the gabs Do you think New Year’s resolutions work – and why or why not? Photos by Gabby Reeder
Christina Hinkle, Fort Lauderdale: “No, I don’t think New Year’s resolutions work because they always fall apart no matter how hard you try to keep them.”
Bri Spieldenner, Port Charlotte: “I think New Year’s resolutions are a good way to center your goals and guide yourself. Even if you don’t keep them, you’re thinking about what you want to accomplish in your future.”
Jayden Taylor, Colorado: “I think New Year’s resolutions work the same as any big, life-changing decision. If you make them with intention and feeling, you’ll do your best to maintain progress. So, I guess you can say they work, but not particularly better because of the time of year.”
Marissa Harris, Oregon: “My answer is yes. New Year’s resolutions can come true, like anything, you put your mind into it and you can make it a reality. Like my resolution is to finish my book and have it published by March of 2022 and with the right work ethic it will come true.”
