St Joseph School of Gagalangin (SJS) is finally back and better than ever!

After two whole years of online learning, Josephians finally return to campus for in-person classes for the school year 2022-2023
With the pledge, "Patuloy na Aalagaan, Aarugain, at Aakapin," SJS shifts to HYFLEX modality: a combination of hybrid with the flexibility of online classes through Zoom and face-to-face (FTF) classes to which students may choose from three modalities, HYFLEX
A (three days FTF and two days online learning), HYFLEX
B (five days online learning), and HYFLEX C (modular learning) And as HYFLEX A students finally return to St Joseph School, they are met with a refurbished campus;
Sjs Wins 1st Place In The Itcup Challenge 2023

On the 15th of April, selected students of St Joseph School of Gagalangin ranked first out of three places in the ITCUP challenge with the theme, "The Power of IoT towards Digital Leadership " The school was represented by Adrienne R Cabochan, Ryu S Copiaco, and Ethan S Lim with the assistance of their coach, Mr. Esmeraldo Guimbarda Jr. The competition was held in De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, Design and Arts Campus, and was attended by over 50 schools within Luzon This competition was open for Grades 7-10 students within TechnoKids Philippines' coverage
The challenge focuses mainly on the ability of the contestants to be innovative and strategic the game aims to design a robot and solve a color maze to get as far as possible However, what proved to be quite taxing was how inconsistent each run of the paths was, given that the robots were not remotely controlled; they were programmed
Determined to win and preserve their school's record, the contestants arranged days with their coach Mr Esmeraldo Guimbarda Jr , to train for the said competition. Guimbarda helped them create and design the optimal robot for their classrooms are newly painted, latest air conditioning and televisions are installed, and safety measures are implemented
And while the new batch of the Josephian Diadem and the Student Coordinating Body are immersed with their own functions, other club organizations are also being reinforced
The Red Cross Youth, moderated by Mr. Mark Ryan Gilo, is a club that aims to educate junior and senior high school students on life-saving skills, and the Peer Circle Society, moderated by Mrs. Camille Nica Trinidad MAEd, a club dedicated to enhancing the communication skills among peers and acquiring competences, attitudes, and values necessary to make logical choices in dealing with personal difficulties.
In a brief interview with Mrs. Trinidad, the Head of Student Activities of SJS states that as the school works its way to normalcy, several club organizations will soon be reestablished. It will further be mandatory for students to enlist for their desired clubs as part of their extracurricular activities for the upcoming school year 2023-2024.
St. Joseph School continues to prove that even a pandemic cannot impede its mission of creating a better and safer environment to provide a Catholic quality education to its students for years to come.
Purpose And Developed The Code Required Alongside Them
With teamwork and a prolonged time, St Joseph School of Gagalangin rose victorious despite the challenges. Even though the contestants were given plenty of days to prepare only five the minutes were given to calibrate the robot and ten minutes to complete the maze With only a fourth of the track given beforehand, this was the most challenging part of the game, as last-minute changes had to be made to account for the new information
