having people like the Geiselmans and the @nsbbites/@nsbinlet crew behind us has been a huge help. We wouldn't be here talking to you today if it wasn't for people like them. @gojuice

These days it seems more and more people are seeking to live a healthy and simple, yet fulfilling lifestyle that leaves minimal impacts on our environment. When it comes to eating out, that objective often proves illusive. Enter GoJuice, the manifestation of a vision arising from the beaches of Costa Rica where the mantra “Pura Vida” or “Pure Life” is not just a saying but a way of living. Serving up a variety of juices, smoothies, coffee, bowls and more, the crew at GoJuice strives to deliver purity through healthy food and responsible business practices that help everyone thrive. Hand selecting produce from local markets, the use of compostable utensils, and weekly specials that benefit locals are just a few of ways they go the extra mile to do things the right way. And as a bonus, their two locations in Nosara, Costa Rica, and one in each of New Smyrna Beach and Amelia Island will never take you more than walking distance from the beach. With five years of success under their belt and some exciting expansions on the horizon, we sat down to get a little more of an in depth look at the driving force behind this blossoming local business.

Yeah guys! Thanks for sitting down with us to tell us about the amazing concept known as GoJuice. Who does the GoJuice team consist of and what are their roles? Thanks guys! Apart from our epic crew of Juice Boys and Juice Girls that keep the wheels running, we have Nick Fairman who founded GoJuice and is working on driving expansion through our franchise side, Dylan Smith is our Operations guru constantly tweaking things to make them better, and Michael Dunphy is the Chief Surf Officer out on the road bringing us home ideas and helping us spread the word.

How did GoJuice get started and get where it is today? GoJuice started down in Nosara Costa Rica in 2014 where there are now 2 locations. One of our mottos is, "GoJuice was created not only to live but to THRIVE!"... which was the driving force behind its creation. Nick was looking for a way to live a great lifestyle in an amazing place and GoJuice was the answer, allowing him to connect to the local community through relationships with healthy food and it's people. That's wild, what a success story! How many locations are there currently? Along with the two in Costa we have our NSB location and Amelia Island on the north coast of Florida, with a couple more in the works here in Volusia County. How important is locally sourcing food? Very important! We source as much locally as we can. From working with local coffee roasters/shops in each Go Juice location, to daily and weekly farmers markets and produce runs (shout out Perrines). Being able to see and pick all the products that go into our menu items really makes what we do one of a kind. GoJuice focuses on utilizing environmentally friendly supplies, tell us a little more about that? We are a company created near the ocean. Literally all of our locations are within walking distance to the beach. With this in mind we really try to minimize our impact on the local environment, especially the oceans where not just our company culture is based around but also our individual lifestyles. We use wooden spoons, compostable plastics, and are constantly working on sourcing new products such as hay straws and composting solutions. These things may have a negative impact on our bottom line as they are quite a bit more expensive, but we would rather benefit our stakeholders which include not just the local people but the animals

What are your top selling items? Even though our name is GoJuice you would be surprised to know our top sellers are our bowls. Especially anything with our home made natural peanut butter. Also gotta mention our original Banana Coffee... That sh*t is bananas b-a-n-a-n-a-s, sorry couldn't help myself. Do you run any weekly specials? As mentioned before, locals make or break you. Because of that we have had a lot of success with our "Locals Discount Monday," offering half off juices/smoothies and 25% off bowls to locals in the community. This is our way of giving thanks to the people that work hard day in and day out to make our beach towns something special for the tourists that flock to our beaches.

When a customer leaves your place, what do you want them to take from the experience? The Costa Rican term "Pura Vida" is something we have brought with us from where it all began. It translates to "Pure Life" and is more a feeling than a saying. That is certainly the feeling we hope all our guests feel when they leave GoJuice. Any last words or shout outs? A big thanks to you guys at Fluid Mag for always appreciating small businesses and giving us an avenue to spread the word. Also thanks to our friends and family who are constantly lending a hand around the shop, if it wasn't for them Dylan would forget to water the plants (that's a shout out to you Lisa Dunphy). 23

BEST AND WORST OF 2019:

Twenty-nine-year-old professional surfer Michael Dunphy gets paid to travels the world competing on the WSL, chasing perfect waves, and accumulating footage for his next video section. We recently caught up with him as he prepares to compete in The Triple Crown of Surfing on the North Shore of Oahu to gain some insight into his best and worst calls of 2019.

Best trip? Would have to be the 6 weeks I spent in Indo this summer. So much good surf, amazing, different types of food, and a really cool melting pot of friends from all over the world in one place. Best food? Probably in South Africa. Especially with how good our dollar is compared to the Rand. You can eat fillet mignon like a king for under $10.

Best call? Striking to NY for that 2 day crazy run of waves last month. Worst trip? Probably Portugal in April. I went for some smaller events, didn’t do that well and it was rainy and freezing most of the trip. Worst food? Definitely the worm I ate this summer in Indo haha.

Best chick? Hahahaha, that’s a very broad question. I made a great friend in Newport Beach this summer ;)

Worst chick? I’m not naming names, but she lives close by and she’s crazyyyyyy.

Best flight? First class in your own Pod, LAX to Sydney. It’s like hanging on the couch while getting waited on and served steak.

Worst flight? Lion Airlines. Never have I been so fast on a runway and felt like we weren’t going to get off the ground. Never again.

Best hotel? This summer in Ballito, South Africa. Ocean sunrise views with pumping surf.

Worst hotel? This hotel in Padang, Indonesia. There was still blood on the sheets and the shower water was brown.

Best contest? I’m in Hawaii now for the Triple Crown so hopefully these. But I had a great time this summer going home to Virginia Beach, competing in front of old friends and family and taking second place.

Worst contest? The judging in the Japan event this year. That gave me some sleepless nights.

Best night out? Would have to be in Palm Springs for my good friend Chase Wilson’s wedding. The crew we got together was one for the books and we all sent it. Best barrel? Mentawais this summer in Indo.

Worst night out? New Year’s last year. If you know you know. Hahahaha.

Hi Nick and Alexis, we are thrilled about your new location, congrats! How's the response been so far? Thanks Brother, We are stoked to be up and running. The response has been overwhelming so far. The community is really excited to have something fresh and innovative in the area. We are excited to keep adding to it.

You have some amazing athletes that train at your facility and hype it on social media. What approach do you take when it comes to training professional athletes? We have been fortunate enough to have some very talented professional athletes train here!! It’s an honor to work with such driven individuals. The main goal as a trainer is to help correct damage the specific sport has done to their body. Then it’s time to work on strength, conditioning, and movement. Most of these athletes travel the world and compete year around, so being in top physical condition is extremely Important.

Can you share with us how you got into educating people about personal wellness and training? To make a really long story short.. 15 years ago I was in a terrible accident where I almost lost my left leg. I could not afford physical therapy but I was determined to walk again so I began to rehab my. Body. It was a long a grueling process but I fell in love with taking care of myself. I wanted to help others over come their difficulties and teach them how to take the best care of them selves, so I became a certified personal trainer. Honestly It’s the best job in the world, you get to meet amazing people from all walks of life and have a positive impact. What more could you ask for?! Does Pure Fit have a company motto? “WE MOVE DIFFERENT” If you follow our social media @purefit_nsb you will notice a lot of our equipment and training tools are not found at traditional gyms. Most of these weapons seem intimidating, but they are extremely effective to build strength, balance, and mobility. Our main goal is to help teach people how to overcome muscular and postural imbalances caused by life while implementing a training regiment that can last a life time. Once you learn the fundamentals of how to move correctly, the sky is the limit as to where you can take it.

From the sounds of it, you're able to offer something completely different than anyone else in the surrounding areas, was that your main goal? Our main goal was to offer something for everyone. We offer personal training, group training, group classes, childcare, as well as an open gym. Membership is not required for personal training or to attend classes. We have a real positive funky atmosphere in here and we want people to be able to experience what we have to offer even if you do not have a membership.

If someone hasn't worked out in years and is ready to make life changes, you're well known to be the go-to-guy in our area. What can someone expect from the consultation and first few sessions? The first consultation with a personal trainer will be a fitness assessment. During the assessment we will discuss your life style, medical history, nutrition, and what your personal goals are for training. The first couple sessions we will focus on posture and how you are moving. Everybody has imbalances so it is very important to first identify them and design a program to correct them. Once you become stable we can move on to the next level, building strength, balance, and flexibility. Is there a success story that you are particularly proud of that you can share with us and our readers? That's a tough question because there has been a lot of success stories since I started my career. One that is currently unfolding is one of my former clients Jill Danigel. Jill is a retired fire fighter who was also a

caregiver for both of her parents. She was so busy taking are of everyone else she began neglecting her own health. She was finally ready to make some changes, Jillâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s journey to a healthier life started in fall of 2018. From the beginning we focused on her nutrition, lifestyle, proper movement, and form in the gym. The 23 hours spent outside of the gym is way more pivotal to your success than the hour spent training. She started implementing healthier habits, training on her own time, eating more whole foods, while cutting back on processed foods and sugars. She has stayed committed to her healthier life style and since march of 2019 she is down over 25 pounds. She has become so passionate about her own health that she decided to help others reach their personal goals. Jill recently became a NASM certified personal trainer and is now taking on clients at Pure Fit NSB. Jill's story is very inspiring, make sure to give her a follow her on her journey! @jillsland What type of classes are you offering? Right now we are offering a variety of classes which include yoga, barre, HITT bootcamp, core class, stretching and balance, eccentrics, dance classes, surf strengthening class, and power moves. We are always looking for something new, so if you teach a fitness class and want to be apart of the Pure Fit family, come check us out! What type of certification do your trainers have (and significance of the certification)? All of our trainers are N.A.S.M (National academy of sports medicine) certified. The significance of this certification is a true understanding of the kinetic chain and how the body should properly move through each range of motion. These are the key comments to clients achieving results and preventing injury Give us a breakdown of the average cost for membership, classes and personal training? Our open gym membership is $39 a month and allows key fob access. All of our classes are a drop-in cost of $10. Our all access membership is $89 a month and includes open gym and unlimited classes. Personal training is $30 a half hour and $50 an hour. Group training is $10 for each additional person. (ie. 2 guests is $60, 3 guests is $70, 4 guests is $80). Our childcare is $15 a month. FISHING REPORT KNOWLEDGE OF OUR BREEDER/RED DRUM All year I specialize in the grassy flats, studying, following, reeling in, and releasing redfish in Mosquito lagoon. Here in this estuary big beautiful breeder redfish give birth and keep their young safe from predators. It is a treat for an angler such as myself to reel in one of these beauties and take in the moment. These fish are extremely important, for they give us more life. Please remember during the mullet run when reeling in a Bull Red how important the act of catch and release and proper handling is. Red Drum, or as most of us call them Redfish, are Florida’s most popular sport fish and the states most widespread estuarial fish. How did Red Drum get their name you ask? Because of the “drumming” sound they make when taken out of the water during spawning. Redfish inhabit the inshore and offshore waters throughout the Gulf of Mexico and along the Atlantic coast from Massachusetts to Key West. Red Drum in Florida can reach up to lengths of fifty-two inches, that being my largest personal record, and weighing up to fifty-one plus pounds. During the Fall large Red Drum move into the beaches during the months of September through November. Tides carry them into estuaries where fish can spend their first few years between the ages of three to six. The over slot limit of twenty-seven inches is when fish leave the estuary and join the spawning stock. Please practice proper handling, as well as catch and release of our Red Drum. WINTER IN MOSQUITO LAGOON Hello Winter breeze! Fishing in the Winter months is my favorite time of the year to fish Mosquito Lagoon. The water levels are finally dropping, and the water clarity has improved tremendously and will continue with the cooler weather coming in. As cold fronts start to become more frequent Red fish, big Trout and Black Drum will start to form into bigger schools. With the right timing you can have a very successful day in the lagoon pulling plenty of fish to the boat! WINTER BAIT As the water temps drop you will start to find Snook stacked up. As you all know I fish from kayak and skiff and enjoy paddling down the

canals and up to dock lights. I have been finding Snook of all sizes schooled up together in the evening or early morning hours. I find working an artificial or free lining a jumbo shrimp most effective. One of my favorite lures for Snook is a DOA paddle-tail jig, but as you all know Snook can’t resist those top waters. A Badonkadonk or Bomber is my goto. Watching a Snook smash one of these will certainly leave you feeling fulfilled! COOL WATER BITE The Redfish bite has been really good! You will start to see the bigger girls coming in the Lagoon and finding them laid up in the sand spots. I haven't really seen any schools of Redfish yet. They are still scattered around the flats and gravitating toward shorelines and mangroves in Mosquito Lagoon. As the cold fronts start to come in more frequently Redfish will start to form into bigger schools. I find freelining mullet has been the bait of choice but those who know me know I never hit the water without being fully prepared with live bait and artificials. Soft plastic jerk baits and spoons are great producers for lure action. The Trout bite is really picking up! The cooler water has the big girls coming through, laying up in the sand spots for most of the day. They are gearing up for the cooler water and bait is plentiful. The trout are suckers for free-lined mullet and pigfish. In between fronts, big Trout can be very active as long as the water stays cooler. Make sure to be prepared for great action! The water levels are dropping and the clarity in Mosquito Lagoon is improved which is great for sight casting. This time of the year between the Fall weather and the cool fronts coming in makes the wind pick up which makes it harder to use those artificials. You will find it easier to hook up on live bait! As for myself, I will take the challenge and battle the wind with artificials. I enjoy the art of angling and find it much more fulfilling landing my fish on artificial baits. Mullet, jumbo shrimp, soft plastics, top waters, and twitch baits are best in these cooler months, therefore you will have no trouble hooking up in the Lagoon. So, go out there enjoy the cool breeze and give it all you got. Happy Holidays and Merry Fishmas!

INTRO: DEVON TRESHER

Nestled under the shadow of the tallest lighthouse in Florida, on the southernmost tip of the “World’s Most Famous Beach,” the north side of Ponce Inlet has a long history of producing some of Florida’s best waves and surfers. Though waves were already being ridden there in the mid 1900’s, it’s been in the years since the inlet’s stabilization by the Army Corp of Engineers, between 1968 and 1972, that the surf culture has really blossomed. The long jetty intended to make the inlet safer for boats to navigate

has had the unintended side effect of refracting swells and creating a several hundred-yard stretch of consistent, fun peaks that provide the foundation for the area’s thriving surf scene. There’s no shortage of great surfers and legendary characters who have come and gone from this sacred strip of sand through the years. While many are worthy of acknowledgement, the following is Shea Lopez’s list of the current top underrated surfers who call the Ponce Inlet lineup home.

WILL AKERS Will Akers has been a close friend since I made a move to the area in '99. A million life experiences later, we still grom out whenever an opportunity presents itself for us to score an epic surf or get our kids out there for a few perfect little peaks on the one-foot days. Will has helped me immensely supporting and testing for Lopez Boards throughout my evolution from pro surfer to shaper. NOEL PELLET Noel is one of a deep crew that has surfed and lived in the area since they were kids. Now with a family and living in close proximity to the jetty, Noel tries not to miss a session with the boys and always gets away to Central America for his fill of juice. A fine example of the crew that live and surf from the community here.

The Wagner family is highly respected and connected in this area. Growing up the brothers were known well for their incredible parties. Professionally, Josh has become one of the areaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s top lawyers helping countless people in the community with legal issues. John is a highly successful chiropractor that loves fishing on the weekends in his boat with as many friends and family as he can fit on there, and it's a big boat. With decades of travel experience around the world surfing and fishing, the brothers always shine on the biggest of days where they are at play in the ocean. They have a rat pack of groms between them that are already filling spots in the lineup with the next generation of ponce surfers.

MITCHELL WIELGOSZYNSKI Mitchell Wielgoszynski moved here from up north when he was young and brought a hockey players attitude to the local groms in the area at the time. A crew of groms that included, among others, Eros, Robbie Merrell, Christian Oehmke, Jerry Schaefer and the Gitner brothers, all gained an enforcer that I've never seen back down to anybody. He toughened the whole crew around him right up at an early age. Mitchell holds it down still every day he gets to surf with his boss JC Korn for hire. An expecting father, Mitchell is a strong tree with deep roots growing daily here. In the water you'll see him going fast and hard on every wave he can catch. Kerrupt flips and backside helicopters are his favorite two moves when it's not slabbing in the shore break behind the houses.

TOMMY GROOMS Getting to know Tommy over the years has been a lot of fun. Hearing he came to the aid of a young local surfer girl here the other day when she was getting bullied makes me proud to include him on this list, and in my crew. Tommy knows the inlet as well as any surfer and with a wealth of world travels under his belt, Tommy is very capable and comfortable on the biggest days of the year.

Where are you based out of? New Smyrna Beach Originally from? Ormond Beach born and raised. How did you get your start with music and get where you are today? I've been playing since I was ten. That's a very fluid concept (insert the lol) but I knew what I wanted to do very early on. As far as how I got where I am today... I just stuck with it. I've been in some really good bands and had opportunities to work with some, for lack of better words, just really cool and talented people. Are you strictly a solo act? Not at all. I do play solo for the most part, but I've got some really good friends who are really good at what they do, and I have the absolute pleasure of playing with them at least twice a month.

How long have you been singing and playing instruments? I started at ten, technically. It got serious at around 12 years old when my best friend started getting drum lessons. I remember the conversation like it was yesterday. "Dude, I'm getting drum lessons!" and then me saying, "Dude, I'm getting guitar lessons!" Here we are 17 years later.

If you had to describe your music in less than five words... Indie acoustic What do you think your "greatest opportunity" has been thus far in your music career? I've worked as a bass player in a lot of bands and scenarios. I've played the main stage at Playlist Live and the Florida Music Festival multiple times. The "greatest opportunity" has always been playing around town professionally though. I've met some of the best people I know through this. It's the best "job" I've ever had. The bottom line is that I just love playing music. It makes my soul happy (don't get me wrong, I have my nights when I just don't feel like it but I have to, just like everyone else), but my job is to make everybody have a better night than they're already having; to create a setting for people to make memories. And I will continue to do that as long as I have a singing breath in my body. That's what it's all about, family.

Work for me is having to play my guitar and sing for three or four hours. It's a weird and wonderful kind of bliss.Â

Who's your favorite local band (besides your own of course)? Brothers Within 100%! Most talented dudes I know, and they are family (they live up to their name). Where will you the band be 5 years from now? I have no idea and that's ok. If you could tour with any band of your choosing, who would it be with? Trevor Hall and/or Nako and Medicine for the People. Two of my absolute favorites. Favorite venue to play? That's a tough one. I would probably have to say the Grind in Ormond Beach.

What motto do you live by if any? Live Life. How long have you been surfing for? 51 years! What was it like in 70's and 80's being a surfer in our area? Those were times of major change. Performance levels and equipment all changed radically. High performance surfing was the new norm and was slowly embraced by the masses. Some still fight change to this day, not I! Who were the top guys at ponce inlet back in those days? Where do I start; Mad Dog, JC, Poker, Brill, Luke, Wooster, C Dog, Nester and so many more, too many to list. So many heavy hitters. There still a handful that have serious game. Never discount the old boys. If you can go back 30-40 years what advice would you give yourself? Don’t rush through it take more time to see it. Act more talk less. What is the biggest difference now and when you were growing up in the Central Florida area? Then surfing was looked at as a foolish pastime that will take you no where. Now it is a legit professional sport and surfers are real athletes and the new generation have great futures in the sport and are recognized by the masses. Looks good from where I’m sitting. Favorite surf break on the East Coast and why? Favorite break. HOME no place better than when it’s firing. Can’t top surfing at home with your homies.

What's the best part about living in Flagler Beach? The best small town with the biggest hearted people. When you come you never want to leave. What is the best traveling experience in your life? Best/worst travel experience. My first trip to the ESA championships. 30 hour ride broke down four times. Thanks Stan Dorfman for finally getting me there. Sorry I didn’t ride home with you.
