FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR It feels like just yesterday that the Broadway hit Rock of Ages was wrapping up the 2018/19 Season with our record 27th sellout, but another Wisconsin summer is racing by and the 2019/20 Season fast approaching. It’s certainly been a great summer here at The Grand: a record number of you have signed up to be subscribers and the response to the upcoming season has been incredible! We are so excited for the season to come and can’t wait to get it started with a capacity crowd for the 20th Anniversary Tour of RENT on October 8th. Before we turn all of our attention to the new season, I want to offer a word of thanks for your incredible support over the past year. Whether it was as ticket buyers, renters, sponsors or donors, you helped us to one of our best years in history! The support that we receive each year is truly amazing, and we are proud to be a part of a community that is so incredibly supportive of the performing arts. As the new season approaches, we hope you’ll stay connected as we announce additional shows, performances from our talented Central Wisconsin Jerry Ensemble, special pre-show events, and the Bridge Clinic Community Engagement Series, allowing you to connect to the arts in new and different ways throughout the year. Just one of our area’s representatives, the cast of Northland Pines High School’s Disney’s Newsies, performs in Madison at Overture Center’s Jerry Awards Show after being awarded Outstanding Musical as well as a number of other honors for individual performers.
Between performances at The Grand, the dance captain from the cast of Broadway’s Kinky Boots traveled to the UW-Stevens Point campus to teach the show’s choreography to more than 65 dance and musical theatre majors.
