“It was time for a refresh,” says Marketing Services/ Partner, Amy Hoback. “We’d had the same website design for about five years and it was time to give it a fresh new look and enhance the user experience at the same time.” So they sat down with Denver-based Booj — the Groups team of marketing and web development experts — to start anew and usher The Group’s website into the next generation. The pioneering company works closely with independent brokerages, only offering their services to one business per market. The Group’s new website will shine via re-branding, responsive design, sprucedup content, and a smooth informational ecosystem.

A Journey Into Mobile: Building a Responsive Website Gone are the days of clunky mobile sites that do the job halfway. Springing from Booj’s 2013 conference theme, the website will provide a consistent experience across devices. The Journey Into Mobile theme “was about how mobile would become the predominant [website] traffic type,” says Ido Zucker, Managing Partner at Booj. “We wanted to transition to a mobile-first approach, not doing mobile as an afterthought.” But what does a responsive website mean for users? Like most sites, The Group’s prior web presence required users to choose between working within the confines of a mobile-specific site and accessing a miniature, but less user-friendly, version of the full site. As Hoback explains, “On a mobile version, for example, usually the functionality is limited and not all the information is

Sometimes on the mobile you can click through to the main sight, but it may be harder to use.” The new responsive design allows the site to adapt to device type and screen size automatically. “You can drag a corner of the window and the whole site will conform to that size,” said Hoback. So regardless of the browsing gadget of choice, homebuyers, sellers, and realtors will be able to access information with ease.

Enhanced Searches: Get Better Information Faster The Group’s new website provides users access to more data than ever and helps clients navigate and interpret the information. The addition of the MetroList database means users will have access to MLS information in more communities that before. And Booj has created optimal tools for sifting through that data as quickly and effectively as possible. New filters allow users to set specific criteria, and the interactive search map is second only to that on The Group’s app. Additionally, homebuyers can create a My Home Search profile that allows them to log searches, save specifications and set alerts. But the new search parameters aren’t just better. They’re faster. “The system processes the data from the MLS board in real time, which gives [The Group] an advantage, says Zucker. Users of The Group’s site will get alerts and results first and Booj’s audits will let them know, comparing the new site’s search times to those of competitors. Another new tool assess and compares automated valuation model (AVM) findings to highlight the

AVMs are relatively flawed,” Zucker says. “What we’ve done is when you want a valuation, we show you how Zillow compares to Eppraisal, we’ll show the difference, what the range is. What we’re trying to do is educate the public that these AVMs aren’t gospel, and you should reach out to an expert.” For those who aren’t quite ready for expert advice, however, the site also offers a market snapshot, letting users see the homes in question before reaching out to a Realtor®.

Re-Branding But it’s not all about functionality. In keeping with the company’s constant growth and evolution, the new website sells an updated image of The Group with a fresh sparkle and exciting new content. Property and agent websites have been updated with sleek images that facilitate integration across platforms. For example, Zucker says, “The Group re-took agent images in a way that let them improve branding.” The new images — against a white background — will easily slip into a variety of formats, from emails to e-card templates. In standard Group form, the site will also showcase the things that make Northern Colorado such a winning place to live. The new community section, “Places to Go,” will feature favorite spots to drink, dine or recreate with blurbs and click-through links for more information.

Colorado State University’s Office of Admissions | COMMUNITY FOCUS

The team at Colorado State University’s Office of Admissions reaches out to students in high schools, at college fairs, and through social media and college companies such as Cappex and Naviance. To help students decide whether CSU is the right college for them, the Office of Admissions holds two information sessions per day — Monday through Friday and 25 to 30 Saturdays — yearround. These sessions include a campus tour and recommendations for experiencing Fort Collins. The office also hosts more in-depth full-day visits during which students can meet with representatives all across campus departments. Upwards of 1,300 people attend these larger programs and over 30,000 visitors from across the nation visit campus each year to learn about

Fort Collins with hopeful students and their families. The Wooden Nickels program drives students and their families to Old Town. Campus visitors are given a token that they can redeem at Ram Zone for a Colorado State University ram sticker. The office hopes that, once in the area, people will support the town’s plethora of local businesses. During the information sessions and campus tours, guides encourage their guests to check out the town. The Visit CSU mobile app provides the details to help guests navigate the city and choose their favorite activities. The app includes details about dining, bicycling, outdoor recreation, and locally owned shops. And the Admissions Office happily points their clients toward specific options. “One of the things that’s been interesting to me is, when

During Great Plates weekend, we had 1,300 people on campus and we featured Great Plates on the app and helped guide people toward where they could dine intentionally,” Trifiletti says. There may not be a better way to see a platinum bike campus in a platinum bike city than with bicycle tours of the university grounds. In 2015, the Office of Admissions hosted a few optional bike tours as part of their information sessions. The sessions were so popular that there were wait lists, prompting the office to offer the two-wheeled jaunts on a regular basis. The program is slated to launch later this year, with the assistance of Recycled Cycles. While the Office of Admissions is committed to helping students decide whether CSU fits their academic needs and financial budgets, the promise of life in Fort Collins remains one of the school’s biggest draws. “If students choose CSU, they’re part of this incredible community,” Trifiletti says.
