A SHORT HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The school, then named Garrison Secondary School, officially received its first student intake on 06 January 1975. It was officially opened on 11 September 1975 by The Hon. Lloyd E. Sandiford, MP, the then Minister of Education and parliamentary representative for the community in which the school is situated.
The Garrison Secondary school was renamed on 5th October, 2021 after its first principal, Mr. Graydon C. Sealy, who served in that capacity for fourteen (14) years. The official renaming was done by the Honourable Freundel Stuart, QC, MP, Prime Minister of Barbados and the Honourable Ronald Jones, JP, MP, Minister of Education, Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.
Graydon Sealy Secondary School has had four principals. They are listed in order of their tenure…Graydon Sealy, Pauline D. Byer, Matthew Farley and Beverley Y. Bancroft. Our current principal is Peter Cox.
The School is situated on Paddock Road, St. Michael, within the environs of the Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison.
Other landmarks such as the Barbados Museum; St. Ann’s Fort; The Hilton Barbados Resort; Cherry Tree Cottage, the home of the Barbados

Cadet Corps; The Military Cemetery; The Clock Tower at the Garrison; and George Washington House are also in close proximity to the school.
