From the first meeting with The Goodman Group’s Home Connections Program, we felt fortunate to have been introduced to their team. Our marketing team, move manager, real estate broker and all The Goodman Group staff showed us immediately how caring and thoroughly they operate. We simply could not have asked for a better experience. Our moving team helped us select just the right amount of furniture and treasures to bring to our new apartment. The truth is you just can’t do this on your own! Having an experienced move team come in to help make the right decisions on what to take makes all the difference in being happy with your new home. Harry and I were very pleased with the time taken to listen to our needs and help with every downsizing detail. We also received a floor plan of our new apartment. This detail helped us make our important furniture decisions. I can honestly say that we brought everything we needed and don’t have to downsize, again. What a relief! We waited to sell our Villa until after the move to be sure that it could be cleaned and staged properly for the highest sales price. Again, our experience with the Connections home sales team during this process was excellent. The marketing and selling expertise that Melody, our Realtor®, used to help us get a fair price for the villa was perfect. We trusted her every step of the way to obtain a contract and a stress-free closing. With the support of the Connections’, we did not go through some of the delays experienced by others who have tried to sell their house on their own. They are not happy that it is taking them longer to sell their homes and we did not wait long for a fair contract on our Villa. We recommend the Connections team to others who are moving to our community. Harry and Martha

February 11, 2014 Our experience with the Connections Program for Home Sellers® and move to Regal Palms was the most stress-free move of our lives! From the point of deciding to make the move, we met with Bob, Darla and Melody and could not have been more pleased with the communication between our move team. Melody did a great job bringing a lot of buyers to see our house, immediately. Her marketing strategies and expertise were a big part of us selling the house in just four days! We accepted the offer on our house and our move to Regal Palms was effortless…this even included getting a maid service to clean the house after our estate sale to connecting us with a reputable repair person. We are very happy that we chose to move to Regal Palms and it was refreshing to know that our relocation was handled in such a positive and professional manner. We would not hesitate to recommend the Connections Program for Home Sellers® team. Sincerely, Bill and Nancy * Bill with Melody Hunter, My Home Connections Realtor®

Hello, my name is Joanne and my dog is named Abbie. She is “mostly poodle.” I want to tell you a little about my “home to home” relocation to The Palms of Largo. First, I had a lot of stuff. Now, I don’t miss the stuff…I enjoyed it when I had it, but don’t miss it. I find my new home very pleasant. They do everything here to make it life good. When I first moved in, I concentrated on the exercise programs. They really help strengthen you and I feel so much better for attending the FIT classes and the pool and spa! My decision to move came gradually. While I did get used to living alone and things were okay for a time, I found that the last year I became more alone; even with Abbie. I did really love my house and my children told me they didn’t want to inherit it, so I made the decision to look at moving in June. Since I still drive my friends to church and one of my friends already lived at Royal Palms, the decision was easy to look there for my next home. I loved the thought of being closer to my church and meeting new friends. My real concern was how I was going to get ready to move. The Connections Program for Home Sellers® was offered to me as a resource to begin the process of downsizing and prepare to sell my house. Their advice was very helpful and I found that I could get answers to any of my questions. I felt that the Connections Program Team truly had my intentions at heart and I really needed their encouraging words during the move and home sale process. My Realtor®, Melody Hunter, clearly made my home stand apart through her investment in advertising on the web. It was important to me that my house would be seen by a wide audience. I knew this worked well because I received two offers in a very short time. Melody’s advice was very good and I needed this to be sure that I negotiated and accepted the right offer. Our closing went smoothly and she even helped to ensure that the flood insurance was reasonable. Another good aspect of the Connections Program Team was that I was assured that even if my house sold quickly, I would have a place to live at Royal Palms. This was important and I was a little concerned because they had a waitlist for the two-bedroom model that I originally requested. In the end, I have to say that I love my one-bedroom and it is all Abbie and I need! Finally, the move process was wonderful. My movers helped to pack and clean even after the moving day. I wanted to leave the house just right for the new buyers and their help was just what I needed. When I arrived at my new apartment the rooms were arranged so that I could find everything easily. Honestly, the Connections Program for Home Sellers and Connections Program Team made me feel as though I could call them anytime and they would answer. They were available for all my needs related to before, during and after my move to Royal Palms. I am glad that I decided to make Royal Palms my home and I really feel safe living at The Palms of Largo! Joanne * Joanne with Melody, My Home Connections Realtor®

To The Staff at The Peaks: I have enjoyed my stay here at The Peaks, my home away from home, while I healed from my surgery. By far, this facility stands at a five-star level for courtesy, kindness, understanding, helpfulness, willingness, thoughtfulness, and concern for the residents here. Thank you to the 24-hour nursing staff, who have patience and professionalism. Thank you to the administrative staff – from my admission to my discharge they have been kind, courteous, understanding, and helped me get everything that I needed. Thank you to the dietary and dining staff for the really good food, including the Easter mutton stew, and for helping me understand my diabetes and my consumption of carbohydrates and for helping me to change my diet. Thank you to the therapy staff, who are awesome! I am more flexible than when I came in here, and if I had a choice I would definitely stay here for another year or take my therapist home with me. Thank you to the dog therapy team! Thank you, also, to the Life Enrichment staff, for making this place entertaining and alive for everyone, and always being polite and kind. The Pinewood Derby was a great event that brought the youth and the elders together in having fun and put the light back in the elders’ eyes. Thank you to the Maintenance staff for fixing my TV remote upon request, without hesitation, even though they have a huge facility to maintain. Thank you to the housekeepers, for cleaning my room on a daily basis, and for being down-to-earth and easy to communicate with and funny! Thanks to Melody, the Resident Services Liaison, for helping me to write this thank-you letter before I leave here. I hope this place grows and becomes better known in the public’s eyes for their quality of service. One thing, for sure, is that you have me as a former patient who will always recommend The Peaks as my first choice in the state of Arizona if anyone needs to go to a skilled nursing facility. Sincerely, Titus

Dear Monte Vista Family; Our family is so very thankful for all of the kindness and love you provided Norm and Doris while in your care. They experienced together all three levels of care – independent living, assisted living and finally full nursing care and even hospice. We are so glad we decided to use Monte Vista! Everything that Darryn Robinson described and explained was true and accurate. The staff at Monte Vista is fantastic. They are all so friendly and truly care about the residents. I will not name one of them because I love you all, yet there are a few that I will always hold close to my heart – they didn’t’ just do their job well – they lived and loved their job and truly loved and honored my parents. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for somehow keeping mom and dad together all through their final journey together. It meant so much to them and our family. For what it is worth, I would recommend Monte Vista to everyone – a truly grand experience. I will truly miss many staff members – They became my friends. I will also miss many residents that I became acquainted with. What a wealth of love and wisdom. My love and deepest thanks to you all!!! Mike
October 9, 2014 To the Dear Caregivers of Monte Vista Nursing, Our family truly loves each and every one of you and thanks you from the bottom of our hearts for the love and expert care you provided both my parents. I will miss the friendships that were made with both the staff and the great residents! You always honored mom and dad. What better tribute could you give! Enclosed are some gift cards to distribute among those who served mom and dad with so much love and care! Have a coffee on them they would truly approve; With love and thanks to all, Mike

To Whom it May Concern: My name is Marguerite and I live at Alamitos West. I came here in July 2013, and I’ve been very happy to be here. I was living in another facility where I fell and fractured my left femur. My first experience was with your physical therapy department. I was so pleased with the services here that when I went back to where I had spent approximately five years, all I could think about as my week at Alamitos West, so I called my insurance company requesting to come back here. The best thing I’ve ever done! What a change! Everything was excellent. The food was and is still the same over a year later. Your employees are always polite, clean and smile. All of your various departments are very efficient. As for myself, I really enjoy the activity department. I love doing well and I’m really enjoying so many activities. I would spend much more time on that department. Even though I don’t walk, your employees keep me standing up and I appreciate it. Thank you for letting me take your time. Thank you for everything. Sincerely, Marguerite

The Goodman Group December 30, 2014 To Whom It May ConcernI am writing to let you know of the outstanding services and positive experiences my mother, Mary, has had in her first five months at the Katella Senior Living Center in Los Alamitos, California. While it is never an easy thing to help your parent transition, by necessity of situation, from a home they’ve known for decades to an unfamiliar environment due to a loss of physical independence, I would like to commend Michele Krebs and her staff on the excellent job they’ve done since accepting my mother as a resident in late July of this year. Although not completely unforeseen, my mother’s need for an assisted living situation happened unexpectedly and rapidly, and with me living on the East Coast and my sister living nearby our mom but with an extremely busy family life of her own, our need for a comfortable and caring new place she could call home was urgent. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with the friendly staff and reasonable affordability made Katella an easy choice for us. Our mom has acclimated well, and after a tenuous start while settling in, she is starting to gain both more independence and, more importantly, confidence to be more independent. The staff helped as necessary, as well as prodded as needed, urging our mom on to regain her drive and stamina. She very much enjoys the activities provided by the center, stimulating her and instigating new friendships. With hope for the future, Greg

I would like to thank all for the wonderful celebration of life event given for my mother, Nettie. The planning and coordination of all, especially the activity department, would have put a big smile on momma’s face. My family and I totally enjoyed the event, the attention to detail and the all-around love and respect that was shown for her was inspiring. Again, Thank You, for all that was done over the years, for the respect and privacy she was shown, for the care given, and for a great place to call home. She loved sitting on the porch and welcoming all, sharing ideas and thoughts. I feel Nettie is now the Walmart greeter in Heaven. ;-) Sarah
March 1, 2014 Dear Mr. Charpentier, My mother, Theresa, is presently a patient at Westchester Gardens. I’m writing to commend you on your staff. Everyone that I encountered, whether it was a maintenance worker, an aid, a nurse, or a physical therapist, was pleasant, helpful, attentive, and dedicated to their job. Some of the names of her caregivers were: Conrad, Deron, Perry, Charlotte, Tiffany, Lorna and Manny. Their attentiveness has made her stay a comfortable one. Thank you for assisting us to get through a difficult time. Sincerely, Jane

Ms. Joan Cronson Director of Public Relations June 30, 2014 Dear Ms. Cronson, My father was a resident of Cypress Palms, Enhanced Living Facility, in Largo, Florida, for the last five years. Eight years ago, after a debilitating stroke, which left my father unable to speak or move the right side of his body, my mother became the primary care giver. Three short years later, she passed away and he became my responsibility. While looking for an assisted living facility, I had the good fortune of finding Cypress Palms. My father’s time there was extraordinary and would like to take a moment to acknowledge the people who created a loving, caring, and supportive environment for him. Marnie Mathney, who was the Resident Service Director, always hugged, kissed, and greeted my father daily. Dianna Slutzker, Director of Nursing, understood that Cypress Palms had become his home and worked diligently to return him to the facility when he was sick and was released by the local hospital to a rehab facility. The support staff, Gina and Johnny, were fabulously engaging. I know my father will miss Gina’s smiles and Johnny’s triple chocolate shakes on Sunday afternoons. The nurses and CNA’s on the 3rd floor were amazing. Connie and Robin before her and rest of the kitchen staff shined as well. I would like to especially acknowledge one person in particular, Liz. Almost from the beginning of his stay there, Liz was able to communicate with my father and seemed to understand him like my mother had. She was truly an angel sent from heaven. No words can convey the level of care she gave to my father when he was at Cypress Palms nor can mere words alone adequately express my thanks. I can’t name all of the wonderful people there, but everyone from the receptionists at the main desk that engaged him in conversation when he sat in the lobby, to the staff that cleaned the rooms with smiles on their faces, were all part and parcel to the overall feeling that was fostered at this place that my father considered home. My father passed away on June 16th, 2014. The caring people at Cypress Palms will always be in my heart. Sincerely, Evan J.

February 8, 2014 To the Staff at Sabal Palms Rehab Center, I was most recently under your care in October, 2013, and again in December, 2013, for a total of 30 days. I have been in rehab there a total of four times. Each time I was there, your facility provided exceptional care and rehabilitation. Everyone that worked with me were very professional and caring; from the nurse, aides, doctors, admin staff and especially the therapy department staff. I also enjoyed the meals very much and the food service staff was very accommodating. “Everyone I dealt with had terrific attitudes and made me feel comfortable with the care I received. I have regained my strength and I feel great. I am walking again with my new prosthetic leg and I made great progress while there. On behalf of my wife and me, please pass on our gratitude to everyone and we wish you all the best. Keep up the wonderful work that you do. With many thanks, Sincerely, Mario and Pam

October 30, 2014 I have made a daily visit to The Plaza because it and the people who staff it have become a standard in my life. The welcome I always treasure is a delight in my life that I never enjoyed before I became a resident here. John
The Plaza I spend a lot of time at The Plaza. It has become my home away from home. I have met many people at The Plaza and had the opportunity to make new friends. Recently I attended “The Pumpkin Patch” with the children and had the joy of making my very own pumpkin. The Plaza is a gathering place for people from all walks of life. At the holidays it is always decorated with amazing decorations – it brings out my inner child. Many people I meet have no family and The Plaza always makes them feel loved and cared for. One day I was at a card making class at The Plaza and a woman walking in and we started talking – come to find out she is part of staff and we became friends. I love the many opportunities I get at The Plaza. Virginia
I love The Plaza! The veteran’s events are superior. I recently had a celebration of life for my husband there and it was outstanding! I am proud to show off my home to my friends. The staff works very hard to come up with events and they make the entire community of Largo feel welcome. Janet

Re: Groundbreaking Day Thank you both so very much for yesterday! I was truly humbled by your invitation to participate in such an inspirational event. Mr. Goodman, your humility and caring concern for those in need of assisted living touches each person you meet. Thank you for your kind words on my behalf. I have truly enjoyed serving as president of the council for the past several years, and I look forward to continue serving Terracina in various capacities in the coming years. I believe everyone with whom you visited during the breakfast hour made a point of telling me how wonderful it was for you to take the time to speak with them. Your love for the residents at Terracina shines throughout your countenance. Peter, thank you for your love and concern for John and me. Thank you for taking time to visit with John and giving him the hard hat. It is hard to determine just how much his cognizant, but I have to hope he is aware of his surroundings now and then. Our seven years at Terracina have been most enjoyable. We could not have a better environment in which to live, and I look forward to “overseeing the new addition! Again, thank you so much to both of you. May you have an exciting new year! Betty

December 28, 2013 Dear staff members at The Residence at Timber Pines, If I could see, I would be filled with awe at the beauty that surrounds me in this place that is my new home. From the charming mural with the cat that is nestled on the chair just around the corner from my room, to the lighting on the ceiling that would make me feel as though I can look up into the blue sky and feel the warm breeze across my face. I would marvel at the beautiful chandeliers, the lovely pool, and the cozy seating around the fireplace. I would look at the delicious cuisine that is place before me and see that it was planned and prepared by the people who care and plated by hands who know the special needs of their diners. If I could break through these invisible bonds of dementia, I would move to the rhythm of the music that I hear and laugh with the memories that the songs bring to mind. I would show you how much I enjoy the activities that are planned for me and I would participate as eagerly as a five-year-old. I would be aware of the daily chores that are done for me by the staff that so often go unrecognized by family members who come to visit. My clothes and linens are always changed and made clean for me, my room is kept the way I would have liked it in years past – dusted and mopped, and vacuumed. My body, that I can no longer care for myself, is gently washed and dried, lotioned and powdered, all in a way that preserves my dignity and maintains my privacy that I used to guard so ferociously. You have fixed my hair and clipped and polished my nails. These are all reminders to me that I am not a forgotten old lady that no longer needs to be pampered. If I could speak, I would share my thoughts with you. I would express my gratitude to the doctors and nurses that make sure I am comfortable and healthy even when my actions may convey otherwise. I would tell you how happy I feel when I hear the staff camaraderie as they freely joke with each other, because I believe a happy staff instills happiness in everyone who hears the laughter even when they cannot participate in the joy they hear. Although you wouldn’t know it now, I was always a happy person who loved silliness and a good funny story and so I can still appreciate hearing those smiles even if I can no longer see them. I would let you know how much I appreciate hearing those smiles even if I can no longer see them. I would let you know how much I appreciate the administrative responsibilities that are required to maintain a facility such as this to keep it running at its optimum. I would say thank you to all of you who work so tirelessly and lovingly to give me a home in which I can feel safe and loved. If I could put a pen to paper, I would write all of these things down and sign it myself with love and gratitude to you all, wishing each and every one of you a very heartfelt Merry Christmas. Sincerely, Mary

When my mom’s dementia got to the point that she could no longer live alone – my sister and I were faced with the daunting challenge of choosing an assisted living facility for her. The weight of choosing the right place and the right people to care for her may be one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made. Six months later – I am writing to say with incredible gratitude and relief – thank you. Thank you for offering such a beautiful facility filled with so many caring people. Thank you for caring not only for my mom – but also for us as we struggle to handle her new normal. The Commons has been so good for her – both her body and her spirit! We knew she wasn’t eating as well as she should but she probably put on 10 lbs of healthy weight after arriving and she still raves about the meals offered. She loves all the social activities and all her new friends as well. You’ve truly become our partners in caring for her, which is an incredible gift. Whether it was regulating her meds, doing an x-ray right in her room after she fell or helping us access outside providers who would deliver services right there in the building – you have been a Godsend. I can’t thank you enough for helping us make sure that this last chapter of our mom’s life is as rich and meaningful as it can be and that every day we know she is safe and being cared for by skilled, knowledgeable and loving people. Anyone that might be wondering if The Commons on Marice is right for a parent or loved one can be confident that they couldn’t make a better choice. Again – thank you for everything. Drew September 30, 2014 A most sincere thank you for the wonderful one hundred and one birthday hosted by The Commons, planned and conducted by you and your staff. During a long life and fortunate circumstances, it has been my good fortune to have been invited to a number of celebrating parties. In my judgment, and that of my family and friends, the event on Sept. 1 surpassed any others in our experience. From the elegance of the Atrium setting to the conclusion of the activities, I was amazed how smoothly the details fit into the general scheme you and your helpers had planned Thank you again. I realize The Commons handles many such events on a daily basis, and because you handle them so well the residents at The Commons are so happy. Sincerely, LeRoy

Hi Holly, We had a great event yesterday with Margaret. It was so nice that many of the Old Main Village residents attended, along with many friends and family from Waldorf, Wilmar and Woodbury. The Club Room is a perfect place to host the event. Margaret was so happy to show off her unit to the visiting friends. Many, many compliments from the visitors of what a great place OMV is!! Again, a Big Thank You to you and the Old Main Village staff for making her house warming a success! Have a Fantastic Holiday Season! Steven & Danny
Hi Holly! Just wanted to say I was SO impressed when I stayed at Old Main to visit mom. She ordered a lunch for me delivered to her apartment. It was wonderful! The apartment and complex was nice and quiet. Clean and beautiful. Truly is the right place for mom. She thanks us over and over for finding a nice place for her to move. I wanted to say hello and thank you! Sheila

July 20, 2013 Dear Team at St. Anthony Health Center, My experience at St. Anthony Health Center was nothing but good. They did everything they could to help me recover from my stroke. The nurses, therapists, doctors, were all so polite and took great care of me. I would highly recommend this facility to anybody needing care. St. Anthony was very accommodating to my family and worked hard to keep them informed of my recovery and progress. My therapists, Andrea and Heather, were kind enough to come to my home to make sure it was safe and accessible. St. Anthony staff not only took care of me while under their roof, but their community nurse Jill called me after I went home and even made a special home visit to make sure I was doing OK. After talking with Jill, I decided to do outpatient therapy at St. Anthony because I was feeling a little weaker and had a fall since being home. I was so glad she brought it to my attention and I decided to go back and work with Aegis Therapy two times a week. I greatly appreciated all their help, kindness and compassion! Leo
August 4, 2014 Dear Team at St. Anthony Health Center, I was admitted to Unity hospital July 2nd after suffering a fall. The staff at Unity was always vigilant in their duties and they were always close by when I needed assistance. I needed more therapy after being in the hospital and I chose to go to St. Anthony Health Center. The St. Anthony staff and the Aegis therapists were all well trained and such a splendid, organized group of dedicated individuals. Everyone was professional from laundry, to housekeeping, to physical and occupational therapy and knew what they were doing. I was in good hands. St. Anthony has always been a warm and welcoming place of hope for me. I have been here four times, from four falls. Each time they make sure I have everything I need for my successful rehabilitations. I am looking forward to staying on campus and starting the next phase of my life at Chandler Place Assisted Living. Kate

October 24, 2014 Dear All: Just a note to express my appreciation for all you did for my Mom, Charlotte, during the 3 ½ years that she lived at Chandler Place. I was repeatedly impressed by how thoughtful and kind and patient everyone was. I have no doubt that your care had much to do with her longevity. I also know how important you were to her quality of life. As you all know, Char tried to remain as active as possible for as long as possible. The programming that Chandler Place provided was quite amazing – both the trips out about to museums, theater, restaurants, the State Fair, river trips, etc., etc., and the in-house activities – choir, social hours, Friday happy hour, special dinners and teas, the annual neighborhood party, birthday parties, and of course, Bingo – well, the list goes on and on. I cannot imagine a better environment for my Mom who loved to be on the go. The nursing staff and caregivers were incredible. Char was high maintenance and had quite a team to keep coordinated. I appreciate how gracious everyone was to me, including Kathleen, Stephanie and all the caregivers. Without everyone’s help and contribution, Char could not possibly have continued in assisted living and she desperately wanted to stay with her Chandler Place friends in an apartment that could accommodate her cat, Zoey. Thank you everyone for making that possible. The dining room staff also made my mom feel welcomed and valued. She looked forward to her lunches and dinners to socialize with other residents but also to chat with the staff and to learn more about their lives and families. And, I was always amazed that the administrative staff remembered me by name even though we did not have all that many occasions to interact personally. I feel that words cannot express how grateful Char and I were that she was able to reside at Chandler Place surrounded by very good people who cared about and for her. Thank you for everything. My Best, Jo-Ida

A Letter to the Staff at Billings Health & Rehabilitation Community On Saturday, June 29, I will be discharged to home after completing my therapy stay. As I get ready to go, I have tears of happiness and sadness. I have been a resident at Summit (Transitional Care Unit) for almost four months. Over that time, BHRC has become my second home. I would recommend BHRC to anyone in need of this type of service, from nursing to therapy. The staff are all professionals in their own positions, yet they put things on a personal level, making everyone feel like family. I can’t say enough good about the Innovative Therapy staff, Lynn, Jeff, Carrie Lynn, Nichole, Duane, Lisa, Vicky, Erin, the rest of the crew that come over from Valley and the restorative crew. They do a wonderful job and make miracles happen. The Life Enrichment department is AWESOME! Frank, Jill and Holly do a great job of keeping everyone busy and offer activities of some sort to everyone, no matter what their need or disability. There is no need to ever say “I’m bored” or “there is nothing to do.” The nurses and CNAs are great; they know how to do their jobs in a professional manner, and yet they become your friends, too. The laundry was always done. Housekeeping did a great job, and the Kitchen help was accommodating. Maintenance and supplies were available when needed. Scooter and C.J. do a wonderful job of making sure you have everything concerning the financial part of your stay and that you have all the help and things you need when you get ready to go home. I can’t forget Art. How else would we get to our appointments on time? He is not “Just The Driver” (JTD); he always takes time to say hi and give his girls a hug when he sees them. I feel like I found a new “family” with all the people I’ve met and the special ones we lost during my stay. So as I leave my “home” for home, I say “see you later” not “goodbye,” because I’ll be back every now and then to see you all. Love, Debbie S.

Valley Health Care Staff, There aren’t enough words to express my appreciation and thankfulness to all of you for the care and love given to mom, “Nettie,” the past almost six years. Mom was a very special lady to a lot of people in many ways. My family loved her so much. We will miss her but we know Our Lord will take care of her now. It is comforting to know she is with her mother and brother again and that she is at peace. I’ll come by to say hi. You all will stay close to my heart! Thanks for everything. Jan

April 2, 2014 Dear Mr. Goodman, It is my pleasure to write to you to express my appreciation for the outstanding staff, administration and facility that is Westpark Village in Billings, Montana. My mother lived at Westpark Village for 17 years prior to her recent passing. She lived for eleven years in the retirement section of Westpark and the last six years in the assisted living unit. My aunt live at Westpark prior to my mother. My family has a tradition of spending their retirement and care years at retirement facilities. I have visited a number of retirement/assisted living facilities not only locally but in other states. In the 17 years that my mother was a resident and a member of the family at Westpark, I never had to worry about her or her care. Tina Vauthier, your executive director, is not only an excellent manager but is a true leader. Being a leader is what sets individuals in management positions apart and Tina is one of those unique individuals. My wife and I have owned our own businesses and been in management positions, so we can truly appreciate the skills and abilities of Tina. Her leadership and her ability to partner with staff allow them to reach their true potential and provide outstanding customer service is what sets Westpark Village apart as one of the top, if not the top retirement facility in the nation. I live in Billings and visited my mother two to four times per week. I was always received with caring and kindness, treated with utmost respect and saw the great professionalism and love with which the staff served the family of residents. I could start listing names but would probably forget some important staff members and that would be a disservice to those wonderful people. Simply, the staff is truly outstanding. As Kathy and I say, “Their halos are polished and waiting on a shelf in heaven. You can be truly proud of the people and facility that is Westpark Village. Sincerely, Tom and Kathy

My husband and I came to live at Valley View Estates in April of 2012. I couldn’t take care of him at home anymore. He needed a lot of care. The staff at Valley View took very good care of him. They understood his needs and helped him. My husband “Doc” played the accordion and he brought it with him when we moved in. He played it and the other residents would love to listen to him play. He was able to play the accordion until just before he passed away. When Doc was dying, the nurses made him as comfortable as they could. The Valley View Chaplain stayed with me and Doc the whole time. I appreciate all of them so much. Phyllis
December 4, 2014 My family would just like to say thank you. We came to the facility to have Thanksgiving dinner with our dad, John. We thought our meal would take place in the main dining room, but we were lead to a private dining room with the table all set for five! Our meal was served to us as if we were in a restaurant! The staff took very good care of us. It was a wonderful meal and great atmosphere! Thank you all so much ;)

I am sending my warmest wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year this holiday season! I hope my letter finds you happy, healthy and enjoying your lives fully. Change seems to be the theme for our world and certainly for my own life this entire year. Changes were the constant in my life for 2013! January started off with an unexpected delay of my scheduled left knee surgery, moving it from January to April. In May, I came down with Shingles. I’m sure all the stress of medical issues and decisions about my life and my care left me more vulnerable to Shingles than normal years. Through all my medical challenges, I have had the tremendous support of my good friends. They have watched over my home, my cat and me. I simply could not have survived nearly as well without their ever present care, friendship and love. They have been a major source of comfort and blessings in my ever changing life. As you may recall, I lived at Riverside for most of my convalescing but I also had a period of time recuperating at home. To my amazement, I found that I was much happier and much better off at Riverside. I have regained much of the weight I had lost last year. I no longer worry about fixing meals, cleaning the house, taking care of the cat, shopping for groceries, trying to get transportation for doctor appointments of for the daily physical therapy sessions or scheduling lawn sessions or scheduling lawn services and so on. Praise all for this place! The staff is friendly, caring and makes me feel comfortable. I have transportation when I need it. In fact this year I have taken Riverside’s tours around Missoula. This is something I haven’t done in years! Life is good for me at Riverside! So much so, that I decided to put my house up for sale. I was amazed, my home sold before the ad ever went into the newspaper! Friends helped to arrange for my furnishing to be dispersed, some went to family and such. In no time at all I was free of the cleaning, care, lawn and sidewalk worries! It was a good choice for me. I spend my days getting three great meals, doing therapy each day and all within the convenience of my new home. Warmest Regards, Iva

November 11, 2013 Dear Ms. Hammond, My Mom, Darlene, was a resident at The Village Health Care Center from December 2012, until her passing last week. She was originally in one of your regular rooms, but eventually moved to Pearl Garden due to her Parkinson’s Disease-related dementia. I visited mom at your facility in January and was so impressed with every aspect of The Village. Every member of your staff was kind, patient and loving. I overheard some of your staff discussing a difficult patient, and their words were nothing but kind, sincere and collaborative. The facility is bright, clean, safe and decorated in a homey, comfortable fashion, The food was healthy and a wonderful variety. Nothing about The Village seemed “institutional” or depressing. As I live in Denver and have a young son, I wasn’t able to travel back to Montana since January. However, I tried to stay in touch by phone and called my mom about every 10 days. Every time I called, your staff was eager to get my mom for me to speak with. It was often a laborious process to transfer my call, put me on hold, and bring her out near the phone to speak with me. They did it every time I called, unless she was eating or sleeping. I frequently mailed my mom letters and photos, and was told by my sister that many of your staff would open the letters for our mom and take time to look at the photos together. My sister, Lorrie and her husband, Frank, live in Missoula and visited our mom weekly. They consistently raved about your staff and their kindness toward our mom; holding her hand, speaking sweetly to her and showing her amazing compassion. In my mom’s last hours, your staff comforted my family as they visited, even bringing them breakfast one morning. They encouraged my sister to leave when they could see our mom was fighting passing away. Almost immediately upon my sister and her family leaving, our mom passed away comfortably and quietly. I can’t tell you what a relief it has been the past 11 months to know my mom was cared for in a wonderful environment, where she truly was treated like family. Your facility and staff gave my family such comfort and security in knowing that our mom was in the best place she possibly could have been. My family and I thank you and your staff for their hard work and compassion, dedicated to treating your patients like loved ones. It is appreciated more than you can possibly imagine. Please pass this letter one to your staff at The Village so my family can share our thanks to each one of them. Sincerely, Andrea

Dear Ms. Mix, I write to commend the excellent assistance provided by Peter. My wife, Joy, and I first met Peter when we were preparing the new apartment for my mother, Hazel. Peter made himself available to us for any assistance we needed. This included contacting an electrician to replace the ceiling light in the bedroom with a fan/light. He also gave us his key to hold open the elevator doors when we moved in the furniture and boxes of Mom’s treasured mementoes. Peter was very responsive to our needs during the ensuing days as we prepared the apartment for the forthcoming move. I had only to mention to him I needed a cabinet hinge repaired or another item taken care of and he responded immediately and cheerfully. He continued to provide assistance after Mom became a resident at The Village Senior Residence as we struggled to active television and telephone service. I feel confident Peter will continue to watch over Mom and ensure her needs are met in my absence. Sincerely, LeRoy
Re: Good Life Learning Classes I noticed these classes in the paper and have been attending whenever I can. They are truly helpful for me in my life. They give me something to look forward to as well as getting out of the house to learn something new and meet some new people. The phone class was great, electronics and computers are really hard for me. Health classes are good to inspire us to pay attention to our diet and exercise. The camera classes and bird lecture were both wonderful. The “Lose the Clutter” class and the estate planning class were excellent as well. I hope more cooking classes will be offered because it’s nice to taste something different and watching the cooking process is relaxing and enjoyable. Some people attending these are single; we are a couple but have zero relatives anywhere near for any holiday meals so it is a treat to share a meal and meet others our age. I don’t mind paying for the classes to offset expenses. I hope you will continue to offer more easy cooking classes with few ingredients. Don’s Italian dish was perfect in every way. It was true comfort food! Thank you for the wide variety of classes offered and we really appreciate the sandwiches and all of Cyndi’s efforts to make each of them a good class. Gayle

November 15, 2013 Dear Ms. Easley, My husband has been hospitalized six times in the 38 years that we have been married and has been in a rehabilitation facility three times prior to his two recent stays at West Hills Health and Rehabilitation. We have been fortunate to have had wonderful experiences in five of the six hospital stays and three of the three care facility experiences have been wonderful as well. In fact, each of our other care facility experiences have been so wonderful that we never expected or imagined any other care facility experience needed to be or would exceed our former experiences or expectations. The staff at West Hills exceeded any and all expectations (including expectations we weren’t aware of until they were performed). We would never dream of choosing another care facility if the need should ever present itself again. (If the need should arise we can only pray there will be room for us.) Each and every employee, Registered Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist who worked with and provided care for my husband were stellar. You and your Human Resources Department are deftly skilled in selecting the cream of the crop. Pres’ primary nursing team, Janice, RN, and Lamin, CNA, created a comforting and cheerful atmosphere that can’t be bested. Each and every other nurse and certified nursing assistant that was assigned to Pres always provided the utmost warm and wonderful care as well. Pres’ Rehabilitation Team, led by Trent, Director of Rehabilitation, can’t be topped. Every day, they generously provided inspiration, humor, and heart all while ensuring Pres’ road to recovery progressed in positive and safe manner. Professionalism, inspiration, humor, and heart belong to each and every employee we met and have come to know. Deb, Admissions Coordinator, who took us under her wing from day one offering bushels of support and help, continues to keep in touch with offers of help and to see how we’re both doing. Debi, Social Service-Skilled Care, always made sure our needs were met and made time to check in with Pres frequently. Ashley, Life Enrichment, (Morale Booster and Entertainer Extraordinaire!) always kept us smiling and entertained. You simply can’t be anything but happy when Ashley is around! Ken and Meagan, Receptionists, were always welcoming and glad to see us and made me feel at home. Amber RN, who was often Pres’ evening nurse, was always cheerful and helpful. Bee, is always happy and helpful and Jennifer, who works so hard and seemingly tirelessly, is always friendly and cheerful. Betty worked individually with Pres to meet his dietary requests. Melissa, Business Office Manager and Yolanda were both extremely caring and helpful to me during a particularly difficult time. There are many other employees whose names we don’t know, but as I said before, each and every person who has been in contact with either or both of us have all been sensational and we want to thank them all with all of our hearts. As I hope I’ve conveyed, our highest praise and heart-felt thanks belong to the entire West Hills staff. We thank you for the community you’ve created and welcomed us into and for inspiring my husband to so willingly dive into his therapy and recovery plan. We owe that inspiration to your hard work, your technical ability, and your caring words of encouragement and daily dedication. Thank you for everything! Warmest regards, Gail

It is my pleasure to share my experience at West Hills Village in Portland, Oregon. I have lived at West Hills Village for 10 years. My children chose this facility while I was in the hospital waiting to be discharged. I have them to thank for the 10 good years I have lived here. Though I have lived a busy life it is now great to have someone else take care of my daily needs and emergencies that arise. I have developed a friendship with staff members who have come to mean so much to me. During some difficult times, i.e. a flood from leaking ceiling pipe that cause come major inconvenience, they were so supportive and made the experience bearable. We have been so fortunate to have a talented young man as head chef so food has been delicious and plentiful. Our activity directors have challenged us with a variety of activities that we may choose and benefit from. Our executive director have been talented, approachable individuals. Corporate people when visiting always take time to with residents and that feature is appreciated. Most of us as residents at this facility though we would live in our homes for the rest of our lives. Because unforeseen circumstances, we find ourselves in an adopted home and I for one am so grateful my remaining years will be spent at West Hills Village in Portland, Oregon. Mary
November 6, 2014 We were very impressed when we first visited West Hills Village! Everyone was very welcoming and we were struck with all the personal attention we received. The staff came to know us quickly and call us by our first names, which made us feel good! These are some of the reasons we chose to have my lovely wife stay at West Hills Village after a brief stay next door at West Hills Health Care & Rehabilitation. Helen has been here approximately two months now, and has made friends easily with other residents. We have found the community to be excellent, staff is caring, helpful, happy and we are really happy with the services. We would recommend this community to anyone who needs assisted living services. May 13, 2014 Dear Donna, I want to take this opportunity to tell you how very satisfied I have been with the care Bonnie is receiving at The Inn on Westport. I realize that your staff has been aggressively thoughtful in their care for all of your residents. When I go to see Bonnie she looks so good. She is well-dressed and Lynette has even thought of a new hair style for Bonnie that is easy to take care of, and at the same time is very attractive. There are many little things going on that are good for Bonnie. I asked her the other day if she was happy and she said she was. I spend a lot of time at The Inn, especially in the evening. In fact, I hope I’m not making a nuisance myself. What I am seeing while I’m there are well-organized teams which combine their professionalism with compassion. One night Nita substituted for someone who had called in sick. When Nita came in to give Bonnie her final prescription eye drop before going to sleep, Nita said, “Can I give you a hug, Bonnie?” And when Nita did, Bonnie said, “Thank you. I love you.” That’s pretty heartwarming. Thank you Donna, for your part in establishing a good, healthy atmosphere at The Inn. Paul
April 22, 2013 Hello, Enclosed please find a donation to The Inn on Westport Memorial Fund, in memory of John. John’s wife, Carolyn, was our mother’s cousin. After Carolyn died in 2005, we would come to visit John at The Inn on Westport. John always seemed so pleased to be there. We remember the year when he sent us a picture of the corn he was growing on the balcony! Every time we came to visit we were met by such wonderful, caring people in such a beautiful place. We often commented, that based on our experiences visiting there, we wished that we could age in Sioux Falls, at The Inn. It just struck us as a special last home for John where he could be surrounded by such exceptional people and kind caregivers, and we all thank you! Sincerely, Lorrie and Russ

I recently retired, moving 1,000 miles away from everything familiar. If that wasn’t challenging enough, my 87 year-old mother said, “I’m coming with you!” Now I was taxed with numerous crucial questions. What about her medical issues? Still being somewhat independent, and often quite picky, where would she be happy yet safe? My requirements were that her new home be in a safe location; have a high staff-to-resident ration; and that somehow would be available and involved enough to answer my daily inquiries. (Did she get to her meals? Is she socializing? Etc.). Mom’s requirements were – “Is the new place pretty? Are we close to shopping? I want to do as much as I can by myself!” Of the many choices, our decision was evident. SUMMER HILL. Summer Hill met our requirements for a long time. When we had an occasional problem, resolving it became a team issue involving ALL of us. Can it get better than that? Yes. It Can. Little did we know that the staff at Summer Hill would become, in the future, a collection of “Angels on Earth” that made my mom’s passing an event of such dignity. Despite a history of strokes, the staff at Summer Hill were ever vigilant to note “differences” in Mom’s behavior. So, when one day “things didn’t seem right” – they sent her to the nearest hospital. When the local hospital failed her and services were not readily available to us, Summer Hill stepped up and served as Hospice for my Mom until the day she passed. The Director, Leslie Burns, helped me navigate the intricacies of the medical system. She knew what to do and how to get it done! There are many fantastic caregivers at Summer Hill. There were at least three women that went above the call of duty simply because they really, really cared for my mom. Margie, Laura, Ashley, and of course, Leslie, are exceptional human beings. We remain forever grateful. With respect, Terry and Steve
