Global leaders, politicians and community leaders have wished King Charles III a “speedy recovery” following the shock news that he has started treatment for cancer. Buckingham Palace stunned the nation and world in a statement about his health on Monday evening. A ‘separate issue of concern’ was discovered during the King’s recent prostate treatment in London at the end of last month, the statement noted, adding that ‘subsequent diagnostic tests’ had identified a form of cancer. The King had begun a ‘schedule of regular treatments’. Doctors had advised he postpones ‘public-facing duties’ but will continue ‘state business and official paperwork’ as usual. King Charles is ‘wholly positive’ about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty, added the statement.
