obituaries SCHILLINGER-IMPAGLIAZZO FAMILY
Gloria Schillinger-Impagliazzo passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home as her children had promised her. Gloria was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to her parents Mr. Alphonse Gendreau and Mrs. Mary Louise Reaume Gendreau. Gloria graduated from the Ottawa University with a Bachelor’s in Communications and was happy to become a news anchor at the local radio station in. Sarnia, Ontario - CHOK. As anchor, Gloria had the privilege of introducing Queen Elizabeth when she was on a tour of Canada (“Gloria, you did a nice job
introducing me,” the queen told her). She married Hubert J. Schillinger and raised their children in Port Sanilac, Michigan. She was co-owner of Schillinger Insurance Agency. Three years after her husband passed away, Gloria married Al Impagliazzo and they settled in Florida in 1991. Gloria was a member of St. Jude’s Cathedral where she was a Eucharistic Minister and delivered Holy Communion to the homebound in the community and finally transferred to Most Holy Name of Jesus for ease of access. Gloria belonged to Michigan Lioness Club, Florida, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of Italy, Women’s Organization of the Moose Lodge and Gulfport Women’s Club. After her husband Al Impagliazzo passed away, Gloria volunteered at the hospital, the college and finally the Senior Center for 11 years. She would tell us many times that her greatest joy in living in Town Shores
was the friendliness and sincere concern of her neighbors. Gloria is survived by her five children: Lou Schillinger (Vickie), Marc Schillinger (Linda) in Venice, Florida, Denise Forsgren, Palm Bay, Florida and Monique Tyl (Craig) in Milford, Michigan; four step children: Denise Griffinths in Delaware, Janice Brimmer in Elkton, Maryland, Lois Greaser in Wilmington, Delaware and Al Impagliazzo Jr in New London, New Jersey; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. All are her treasures. Gloria was predeceased by husband Hubert J. Schillinger and husband Al Impagliazzo; her brother Dr. Bernard Gendreau in March 2004; special friend James Clark in Florida and her granddaughter Brin, age 7, in 1987. Gloria rests in peace next to her husband and father of her children, Hubert J. Schillinger in Port Sanilac, Michigan.
