“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
B
efore Jesus’ ascension, He said to His disciples, “And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). Then, in our opening verse, He said to them, “You shall receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you.” Why is this important? It’s because there’s no Christianity without the power of the Holy Spirit! The word translated ‘power’ in Acts 1:8 is the Greek word, ‘dunamis’, which means inherent power; the dynamic ability to effect changes. It also means wonder-working or miracle-working ability–it refers to the ability to do the impossible. If you’re born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you’ve received the ability to do the impossible –a supernatural ability! It’s the creative ability of God, for the Bible says He created all things by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now, that same Holy Spirit lives in you. Therefore, you have the divine enablement to accomplish any task, and change hopeless situations; not only for yourself, but also for others. Knowing this, the Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 3:5 (Amplified), “Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments [or] to claim [or] count anything as coming from us, but our power [and] ability [and] sufficiency are from God.” When you function by the ability of the Spirit, you’ll never be at your wit’s end. You’ll never run out of power or the divine might to accomplish whatever tasks may lay ahead of you. Zerubbabel had a lot to accomplish for the Lord, but knew 02 | The Healing School Magazine
he couldn’t do the work with his human ability. That’s when the Lord told the Prophet Zechariah to give him a message saying, “…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit…” (Zechariah 4:6). Now, he wasn’t telling Zerubbabel to just sit back and let the Spirit move him. Rather, God wanted him to function with the ability of the Spirit in accomplishing the work. This was also the secret to the success recorded by the Apostles in the Early Church as they carried out God’s work; they functioned by the power of the Spirit. The Apostle Paul, for one, made copious references to the ability of God’s Spirit in him. In Colossians 1:29, he said, “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” He knew there was something energizing him from within: it was the power of the Spirit. No wonder he said, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). Never say or think that you’re helpless or ordinary; not when the Holy Spirit lives in you! He’s the power of God, and the power-giver. With Him, you can never be defeated or disadvantaged, for His presence and ability in your life make you indomitable! This ability causes you to walk in dominion over devils, sicknesses, diseases, infirmities and death; it causes you to prosper in all areas of your life. Recognize the abilities of the Spirit in you. This consciousness will produce supernatural enablement that will propel you to continually walk in glory, victory, success, excellence and miracles all the way!
I
t was a beautiful Sunday morning, the sun was shining brightly, bathing the world with beauty and warmth. On his way to a service at the Healing School, Ntuthuko Nyembe took in the glory of God displayed in the world around him. He could appreciate the splendor of divinity in everything because his life, too, is a marvelous expression of God’s goodness. On this day, he had one mission: to testify to the world of how his life was transformed from darkness to light, from sickness to supernatural health, from sadness and helplessness to joy unspeakable, full of glory. Ntuthuko had been to the Healing School before, in the year 2016. Back then, he was suffering and in pain as a result of heart failure, arthritis and anemia. His life had been overshadowed by ill health and the dire circumstances of his existence, but a ray of light shone through when Ntuthuko heard about the Healing School. Attending a session was one of the best decisions of Ntuthuko’s life; there, he was healed and made whole by the power of God and his life was given new meaning. All smiles and elated to be telling a different story from the one he’d had the last time, Ntuthuko walked up the stage during the healing service to share his astonishing testimony. “I was at the Healing School in 2016 because of anemia, heart failure and arthritis,” he began.

“I enrolled in the university in 2014. Towards the end of that year, prior to my examinations, I noticed that I was always tired and exhausted, unable to run like before. I was an active young man who played soccer, but after running for just 5 minutes, or doing a very short sprint, my body would feel so dry, as if I hadn’t drank water in a year. I thought it was weakness, and I needed to train more; but when I went back to the gym, there was so much tiredness and my heart began to beat so fast.

I started partnering with the Healing School about 4 years ago because I had this burning pain in my abdomen that the doctors thought might be hernia. s a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19), which means your body isn’t yours; it’s owned by God. However, you’re the one to keep watch over your body and keep it in health. You’re the one to exercise authority over your body, keeping it free of sickness, disease and infirmity. The words of Jesus in our opening verse should let you know that you’re not ordinary; you have the right to tell your body how it should feel. Tell your body what to do, and it’ll respond. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that you shall have what you say. If you’ve been struggling with an addiction, declare with boldness, “I’m not going to let anything dominate me. I keep my body in subjection to the Word of God!” Don’t permit in your body anything that’s not consistent with the Word of God for your life; take charge and rule over your body with the Word of God. When you perceive the symptoms of sickness in your body, reject them, for they only become real when you say they are. Your words aren’t empty; what you say comes to pass; therefore, talk to your body always, and keep it in health. Don’t say, “I have a growth in my stomach and it’s hurting so bad. The doctor says it’s cancer.” Don’t talk about the growth; talk to it instead! Tell it to die and pass out from your body. Tell the pain to cease, and tell your body to function rightly in line with the life of Christ that’s in your spirit. Christ literally lives in you! He dwells in your spirit and expresses Himself through your physical body. Your consciousness of this reality makes it easier for you to exercise dominion over your body against sickness, disease, and infirmity.
CONFESSION
The Spirit of God vitalizes every fiber of my being! The God-life in me destroys sickness, disease and infirmities! I’m healthy and strong! Only the life and nature of Christ–His beauty and glory–are manifested in my physical body, because He perambulates in me, through the Holy Spirit. I’ve got divine health working in every fiber of my being, every cell of my blood, and in every bone of my body! I declare that I have passed from death unto life; I have been translated from darkness into God’s marvelous light. I proclaim that I live the supernatural life; a life of glory, peace, and dominion in the Name of Jesus. I’ve taken a hold of eternal life; therefore, it doesn’t matter what trial, pain or difficulty there may be, I’m unperturbed because I live in, and by, the Word of God. My life is the revelation of the graces and realities of the Word! The very life and nature of God are at work in me now. This life makes me an impregnable breed, not subject to sickness, defeat or failure. I live triumphantly over sickness, disease, Satan, and the systems of this world. Glory to God! God’s Word isn’t just food for my spirit, but also health for my body. It makes me vibrant and productive, and rejuvenates and strengthens my body. By the Word, I am made whole and preserved in divine health. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit quicken my mortal body through and through, in the Name of Jesus. Amen. Disease has no place in me for I am born of God; Christ dwells in me and my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is for God’s glory. I am fortified by the Word of God and strengthened with might by the Holy Ghost. I’m more than a conqueror, through the power of God’s Spirit at work in me. I am a child of God. I refuse to be sick. Sickness doesn’t belong in my body. God’s love has given me life, so I have life in me. I have health in me. I have strength in me. I have the life of God in me. I am alive, well, and sound.
