TH 12 ANNUAL EWOC VIRTUAL & SUMMIT AWARDS 9th Annual Exceptional Women of EXPO Color Conference
Dear Colleagues, Friends & Newcomers, We warmly welcome you to join us in celebrating the bold, courageous, and exceptional women of color among us. Living in the era of COVID-19, has not quelled but rather amplified the voices of women of color. You will witness it over the next three days at the 12th Annual Exceptional Women of Color (EWOC) Virtual Summit, October 1-3, 2020. A diverse group of black and brown creators, policy makers, social influencers and entrepreneurs will share their personal experiences and call us to claim our narrative and restructure the way our world lives. The convergence of a viral pandemic, economic instability, climate induced destruction, and abuse of power has stirred social unrest in every corner of our communities. While some see only the rage, the unifying spirit across all of these challenging issues is to uphold the opportunity for everyone to experience their personalized version of a healthy and financially prosperous good life, however they choose to live it. That central aspiration for each of us is what is great about America. Growing together and learning from one another is what you get by attending the EWOC Virtual Summit. This 3-day virtual experience is full of excitement, encouragement and good energy to bring us closer, even as we social distance to protect the health of our seniors, families, neighbors and even strangers whose lives matter. We’re glad to announce you’ll get your own Exceptional Women of Color mask to mark this special occasion and help you be safe out in the community. EWOC 2020’s speakers are dynamic women showing us how to succeed and nurture success in other women, men and youth as we climb. Keynote speaker Wendy Raquel Robinson, Award-Winning Actress & Co-Founder of Amazing Grace Conservatory is celebrating more than 20 years of navigating the entertainment industry and cultivating emerging artists ages 5-18. Black upstart an organization that builds African American small businesses helping them get started in job creation and bankable small business is run by Kezia Williams, CEO and her team of professionals. They’ll demonstrate how cooperation and collaboration work to keep African American businesses afloat in a challenging new economy. Add to that the keynote conversation, webinars, interviews, panel discussions, EWOC Excellence Awards spotlight and you’ll find connections that expand your ideas and solutions. Sac Cultural Hub Media Foundation strives to inform, protect, uplift, and empower our communities no matter what the future holds. We hope that you enjoy this 2020 virtual conference format and continue to embrace the power of your own story.

She continues to strive for excellence in her career as an artist, scholar, and mentor. Robinson lets no grass grow under her feet and continues to push forward mentoring youth and young adults, while working on television, film and staged, theatrical productions. The series revolved around the colorful lives of the hotel staff and its wealthy, beautiful guests who bask in luxury, but not without scandals, financial debt and explosive secrets that hide beneath the flawless exterior. “Grand Hotel” was executive produced by Eva Longoria and written by Brian Tanen. For nine years, Robinson portrayed the popular role of “Tasha Mack,” the feisty, sexy, single mom-manager of a professional football player on the CW and BET’s dramedy. Recently, Netflix announced adding “The Game” to their lineup beginning August 15, 2020. “The Game” is based on the story of women who have relationships with professional football players. Robinson also played the “no nonsense diva principal, ‘Regina Grier’ on the “The Steve Harvey Show” for six years. Robinson continued working and secured a role, making her the first African American actor to portray Disney’s, iconic villain, Cruella DeVille, for the Disney Channel’s, “Descendants” directed by the Emmy Award-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega (“High School Musical,” “The Is It”). What makes the women of Hundreds Unit unique is that they consist of ALL shapes, sizes, ages, and levels of ability, dancing as one UNIT in their own unique way! The events that are secured, are venues that are exciting and draw hundreds and thousands of people. The idea behind this is that in addition to our participants being drawn to the opportunity to perform on such platforms, it also inspires them to commit to the entirety of our 6-8 week dance and fitness program, through a massive accountability group, performing in numbers of 50 to well over 100 women. This process exposes the women of the Unit to different workout regimens, it encourages them to strive to accomplish their health and wellness goals regardless of how they presently may feel about themselves, and provides networking opportunities within the Unit, as the group encompasses women from different backgrounds and careers. Essentially this program is designed to nurture the mind, body, and soul, long term, through empowerment provided through our Units. Hundreds Unit is changing the lives of these women, by providing them with extraordinary experiences and opportunities that they would otherwise only dream of having. The Hundreds Unit concept was birthed by Venetia James in 2016, and has been featured several times at the Sacramento Kings games, V101.1 Concerts held at the Golden 1 Center and Thunder Valley. River Cats, Sac Republic, California State Fair, Cal Expo, 49ers at Levi’s Stadium, Black Women United marches, Black Joy Parade in Oakland, California, and many more events and television features! In October 2019 the group was the show opener at the Exceptional Women of Color’s 11th annual celebration at the Mondavi Center at UC Davis, as well as debuted at the Warriors game in the new Chase Center in San Francisco on the group’s anniversary day, Saturday, January 4, 2020! Just recently in September 2020 Hundreds Unit was selected as one of the top 5 FINALISTS in the Republic FC Kickstart Black-owned business contest and is in the running for a $5,000 grant opportunity. Hundreds Unit, in addition to being proud of their accomplishments, anticipates expansion of its movement both locally, and nationally! 16
