The magazine “It’s Time to Talk is a God-given and God-inspired idea. It has been birthed as a result of much prayer. The premise behind the magazine is to inspire and encourage woman to simply, talk. Many of us “grow” through similar life challenges and situations but yet we tend to think we are isolated and no woman understands. That is a non-truth. The enemy would have us to think that because his job to isolate us long enough and then annihilate. This magazine will cover many issues from many women from all walks of life. Proverbs 11:14 KJV says Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors, there is safety. So grab a cup of coffee, tea, or whatever your favorite drink is. Put your feet up and see how we are connected on this journey called life.

1, 2, 3 Redlight Have you ever played the game one, two, three red light? For those of you that have not, the object of the game is this. The “it” person stands on one side of the field and the other people playing stands at the opposite end. The “it” person turns his or her back and calls out “Green Light.” The people playing run quickly to the “it” person. During the process, the “it” person can turn around and say, “Red Light.” When this happens, the players must stop and remain in place. If the players happen to move by any chance, he or she must return to their starting position in the back of the field. Consequently, God had given me the green light to move forward on the promises He made. As soon as I took one step of faith, the enemy began throwing his fiery darts of fear. Fear of what “might” happen and fear of what “could” possibly happen. The scenarios his lying self-presented were facts of life but were contrary to the truth of God’s word. The bible says we walk by faith and not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:17. Even in knowing that scripture, I allowed the enemy to rent-free space in my head. His lies were about to overwhelm me, so I quickly had to take measures to evict the enemy. Sitting quietly in my car. the father reminded me of the children of Israel. They had gotten the green light to move forward. But on their journey, they faced the Red Sea situation. Understandably, fear set in their hearts which in turn presented the opportunity for the enemy to come up with his scenarios. What Red Sea situations have you encountered? What lies the enemy say to you? For real for real, I was so scared of moving forward, that the Father had to go one step further with me. He had to make it SIMPLE and PLAIN. You cannot “GO BACK” to your (ex-husband, bondage, misery, pain, abuse, etc.…) You cannot “STAY” where you are (it was a holding space, temporary, you have outgrown it). Tomorrow is a promissory note and yesterday is a canceled check. GO! because it's NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. One two three GREEN LIGHT.................

GO! Transition is not always easy, especially during a time when everything around you or in your life says to stay put and don’t move. God had given me the green light to move forward on promises He made not long ago. As soon as I took one step of faith, the enemy began throwing his fiery darts of fear. Fear of what “might” happen and fear of what “could” possibly happen. The scenarios the enemy presented were facts of life, but it was contrary to the truth of God’s word. The bible says we walk by faith and not by sight. Even in knowing that scripture and numerous others, I allowed the enemy to rent-free space in my head. Efforts began quickly to evict the enemy. Sitting quietly in my car before a small lake filled with water, the father reminded me of the children of Israel. They had gotten the green light to move forward, but they soon faced the Red Sea. Fear set in their hearts. I can only imagine their thoughts of thinking we just left Egypt and we are now on the brink of stagnation. Scripture records a few of the Israelites blaming Moses. They said, “you bought us here to die”. Because I am that special child, the Father had to make it simple one more time for me. You cannot go back to your (exhusband, sold house) it’s no longer there. You cannot “STAY” where you are (holding space, “TEMPORARY”. The children of Israel walked through on dry land, but I am crossing over says the Lord. As is symbolic of the enemy being under my feet. Tomorrow is a promissory note and yesterday is a canceled check. GO! because it's NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

Homeschooling is an ADVENTURE! As most experienced homeschoolers will attest, as parents rise to meet the challenges of teaching their children, parents are constantly learning and growing with each year of homeschooling! Homeschooling is truly a family affair centered around learning and an adventure that will have a lasting impact! If you are just getting started with homeschooling you might want to visit the Department of Education or their website in the state you live in.

As a homeschooling parent, you need to rest assured that homeschooling is legal in all 50 states in America. That’s great news, but it’s important to get familiar with the homeschooling laws in your state because they can differ from state to state. It’s important to review those state homeschooling laws, understand them, and implement them in your homeschool. Another great way to get connected with homeschooling in your state is to find a local homeschool support group and get involved!

Children are constantly learning – learning through play and life in general. It’s a completely natural process that occurs without intense effort. Yet, as a homeschool parent, taking it to the next level and making those natural experiences an intentional learning effort all become a daily part of the homeschooling adventure. In fact, most homeschooling families realize that homeschooling is a life-long learning process! Many new homeschoolers want to know how long they should spend homeschooling. Homeschooling will look different for each homeschooling family! The best practice is to make learning goals and then find creative ways to achieve those goals in your homeschool. The time it takes each day to achieve those goals may be different from day to day and week to week. As long as there is the progress made and learning is taking place the minor constraints are irrelevant! Happy Homeschooling! Homeschooling Mom

HOW DOES THE BODY ADJUST TO EXERCISE?

The human body changes on a constant basis. This includes everything from the food we consume, to our environment, to the movement of the human body. How does our body adapt to exercise? It does so very effectively by getting rid of flawed body tissues while creating brand new tissue to replace the old body tissues. The body is also able to adapt to make the function of body cells (muscle cells in particular) improve so that the human body can develop into a more powerful and productive machine. There are two types of exercises that are required for the above-mentioned functions to occur. They are aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise. Aerobic activity alters the makeup of the muscle fibers which builds up the endurance of the individual. It aids in muscle gain by enhancing the reconstruction and rebuilding of the muscles. It also burns body fat at a very efficient rate. Anaerobic activity, on the other hand, aids in muscle building and muscle strength. The advancement of muscle endurance occurs because resistance is developed against the buildup of lactic acid. Lactic acid is the “soreness” that a person will feel after exercise. As the body gets stronger through anaerobic activity, the body develops a resistance to lactic acid. This action ends muscle fatigue. There are many ways that the human body can benefit from both aerobic and aerobic exercise. Both types of exercises, force the body to adapt under stress (the good kind of stress). This means that the body can adapt is able to adjust to increased workloads and overall strength. Regular exercise that utilizes anaerobic and aerobic activity also assists the body in developing and increased sensitivity to insulin. Both types of exercise allow the fat burning to occur efficiently and aids in recovery by repaying the use of oxygen that has been depleted during exercise. The common misconception most people believe is that they can “get by” on just doing one type of exercise: either, anaerobic or aerobic. In actuality, the human body needs a balance of both. Both types of exercises are required to provide the individual with the type of goal they would like to reach. Combining both aerobic and anaerobic exercise can assist a person in all aspects of life which most importantly includes the physical and psychological factors.

Motherhood When I think of motherhood I see my grandmother, my mother, and myself as a mother. The roles of these wonderful. Women in my life help to shape and mold the mother I have become. Each role has had some great learning experiences that have taught me how to be better, teach and lead. Growing up with my grandmother in my early teens I have learned our family's culture and spiritual beliefs. Homemade medicines to cure a common cold, fresh juices, hot cereal, and hot tea. The love I observed my grandmother giving her husband was unconditional and also a takeaway for the day I would find a husband of my own. In the years spent with my mother, I have watched her survive many life events. The days of survival meals and how flour can go a long way along with beans and rice. It was in those times our family of five was the closest. My mom was a single mom who did everything she could own her own. My mom was an entrepreneur and she had two restaurants and owned two homes. My mother is also an author.

My takeaway is the power of a mother is unlimited. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her children. I am a mother because these women inspired me. Motherhood became easier because of what they taught me. I am a mother of seven and have had ups and downs. There were tears and laughter and many many nights of prayer. I recognized the beauty of motherhood when I became a grandmother. This was the reward of all that I have learned and survived has inspired my daughter to embrace motherhood.
