FIESTA® San Antonio 2009 S

an Antonio comes alive for the 118th anniversary of Fiesta® San Antonio April 16, 2009. The 11-day celebration brings instant revelry, incredilble events and endless potential memories. History Lesson Fiesta® San Antonio takes place every April to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. More than three million people take part in Fiesta and can choose from 108 events that contain something to please every age range, pocketbook and taste. Some 100 local nonprofit groups, members of the Fiesta San Antonio Commission, stage most of the events, with the help of some 75,000 volunteers. Local military organizations also take part, producing their own activities and supporting many others. Major Events Fiesta® events include three major parades—two along Broadway and past the Alamo, and one on the San Antonio River, where the floats really do float. San Antonians and visitors can attend fancy balls, a queen’s coronation, a satirical review or a carnival. They can choose from Louisiana’s cuisine at Taste of New Orleans, all kinds of oysters at the St. Mary’s Oyster Bake or the multicultural offerings of Night in Old San Antonio. Musical options range from Tejano to jazz to Mariachi to rock ’n’ roll to Big Band. History buffs can remember the Alamo at the Pilgrimage to the Alamo or The Alamo: These Sacred Walls. Want athletics? Look for races, soccer, rugby, lacrosse and more. Each year new events add their spice to Fiesta. The 2009 celebration will have three new or returning activities and a big change to the official Fiesta opening: • Fiesta Fiesta, April 16 in front of the Alamo. The Fiesta San Antonio Commission, the nonprofit that coordinates all things Fiesta, marks its 50th birthday in 2009. To celebrate, it’s moving the official start of the festival from Friday morning to Thursday evening. Look for live music on three stages, booths with food, beverages and Fiesta merchandise, and a spectacular fireworks finale. • Tee Off to Fiesta, Golf with Royalty, sponsored by El

Consejo de Reyes Feos Anteriores, April 13 (the Monday before Fiesta’s official start), Silver Horn Golf Course, 1100 Bitters Rd.. This golf tournament will pit Fiesta kings and queens against all comers. It will raise funds for scholarships. • Fiesta Pops, sponsored by the San Antonio Symphony, April 17-19 at the Majestic Theatre. • Chips ’n’ Salsa, sponsored by San Antonio Youth Centers, April 18 at El Tropicano Hotel, 110 Lexington Ave. The event is a casino night and Salsa dance that includes live Salsa music and Salsa dance lessons and features the coronation of the Chips King and Salsa Queen. • Concert by the San Antonio Municipal Band, April 26 at San Antonio College’s McAllister Auditorium, 1300 San Pedro Ave. • This Hallowed Ground, sponsored by Alamo Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, returns to the Alamo April 18. Guides will lead a walking tour of the original perimeter walls of the Alamo. Contact Information Overseeing this massive effort is a single nonprofit organization—the Fiesta® San Antonio Commission. For more information on the Fiesta® San Antonio, visit the commission’s website at www.fiesta-sa.org.

Morton’s the Steakhouse to Host Absinthe Tasting

E

xperience the mystique, allure and ritual of tasting Pernod Absinthe, a high proof distilled spirit during “Absinthe, The Green Hour,” at Morton’s The Steakhouse on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. Pernod gained notoriety in the 19th century as great artists, poets and writers and patrons of Paris cafes popularized the pleasures of absinthe. Controversy about the effects of absinthe led to it being banned in France, the United States and other countries in the early 1900’s. In 2007, the U.S. followed other nations by easing restrictions on distilling and selling absinthe, which was often called the “Green Fairy” at the height of its popularity due in part to its characteristic green color. Just the Facts Priced at $45 per person including tax and gratuity, the event in Morton’s private boardroom will feature

three Pernod Absinthe cocktails and Pernod Absinthe served in the traditional ritual, which involves dripping ice water very slowly over a sugar cube that is placed on a slotted spoon over a glass of absinthe. The water passes through the spoon slots into the drink resulting in a green and flavorful drink. Information Morton’s guests will also enjoy Oysters Rockefeller made with Absinthe, Crabstuffed mushrooms, Sliced Tenderloin on Crostini and Morton’s famed Miniature Prime Cheeseburgers. A Pernod Absinthe expert will guide guests through this unique tasting event and each guest will receive a complementary gift. For more information contact Morton’s The Steakhouse, at (210) 228-0700.

Spa Week in SA s the full impact of the economic downturn becomes painfully apparent, millions of Americans are experiencing the financial challenges of an uncertain future. So, it goes without saying that stress has become an everyday companion for many of us. This is unfortunately the start of a cycle where the average consumer cuts back on many of life’s necessities. Never before has Spa Week’s message been more relevant than in these trying times—the spa lifestyle is not only essential to maintaining one’s health and well-being, but it’s now available and affordable to everyone. National Prominence The 10th edition of the Spa Week Event will be taking place April 13-19, 2009 in over 700 spas across North America including markets such as, Arizona, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, D.C., Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Florida, Long Island, Los Angeles, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto, Canada, and will once again be offering its signature $50 full service spa treatments. A list of participating spas will be posted on www.spaweek.org. A Simple Premise Since its inception, Spa Week Media has been devoted to offering the consumer more for less, and the Company continues to make this its primary goal. In today’s struggling economy, people are understandably hesitant to splurge on expensive and unfamiliar treatments, so Spa Week is the perfect way to enjoy the best that spas have to offer without having to break the bank. One Simple Price The Spa Week Events, taking place each year in the Spring and Fall, are known for offering even the most luxurious of spa treatments, ones that were at one time only available to the rich and famous. Elite services, such as the Ten Hands Massage (which is simultaneously performed by five therapists), the 14 Carat Gold Facial, and the Caviar Facial, all normally costing hundreds of dollars, have been offered during the Event at the $50 price point. Also accessible for only $50 each are medical treatments like Botox injections, Diamond-tip Microdermabrasion, and Chemical Peels. The idea is to afford everyone the ability to experience even these typically pricey procedures and the amazing benefits the spa lifestyle can bring. At Spa Week, it’s all about helping you to feel good on the inside and look good on the outside. A Healthy LIfestyle As always, the goal of Spa Week is to introduce a new generation of consumers to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and to open up the spa industry to the masses. Spa Week’s goal is to make “wellness” more than just a word, but to make it a reality. By educating consumers to the health benefits of the spa lifestyle, Spa Week is taking a leadership role in the campaign to change the unhealthy course the country is navigating. Round Rock, Texas

The Sports Capital of Texas is So Much More

T

ucked away, about 20 minutes north of the State Capital lies a unique city with historical charm and up-to-date amenities. From the incredible sports fields to shopping to history, Round Rock, Texas is a spot for any traveler to fall in love with. A History Lesson In 1851 a small community was formed on the banks of Brushy Creek, near a large round rock located in the middle of the creek. This round rock marked a convenient low-water crossing for wagons, horses and cattle. The first postmaster called the community Brushy Creek, but in 1854 the small settlement was renamed Round Rock in honor of this now famous rock. The “round rock” is located near Chisholm Trail Street in the middle of Brushy Creek. After the Civil War, Jesse Chisholm began to move cattle from South Texas through Round Rock, on the way to Abilene, Kansas. The route he established, which crossed Brushy Creek at the round rock, became known as the Chisholm Trail. Most of the old buildings, including the old Saint Charles Hotel, are still there today. This historic area is now called “Old Town.” A True Sports Capital! The city is home to the Triple A Baseball team, the Round Rock Express and boasts some of the best am-

eteur athletic fields in the United States. Old Settler’s Park is a true vision. Situated on 570 total acres, this athletic kingdom offers 20 baseball fields, 5 softball fields, two football fields, 5 regulation soccer fields and 12 half-size soccer fields as well. The area has a ton of parking and plays host to state and national ameteur athletic events. Keeping families together in sports is important for the community, so the Old Settler’s Park also has seven playgrounds, five delectable concession stands, two large pavilions, 22 picnic tables and a very fun aquatic center to keep you cool. Shopping Shopping is an important sport all in its own right and Round Rock doesn’t disappoint. Loaded with it’s own Premium Outlet mall, an IKEA and a host of quaint little shops, you are sure to find some to your liking and budget. The Round Rock Premium Outlets offer discerning shoppers an impressive variety of merchandise including designer apparel for women, men and children, shoes, fashion accessories, high quality leather goods, home furnishings, gifts and more. Guests can stroll through beautiful courtyards and shop 120 designer and name-brand outlet stores. Golf Anyone? The area is also home to some top-notch golf courses if you require some time on the links. Check out Legacy Hills, Avery Ranch, Blackhawk, Forest Creek, Teravista or White Wing Golf clubs. You are sure to find a course made for your skill and budget! Where do I stay? Whether you are staying for a sports tournament or just want to take in some of the area’s sights, Round Rock has a myriad of properties for you to stay at that meet all your budget needs and expectations, ranging from full-service to limited-service properties. If you are in need of a block of rooms, make sure you check out the Round Rock CVBs website for more information. Visit them at www.sportscapitaloftexas.com.

Waco, Texas:

A Piece of Texas History at your Fingertips One of Texas’ major cities, located in rich agricultural region of the Brazos River Valley. Modern industry thrives, but city retains flavor of its past when five “C’s” were its support: cattle, cotton, corn, collegians, and culture. Large, cold springs on the Brazos River were long popular with the Waco Indians. First non-natives to see area were remnants of De Soto’s band in 1542. Texas Ranger fort established near Indian village in 1837; first white settlers came 12 years later. Great plantations along the Brazos prospered briefly, but Civil War wrecked plantation economy and scattered population. Renewed Western movement and Chisholm Trail through

Waco brought another boom-and frontier wildness that nicknamed the town “Six-shooter Junction.” Today known for educational, cultural, and recreational facilities. Heart O’ Texas Fair and Rodeo, first week in Oct., is professional rodeo with entertainers, livestock and horse shows, and fine arts exhibits. Institutions of higher learning are Baylor Univ., McLennan Community College, and Texas State Technical College. A beautiful scenic riverwalk meanders along the Brazos River from Fort Fisher Park past the suspension bridge and through Cameron Park to Herring Avenue. After a five-year absence, the Texas Stage returns to the Library Plaza in 2009, thanks to a generous grant from the Houston Endowment. The programming on this stage recreates the 2008 Smithsonian Folklife Festival’s salute to Texas music, with headliners Marcia Ball, April 18; CJ Chenier, April 19; Little Joe y la Familia, April 25; and Los Tres Reyes de Accordiones with Flaco Jimenez, Joel Guzman and Jaime deAnda, April 26. The carefully curated lineup represents the state’s unique country, blues, gospel, Hispanic and Cajun heritage, including El Paso’s fabulous Mariachi Los Arrieros, Big Spring’s legendary Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, Bay City’s spirit-raising Jones Family Singers, Austin singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix, San Antonio’s conjunto accordion kings Los Texmaniacs and Houston’s own ageless blues guitar hero, Texas Johnny Brown. The Houston International Festival is proud to bring the Smithsonian’s hugely successful musical tribute in Washington D.C. back to the Lone Star State. Louisiana Stage The Louisiana Stage in Tranquility Park will feature the distinctive Gulf Coast musical gumbo audiences. Dance to the world’s best Cajun and zydeco bands, including BeauSoleil, Keith Frank, Step Rideau, J. Paul Jr., Lil Brian Terry, Lil Malcolm, Cedric Watson, Feufollet and the Lost Bayou Ramblers. Joining Kevin and his trio each day will be top regional Irish and Celtic artists such as Danny O’Flaherty, Lonestar Stout, Clandestine and Constant Billy, as well as acoustic Texas artists the Quebe Sisters Band, Les Amis Creole, Charles Thibodeaux and the Gillette Brothers. Each day, a programming segment will be dedicated to Texas artists meeting Irish artists to demonstrate the Celtic connection to regional country, Cajun and Creole traditions.

www.thehotelguide.com The Chron.com Houston Stage, on the patio on the backside of City Hall, is a great place for Festival-goers to camp out for a few hours, enjoy the shade and a cold beverage while listening to a variety of music genres. At this year’s Festival, the stage will present a stylistically diverse mix of the top local and regional bands, including Irish rockers the Blaggards, the Killdares and Needfire; honky-tonker James Hand; gospel shouters the Original Soul Invaders; polka stompers Mark Halata & Texavia; and Zydeco party hounds Big Red & the Playmakers and the Zydeco Dots. H-E-B Cultural Stage The H-E-B Cultural Stage and the Gaelic Stage, both located in the Living Museum area of Upper Sam Houston Park, represent the cultural heart of this year’s Irish theme. From harps, bagpipes and story-telling bards to Irish step-dance lessons, cooking demonstrations and literary readings, these stages honor the ongoing ancestral connection between Ireland and the Irish in America. Each Festival day will kick-off with a marching bagpipes band parade from the Gaelic Stage to Center Stage. Latin Stage The Latin Stage, which alternates set times in Library Plaza with the Texas Stage, features a culturally diverse mix of Flamenco, Mariachi, Ballet Folklorico, Conjunto, Salsa, and Spanish Celtic music. African drumming, dancing and Caribbean parades will fill Lower Tranquility Park, where the new African-Caribbean Zone picks up where last year’s festival honoring the theme “Out of Africa” left off. Target International Kids Stage The Target International Kids Stage in the Target Kids Zone will again present a daily variety of ethnic dance troupes and youth groups showcasing Houston’s abundance of international diversity – from Africa and Asia to Europe and the Americas. Of course, the local Irish dance troupes will be prominently featured each day with their colorful costumes and golden curls. And offering further evidence of Houston’s importance as an international center, the Sister Cities Stage features excellent music and dance programming presented by the local Sister Cities Associations. 50th Annual Tyler Azalea Trail Tyler, Texas

F

or 50 years now, the Tyler Azalea Trail has been a staple of this East Texas community. Know nationwide for for the incredible beauty and majesty of the trail, this event is a can’t miss opportunity that runs from March 20th - April 5th.

History of the Azalea Trail

While oil booms gave Tyler an economic head start in the 1930’s, azalea and rose blooms gave the city its beauty. Azaleas were introduced to Tyler in 1929 by Maurice Shamburger, one of the city’s early nurserymen. Pleased with results of a test garden of azaleas, Shamburger shipped the colorful plants here by the boxcar loads from Georgia. After completing his garden in 1929, Shamburger discussed the beautification potential of azaleas with Mrs. Sara Butler of the Tyler Courier Times Telegraph. Mrs. Butler not only encouraged Shamburger to promote azalea plantings in the city, but planted a number of bushes at her own home on Charnwood St. That home site, along with several other gardens on Lindsey Lane, soon became springtime showplaces with their colorful azalea blooms, and Tylerites began buying the plants by the thousands. Some of the thick, towering azaleas at older homes on the Trail date back to the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. By 1960, the blooming azaleas were attracting much attention, and that year the Chamber of Commerce established a marked route. The first Trail featured about 60 homes on a five-mile route. The Trail was an instant success. Within two years it had expanded to 75 homes and was attracting 15,000 visitors. By 1964, 25,000 people a year were coming to see the azaleas. In 1986, it expanded to two miles and as of 2004; the Azalea Trail stretches eight miles and attracts over 100,000 visitors to Tyler. The homeowners make the Trail the success it is. They regularly increase their azalea plantings and spend countless hours making sure their yards are spotless for the annual visitors. The Trail has been featured in numerous newspapers and maga-

zines, including Southern Living and Texas Highways, drawing visitors from all over America. Events Galore The Trail offers guests a myriad of things to see along with the entire city of Tyler. Guests can stop on in at the Tyler Rose Museum, which features more than 14 acres, 38,000 rose bushes and more than 500 rose varieties. For more information on all the area events, call (800) 2529367 or visit them online at www.tylerazaleatrail.com.

Scheduled to open in 2009, the 66-acre development will include ARIA a 61story, 4000-room gaming resort; three luxury non-gaming hotels including Las Vegas’ first Mandarin Oriental, The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences and Vdara Hotel; Veer Towers, the development’s only strictly residential buildings; approximately 2,600 condominiums residences; and Crystals, a 500,000-square-foot retail and entertainment district. Delmonico Steakhouse article by: Dale Blasingame

I once got into an argument with a friend who lives in Las Vegas. I asked how he could justify never coming to the Strip. He countered by asking me how often I visit the Alamo. I told him never. He replied with, “Well, there you go. I have no reason to go to the Strip. That’s unless someone wants to take me to Delmonico.” Now I know what he was talking about. Delmonico Steakhouse is in a great spot - in the walkway between two of the most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas, Venetian and Palazzo. The design is very contemporary, very minimalistic. Once you’re seated, a trio of waiters is there to provide some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. From the advice to the help with the menu, it’s all there. Plus, your glass never gets below half-full (or half-empty, depending on your outlook). So let’s talk about the meal itself. For starters, we had some delicious pulled pork with BBQ sauce. I’ll be honest - I was a bit nervous. Believe it or not, I’m from Texas and I’m not a fan of BBQ sauce. But this dish pulled it all together. It really was a very pleasant surprise. Then it was time for the main event. I ordered the house specialty - the Bone in Rib Steak. Let me get this out of the way - I am one of the weird souls who orders a steak well done. I know, I know. Regardless, a few short minutes later, the steak arrived and nearly overtook the entire plate. You can instantly tell why this is the specialty. Every bite was mouthwatering and even though the steak was huge, I found myself looking for other bits of meat - just for that one last bite. And it may sound trivial, but Delmonico also has the most delicious bread I’ve ever had in my life. Then it was time for dessert. Being a fan of whisky, I was immediately drawn to the Butterscotch Pudding. That may not make sense - until you factor in the splash of Johnny Walker. It’s a perfect mix. The whisky really adds to the butterscotch flavor, without overpowering it. And the brown sugar shortbread? It literally melted in my mouth. I should mention that someone else in my party ordered the dessert that chef/owner Emeril Lagasse is known for - the banana crème pie. Believe me – it lives up to the hype. My trip to Delmonico can be summed up in three words...Impeccable,Amazing, & Delicious. For more information, click here.

Question #1

Okay, Mr. Vegas expert. I need help. I’m the best man at my buddy’s wedding and the bachelor party is in Vegas. Here’s the catch. It’s a bachelor/bachelorette party. I’ve been to Vegas many (many!) times, but when I go – the fine dining is at eitherPanda Express or Chipotle (which are both in the same spot!). These women seem to want to eat some place nice, which is something I don’t do in Vegas. I need your help finding three good restaurants that are worth the money we’re about to spend. A sushi restaurant would be a plus. ALSO! We need to find a trashy and fun karaoke bar. Thanks! - Michael

get a great rate at one of the top spots. Also keep a close eye on Planet Hollywood and Treasure Island. Both are really nice and don’t come with a hefty price tag, usually.

Question #3

Ask The Hotel Guide

The Hotel Guide First - the karaoke. I’m not a big karaoke fan, but friends who have lived in Las Vegas say you have to go to Ellis Island. It’s a dive casino off the strip but they have karaoke every night. For a sushi place, I would recommend Sushi Samba. It’s a new place in Palazzo and it is sushi meets South America. I’ve heard rave reviews. A couple of other fine dining choices are Table 10 (which is Emeril’s new restaurant at Palazzo). It’s literally right next door to Sushi Samba. Another choice would be Nobhill at MGM. It’s a Michael Mina restaurant. Or if you’re interested in seafood, Mina has that covered at Bellagio. Then one night you have to go to a steak house. I would recommend Delmonico at the Venetian. SW Steakhouse at Wynn also comes highly regarded.

Question #2

I’m planning a trip to Las Vegas in August. Where do you recommend staying that is nice but not too expensive? - Carly The Hotel Guide Right now you’re so far out that you should go to every single hotel’s web site and sign up for their email lists. Even the luxury hotels right now are throwing out some amazing deals, so it’s very possible that you could

I’ve visited Vegas several times, but only once have I been to a spa. That was at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. Our next trip we’ll be staying at Bellagio. What do you think of their spa? Do you know of any spa treatments they offer for couples? Thanks. - Gabe

The Hotel Guide Bellagio has one of the more amazing spas you’ll ever see. It literally covers most of the second floor of the hotel and casino (just think about how big that is). I’m also a huge fan of The Hotel’s spa, but Bellagio has a totally different vibe. It’s all about luxury. I would highly recommend making a stop there. Bellagio does have everything from a side by side massage to a complete couple’s package (which runs about $1k). Just depends on how much money you’re looking to spend.

Question #4

I’m planning a trip to Las Vegas myself and was wondering where the best place to play poker is. I’ve seen some decent poker rooms on my previous trips, but want to play at the best next time. - Kyle The Hotel Guide Bellagio has long been the gold standard when it comes to poker rooms. But Wynn, Venetian and Caesars also have really strong rooms in terms of player strength. My favorite room to play in though is Monte Carlo. I always recommend first-time Vegas players to go there first. The room is so low-key and relaxed and you can get used to the action of being at a real card table, in case you’ve never played in a real setting before. Las Vegas Top Picks

It really can be overwhelming to go to Las Vegas for the first time (or the second or third times). There’s just so much to do, so much to see –and you shouldn’t feel bad for not knowing where to start. That’s where The Hotel Guide comes in. Here are our suggestions for the must-see spots to check out if you’re making a trip to Sin City this spring.

Top Vegas Pools Rehab at Hard Rock You know a pool is crazy when it gets its own reality-TV show. This truly is Las Vegas’ ultimate pool party. It’s a nightclub in the middle of the day - with much less clothing. “Total debauchery,” says Mecca Entertainment’s Bill Le. “This is where you’ll find world class DJs, a sexy staff and the sexiest women ever.”Rehab opens for the season on April 19th. www.rehablv.com Mandalay Bay Beach This is the most mind-blowing pool in Las Vegas. Eleven acres, three pools, real sand, waves, a lazy river, an outdoor casino, a restaurant – shall I continue? The Beach has a party vibe, but like a real beach, there is more than enough room for families to feel comfortable, as well. There’s also a topless pool (Moorea Beach Club) where things can get naughty, if you choose. Wet Republic at MGM Grand The new kid on the block is making quite an impression. You’ve probably heard of “ultra lounges” before – but this is the firstever “ultra pool.” Wet Republic has established itself as one of the top

party spots in Las Vegas, with a different vibe than places like Rehab. “It’s a more intimate party spot,” says Le. “People don’t get as drunk and stupid here.” Wet Republic opens for the season on March 13th.

Top Vegas Nightclubs Body English at Hard Rock I don’t know how many times I’ve been to Body English, but each time I’ve left thinking, “Man, that was one of the best nights of my life.” But this club is much more than a cool vibe and long lines at the door. “BodyEnglish has the best staff and the best music,” says Le. The guy to girl ratio is also something to behold. Do whatever you can to get to Body English on a Sunday night. Trust me. Body English is open Wednesday-Sunday. Tao at Venetian Tao is all about sensory overload. “Stunning visuals and décor,” says Le. Where else can you dance and watch a girl take a bath? Or watch a massage in process? One other piece of advice – make sure to check out the upstairs bathroom. The wall to wall windows frost up when someone goes inside. Yes, this place is so cool that even the bathrooms are must-see. Tao is open Thursday-Saturday.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

Pure at Caesars Palace This is the ultimate spot to see celebrities and be seen. Pure is huge –40,000 square feet – and has something for everyone, including a great view of the Strip. Pure is also all about service. “This is where VIP means VIP,” says Le. “They really know how to treat the people who are looking for something special.” Pure is open Friday-Sunday & Tuesday.

Top Vegas Hip Spots Planet Hollywood Talk about a dramatic makeover. What used to be a stale and boring hotel (Aladdin) is now one of the most happening spots on the Strip. All it needed was a new owner and some TLC. “Planet Hollywood is a hotel with a split personality,” says Le. “During the day, it’s a good spot to grab food, go shopping and walk around. At night, it turns into a hip new hotel with great restaurants, lounges, bars and clubs.” Palms Palms Hotel & Casino burst onto the scene with The Real World – and that run continues today. This place has seen not one, but two reality-TV shows (INKED was filmed at Hart & Huntington Tattoo). Oh yeah, and did I tell you Playboy is at Palms? The world’s only Playboy Club is right here. Make sure and check out Moon and Ghost Bar – two bars with some of the most amazing views in Las Vegas. Hard Rock It makes sense for Hard Rock to be on this list, considering our rave reviews of Rehab and Body English. But the vibe inside the hotel certainly holds its own. “It’s like your local dive bar and your hip spot to be at the same time,” says Le. “People actually get to know you, theregulars.” Try to squeeze your way into Circle Bar next time you’rethere. If not, go play some blackjack. The dealers are gorgeous. So there you have it – our suggestions for the mustsee places if you’re making one of your first trips to Las Vegas.
