January 2014

Dia de Los Reyes January 6th is Three Kings Day. It is a date celebrated throughout Latin America, Spain, and in Hispanic communities of the United States. This is the Epiphany of the church calendar, the 12th day after Christmas, when the Magi arrived bearing gifts for baby Jesus. Traditionally, the three kings, Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar, representing Arabia, the Orient, and Africa, arrived on horse, camel and elephant, bringing respectively gold, frankincense and myrrh to the baby Jesus. Children (and many adults) would traditionally put out their shoes with a bit of hay in them to feed the animals of the kings and leave their shoes ready for the Kings' presents before they go to bed on the eve of January 6. The next morning their gifts will have appeared in the place of the hay, or if the children are deemed to have misbehaved during the year, coal (usually a lump of hard sugar candy dyed black). Nowadays, like Santa Clause, the Kings tend to place their gifts under the Christmas tree instead of in a shoe. Children typically receive presents on this day, rather than on Christmas, though this tradition has changed lately, and children now receive presents on both days.

Most towns arrange colourful parades representing the arrival of the Reyes Magos to town so children can see them with their camels or carriages before they go to bed. Sweet wine, nibbles, fruit and milk are left for the Kings and their camels. In the days preceding Three Kings Day, children write letters to the Magi requesting a toy or gift that they would like. On the night of January 5th, the figures of the Wise Men are placed in the nativity scene. The most iconic tradition associated with Three Kings Day is the customary eating of a Rosca de Reyes (King’s Ring), a sweet bread shaped like a wreath, with candied fruit on top, and a figurine of a baby Jesus baked inside. The person who finds the figurine is expected to host a party on Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas), celebrated on February 2nd. In Britain, the celebration of the Night before Epiphany, Epiphany Eve, is known as Twelfth Night and was a traditional time for mumming and the wassail. The yule

January 2014 log was left burning until this day, and the charcoal left was kept until the next Christmas to kindle next year's yule log, as well as to protect the house from fire and lightning. In the past, Epiphany was also a day for playing practical jokes, similar to April Fool's Day. Today in England, Twelfth Night is still as popular a day for plays as when Shakespeare's Twelfth Night was first performed in 1601, and annual celebrations involving the Holly Man are held in London. A traditional dish for Epiphany was Twelfth Cake, a rich, dense, typically English fruitcake. As in Europe, whoever found the baked-in bean was king for a day, but unique to English tradition other items were sometimes included in the cake. Whoever found the clove was the villain, the twig, the fool, and the rag, the tart. Anything spicy or hot, like ginger snaps and spiced ale, was considered proper Twelfth Night fare, recalling the costly spices brought by the Wise Men. Another English dessert was the jam tart, but made into a six-point star for the occasion to symbolize the Star of Bethlehem, and thus called Epiphany tart. The discerning English cook sometimes tried to use thirteen different coloured jams on the tart on this day for luck, creating a dessert with the appearance of stained glass. In parts of southern India, Epiphany is called the Three Kings Festival, like here in Spain, and is celebrated in front of the local church like a fair. Families come together and cook sweet rice porridge called Pongal. This day marks the close of the Advent and Christmas season and people remove the cribs and nativity sets at home. In Goa Epiphany may be locally known by its Portuguese name Festa dos Reis. Celebrations include a widely attended procession, with boys arrayed as the Three Kings, leading to the Franciscan Chapel of the Magi near the Goan capital of Panjim. Other popular Epiphany processions are held in Chandor. Here three young boys in regal robes and splendid crowns descend the nearby hill of Our Lady of Mercy on horseback towards the main church where a three-hour festival Mass is celebrated. The route before them is decorated with streamers, palm leaves and balloons with the smallest children present lining the way, shouting greetings to the Kings. The Kings are traditionally chosen, one each, from Chandor's three hamlets of

Kott, Cavorim and Gurdolim, whose residents helped build the Chandor church in 1645. There are varying stories about Epiphany and Italy. According to the Roman author Macrobius, and English antiquarian John Brand, the word "Epiphania" was transformed into Befana, the great fair held at that season, when sigillaria of terracotta or baked pastry were sold. In popular folklore, Befana, an old woman, visits the children of parts of Italy on the eve of January 6 to fill their socks with candy and presents if they had been good or a lump of coal or dark candy if they had been bad. In other regions, especially Sicily, the South, and Abruzzo children may look forward instead to a visit from the three Wise Men themselves, a sign of the region's historical ties to Spain. In Puerto Rico, it is traditional for children to fill a box with fresh grass or hay and put it underneath their bed, for the Wise Men's camels. The three kings will then take the grass to feed the camels and will leave gifts under the bed as a reward. These traditions are analogous to the customs of children leaving mince pies and sherry out for Father Christmas in Western Europe or leaving milk and cookies for Santa Claus in the United States. In the United States, in Colorado around Manitou Springs, Epiphany is marked by the Great Fruitcake Toss. Fruitcakes are thrown, participants dress as kings, fools, etc., and competitions are held for the farthest throw, the most creative projectile device, etc. As with customs in other countries, the fruitcake toss is a sort of festive symbolic leave-taking of the Christmas holidays until next year, but with humorous twist, since fruitcake (although the traditional Christmas bread of America, England and other English speaking nations) is considered in the United States with a certain degree of derision, and is the source of many jokes.

NEW INFORME LETTERS FROM TRAFICO The DGT (Dirección General de Trafico) are currently modernising their computer system, website, and have introduced the appointment only system. This is good news all round, for most people. However, many may soon receive letters from Trafico relating to vehicles that you may have owned in the past; all vehicle owners that own a car over 10 years old will receive one. It is a fairly comprehensive document, and is very similar to a Vida Laboral document, except instead of one’s “work history”, this is the “cars life history”. You may have quite a surprise to receive one, and find that a vehicle in the past that, in the eyes of trafico, is still in your name! Don´t panic, give us a call and let us sort your problem out. There are various sections, which are listed below, with the latest information that Trafico has on the vehicle. VEHICLE INFORMATION : OWNERS DETAILS Name, DNI/NIE number, address VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS 1st Registration Date, Make & Model, Chassis number, Fuel type, Horsepower VEHICLE TECHNICAL INSPECTION (ITV) They will inform you if they have been informed if the vehicle has or hasn´t got a valid ITV. ADMINISTRATIVE SITUATION OF VEHICLE : ADDRESS Current registered address of vehicle on the Permiso de Circulación INSURANCE This will either show your current insurance details, or specify that Trafico have no information that your vehicle is currently insured (which will then need to be rectified) Other possible headings that may appear in this section: EMBARGO: this will indicate if there is currently an embargo (judicial or monetary debt) which needs to be liquidated HIRE PURCHASE: this will indicate if the vehicle was bought under Hire Purchase, in which case full ownership won´t take place until all payments are finished. RENTING: this indicates the existence of a rental contract which has been registered with the Registry. SEAL: this indicates that judicially the vehicle has been effectively sealed off and is legally immobilised. LEASING: this indicates the existence of a rental contract with option to buy which has been registered with the Registry. Once all payments have been made, ownership will then transfer to the new owner and the contract will be removed from the Registry. If you receive one of these letters, you could be in one of the following scenarios : • You used to own, but no longer do, the vehicle • You still own the vehicle • You still own the vehicle, but some of the information is wrong Whichever it may be, don´t panic, just contact Pro Business Support either by phone on 966 923 963, or by email on info@jjtrustsl.com , and we know exactly what to do to help you.

Strange New Years Traditions New Year is a time that is celebrated by all regardless of the origin, nationality and cultural background. People believe that the coming year will fill their life with love, bliss, wealth and good fortune. They pray to get rid of all the ill fated memories of the past. New Year is considered the best time to make promises and resolutions and to straighten ones self. We’ve complied 10 funny, weird or freaky New Year customs, traditions and festivals practiced around the globe. Mistletoe Leaves Are Placed Under Pillow To Find Husband The single women of Ireland wait desperately for the New Year’s night because it is the night that can bring them the love of their life. They place mistletoe leaves under their pillow hoping to catch their future husband. It is also believed in Irish culture that it helps them get rid of bad luck.

Breaking Dishes On Neighbor’s Door A strange and weird Danish New Year tradition is throwing breakable dishes at a neighbour's door. Strangely this makes them happy instead of annoying them. The family with the most huge tower of broken plates, glasses, cups and other crockery is considered to be the most lucky one because it means that they have lots of loyal friends.

Talking to Spirits

Ecuador has a unique custom of making scarecrows and burning them at midnight. They dress up and fill the scarecrows with newspapers and pieces of wood. As midnight approaches, everyone gathers outside their home and each family burns their scarecrow. The tradition says that this destroys all the bad things that took place in the past 12 months.

Talking to spirits is a part of Mexican belief. Mexicans strongly believe that they can communicate with the souls of their dead loved ones. New Year eve is considered the best time to communicate with the dead spirits to convey a message or ask for guidance. And this is not done at home on individuals basis but is practiced legally.

Imagine streets full of people wearing polka dots and dinning table full of round shaped food and fruits on one single day of the year. This all actually happens in Philippine on the New Year eve every year. Philippines believe that this will bring them prosperity by associating the round dots to coins and wealth.

Imagine you are made to watch the same programme or show every year on New Years eve. Same dialogues, same script and nothing new. Is this fun or torture? In Germany this weird practice is carried by the Germans since 1972. Every single year, on midnight Germans watch the British show “Dinner for One.” The origin of the tradition is unknown.

The people of Talca are celebrating the new year with their dead relatives. The doors of the cemetery are opened for the local public by the Town’s mayor at 11 pm sharp. People are welcomed in the cemetery with light classical music and dim blinking lights making the cemetery are perfect party place.

mer for 15 mins until the potato is tender, then remove the bay leaves. 3.Purée with a blender until very smooth. Season to taste and add a pinch more sugar if it needs it. The soup can now be cooled and chilled for up to 2 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.

Red Lentil, Chickpea & Chilli Soup Ingredients 2 tsp cumin seeds large pinch chilli flakes 1 tbsp olive oil 1 red onion 140g red split lentils 850ml vegetable stock or water 400g can tomatoes 200g chickpeas small bunch coriander 4 tbsp yogurt Method 1.Heat a large saucepan and dryfry the cumin seeds and chilli flakes for 1 min, or until they start to jump around the pan and release their aromas. Add the oil and onion, and cook for 5 mins. Stir in the lentils, stock and tomatoes, then bring to the boil. Simmer for 15 mins until the lentils have softened.

Broccoli & Stilton Soup

2.Whizz the soup with a stick blender or in a food processor until it is a rough purée, pour back into the pan and add the chickpeas. Heat gently, season well and stir in the coriander. Finish with a dollop of yogurt and coriander leaves.

Method 1.Heat the oil in a large saucepan and then add the onions. Cook on a medium heat until soft. Add a splash of water if the onions start to catch. Add the celery, leek, potato and a knob of butter. Stir until melted, then cover with a lid. Allow to sweat for 5 minutes. Remove the lid. 2.Pour in the stock and add

any chunky bits of broccoli stalk. Cook until all the vegetables are soft. 3.Add the rest of the broccoli and cook for a further 5 minutes. Carefully transfer to a blender and blitz until smooth. Stir in the stilton, allowing a few lumps to remain. Season with black pepper and serve.

Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup Ingredients 25g dried porcini 50g butter 1 onion 1 garlic clove thyme sprigs 400g mixed wild mushrooms 850ml vegetable stock 200ml tub crème fraîche chives Method 1.Pour boiling the water over the dried porcini just to cover. Heat half the butter in a saucepan, then gently sizzle the onion, garlic and thyme for until softened. Drain the porcini, reserving the juice, then add to the onion with the mixed wild mushrooms. Leave to cook for 5 mins until they go limp.

2.Pour over the stock and the reserved juices, bring to the boil, then simmer for 20 mins. Stir in crème fraîche, then simmer for a few mins more. Blitz the soup with a hand blender or liquidiser, pass through a fine sieve, then set aside. 3.To serve, heat the soup and froth up with a hand blender, if you like.

New Movie Reviews Frozen Description

Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

Animation | Adventure | Comedy Release date: OUT NOW! Critics Reviews Blu-ray.com: “Stunning is the animation, which explores the Nordic setting with CG liveliness, exposing the glassy beauty of ice and the crunchy feel of a frosted wonderland. Character designs are also pleasingly elastic and expressive, finding Anna's restless behaviors amusing to watch. "Frozen" certainly has its charms, and those slavish to the Disney formula will walk away with a belly full of heartwarming resolutions and toe-tapping tunes.”

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Description

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem.

Action | Adventure | Sci-Fi Release date: OUT NOW! Critics Reviews Blu-ray.com: ““Catching Fire” ends with a set-up for the next sequel (due one year from now), and it’s an agreeable note of rage that promises a driven, no-holds-barred rise to power for Katniss. The foundation for such a guttural war cry is triumphantly established in this chapter, which improves considerably on the original movie, unearthing a tone of clenched-fist hostility that should easily funnel into the developing arc of turmoil, with the series finally finding a point of view worth following to the bitter end.”

Critics Reviews

The dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim Erebor, their homeland, from Smaug. Bilbo Baggins is in possession of a mysterious and magical ring.

Digital Spy: “Beyond a certain point, everything happening on screen feels like foreplay, killing time before the long-awaited reveal of the dragon. And when it comes, it's a triumph. Smaug is a more fully realised CGI villain than fans could have dared to hope for - articulate and paranoid and haughty and sardonic and very, very cunning, as completely Cumberbatch's performance as Gollum was Andy Serkis's. What's remarkable is that his sheer size on-screen doesn't undermine the sinister intimacy of his face-off with Bilbo, a genuinely thrilling scene that will carry a weird extra weight for fans of the BBC's Sherlock.”

Book Reviews Miracles and Massacres

by Glenn Beck

History is about so much more than memorizing facts. It is, as more than half of the word suggests, about the story. And, told in the right way, it is the greatest one ever written: Good and evil, triumph and tragedy, despicable acts of barbarism and courageous acts of heroism.

Cross My Heart

The things you’ve never learned about our past will shock you. The reason why gun control is so important to government elites can be found in a story about Athens that no one dares teach. Not the city in ancient Greece, but the one in 1946 Tennessee. The power of an

individual who trusts his gut can be found in the story of the man who stopped the twentieth hijacker from being part of 9/11. And a lesson on what happens when an all-powerful president is in need of positive headlines is revealed in a story about eight saboteurs who invaded America during World War II.

by James Patterson

Detective Alex Cross is a family man at heart--nothing matters more to him than his children, his grandmother, and his wife Bree. His love of his family is his anchor, and gives him the strength to confront evil in his work. One man knows this deeply, and uses Alex's strength as a weapon against him in the most unsettling and unex-

pected novel of James Patterson's career. When the ones Cross loves are in danger, he will do anything to protect them. If he does anything to protect them, they will die. CROSS MY HEART is the most powerful Alex Cross novel ever,

Now as leg-

endary as the artists it has housed and the countless creative collaborations it has sparked, the Chelsea has always stood as a mystery as well: Why and how did this hotel become the largest and longestlived artists’ community in the known world? Inside the Dream Palace is the intimate and definitive story.

Enthralled by Charles’s assurance and fame, Anne is certain the aviator has scarcely noticed her. But

she is wrong. Charles sees in Anne a kindred spirit, a fellow adventurer, and her world will be changed forever. The two marry in a headline-making wedding. In the years that follow, Anne becomes the first licensed female glider pilot in the United States. But despite this and other major achievements, she is viewed merely as the avia-

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calendar. The Chinese year 4712 begins on Jan. 31, 2014. Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest. In China, people may take weeks of holiday from work to prepare for and celebrate the New Year. An ancient Chinese legend tells of a maneating predatory beast called Nian, extremely fierce, with a long head and sharp horn. Nian dwelled deep in the sea the whole year long, but on every Chinese New Year eve it would climb onto the shore to devour livestock and harm humans in a near-by village. Therefore, every Chinese New Year's Eve, all the villagers would take their old and young deep into the mountains to hide from Nian. One Chinese New Year's Eve a grey haired man appeared in the village. He asked permission to stay for the night and assured everyone that he would chase away the beast. No one believed him. In addition, the old man steadfastly refused to go to the mountains to hide. Seeing that he could not be persuaded, the villagers departed without him. When the beast arrived at the village to wreck havoc as usual, it was met with a sudden burst of exploding firecrackers. Startled by the noise, the flashes of light and red banners flying about, it hastily turned and fled! The following day, as the people returned from the mountains, they found the village intact and safe. The old man had left, but they found the remains of the three precious items he had used to chase the beast Nian away. They all agreed that the old man must be a deity who had come to help free them of the beast. From then on, every Chinese New Year's Eve, families would hang red banners, set off fire crackers, and light their lamps the whole night through, awaiting the Chinese New Year. The custom spread

far and wide and became a grand traditional celebration of the "Passing of Nian" ("Nian" in Chinese means "year"). So celebrating the Chinese New Year should be called "passing of Nian" or "Guo Nian" in Chinese. The Lantern Festival In China, the New Year is a time of family reunion. Family members gather at each other's homes for visits and shared meals, most significantly a feast on New Year's Eve. In the United States, however, many early Chinese immigrants arrived without their families, and found a sense of community through neighborhood associations instead. Today, many Chinese-American neighborhood associations host banquets and other New Year events. The lantern festival is held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. Some of the lanterns may be works of art, painted with birds, animals, flowers, zodiac signs, and scenes from legend and history. People hang glowing lanterns in temples, and carry lanterns to an evening parade under the light of the full moon. In many areas the highlight of the lantern festival is the dragon dance. The dragon, which might stretch a hundred feet long, is typically made of silk, paper, and bamboo. Traditionally the dragon is held aloft by young men who dance as they guide the colorful beast through the streets. In the United States, where the New Year is celebrated with a shortened schedule, the dragon dance always takes place on a weekend. In addition, many Chinese-American communities have added American parade elements such as marching bands and floats. Fireworks and Family Feasts At Chinese New Year celebrations people wear red clothes, decorate with poems on red paper, and give children "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. The fireworks that shower the festivities are rooted in a similar ancient custom. Long ago, people in China lit bamboo stalks, believing that the crackling flames would frighten evil spirits.

The Story Of The Zodiacs Long ago, in China, the Jade Emperor decided there should be a way of measuring time. On his birthday he told the animals that there was to be a swimming race. The first twelve animals across the fast flowing river would be the winners and they would each have a year of the zodiac named after them.

you are one of the best swimmers?' asked the Jade Emperor. 'The water in the river was so clean that I had to have a bath on the way,' explained the dog. His reward was to have the eleventh year named after him.

All the animals lined up along the river bank. The rat and the cat, who were good friends, were worried because they were poor swimmers. Being clever they asked the strong ox if he would carry them across the river.

Now there was one place left in the zodiac and the Emperor wondered when the last winner would come. He had nearly given up when he heard a grunt from the boar. 'You took a long time to cross the river,' said the Emperor to the boar.

'Of course' said the kind ox. 'Just climb on my back and I will take you across.' The rat and the cat quickly jumped up and were very excited when the ox soon took the lead in the race. They had almost reached the other bank when the rat pushed the cat into the river leaving him to struggle in the water. Then just before the ox was about to win the race the rat leapt on his head and on to the bank to finish first. 'Well done,' said the Jade Emperor to the proud rat. 'The first year of the zodiac will be named after you.' The poor ox had been tricked into second place and the second year of the zodiac was named after him.

'I was hungry and stopped to eat,' explained the boar. 'After the meal I felt so tired that I fell asleep.' 'You have still done well,' said the Jade Emperor. 'The last year of the zodiac will be named after you.' The cat swimming to shore As for the cat who had been pushed into the water by the rat, he finally crawled out of the water but was too late to have a year named after him. He felt very cross with the rat and since then cats have never been friends with rats. From that day to this the Chinese Zodiac has followed this cycle of years named after these twelve animals.

Shortly after the exhausted tiger clawed his way to the river bank to claim third place. Swimming across the river had been an enormous struggle for him against the strong currents. The Emperor was so delighted with his efforts that he named the third year after him. Next to arrive was the rabbit, who hadn't swum across at all. He hopped across on some stepping stones and then found a floating log which carried him to the shore. 'I shall be very happy to call the fourth year after you,' the surprised Jade Emperor explained. Just then a kind dragon swooped down to take fifth place. 'Why didn’t you win the race, as you can fly as well as swim?' the Jade Emperor asked. 'I was held up because some people and animals needed water to drink. I needed to make some rain,' the dragon explained. 'Then when I was nearly here I saw a poor little rabbit on a log in the water and I blew a puff of wind so that the log would float to the river bank.' 'Well that was very kind of you and now you are here you will have the fifth year of the zodiac named after you.' The next thing the Jade Emperor heard was the sound of the horse’s hooves. Just as he was thinking the horse would be the next animal to arrive, a sneaky snake wriggled out from around one of the horse’s hooves. The horse was so surprised that he jumped backwards giving the snake a chance to take the sixth place in the race. The poor horse had to be satisfied with seventh place. The goat, monkey and rooster on the raft Not long afterwards a raft arrived carrying the goat, the monkey and the rooster. They explained to the Emperor how they had shared the raft that the rooster had found. The goat and monkey had cleared weeds and pushed the raft to the shore. The Emperor was very pleased that the animals had worked together. He said the goat would be the eighth zodiac animal, the monkey the ninth and the rooster the tenth. The next animal to finish was the dog. 'Why are you so late when

For all your home and business computer needs Welcome to this month’s computer article written by Richard from BlueMoon Solutions

Crypto Locker Virus - How to protect yourself Last time we looked at a new virus making the rounds called Crypto Locker. This virus is classed as ‘ransomware’ and not only locks you out of your computer, demanding money to let you access again, but also encrypts all of your important data so even asking/paying a computer tech to clear the virus won’t give you your data back!

backup then you should not be surprised if you lose your data at some point in the future. You can even pop along to our Tech Shop at the Moncayo market, every Saturday from 9am to 2pm to take advantage of our offer to back up your data for free if you buy a memory stick from us - again you can find more information at www.bluemoonsolutions.es/tech-shop

This is ‘yet’ another reason (if you should need one) to ensure that you back up your data, because if you don’t have your data backed up then the only way to get it back if you have been infected is to hand over money to the people behind the virus (not something I would recommend doing as they are clearly not the most reputable of folk!) You see, the problem is not the virus, which is quite simple to remove, the issue is that the virus encrypts all of your important files and so removing the virus won’t de-crypt the files!

So, what can you do to ‘harden’ the security on your computer? Well, this process will help prevent your computer from becoming infected, of course, it doesn’t mean that you should ignore my advice to do a backup. In order to increase the security on your computer you will need to make some changes to your computer set up (don’t worry it’s not that hard) to stop program’s from being able to run (or execute as we call it) from certain vulnerable folders or directories. In doing this you make your computer much more secure, however as a result you may experience problems running some software, but to be honest, better to have a few software issues than have all of your data lost, eh?

Anyway, I have scoured the Internet for information on this virus and have found a number of resources that will help protect your computer (and therefore your important data) and we are going to review the best one I found here. Firstly I should strongly say that you SHOULD have good backups of your data as this is the only way to ensure that you are fully protected from a whole range of problems that could happen to your computer - you can find articles on backup solutions on our website at www.bluemoonsolutions.es/articles - if you don’t have a

Ok, what you need to do is as follows... 1. _

e

Taurus 20 April - 20 May This time of the year is when your energy is back up, even though you might not be a fan of the continuing dark. Get out of the house more often to have fun because folks want to see more of you.

Cancer 22 June - 22 July You might be tempted to make sweeping changes this month, but think of this year as a marathon and not as a sprint. Stop and be still this month. You can still be poised to sprint, but don’t get out of the opening gate just yet.

b c

Leo 23 July - 22 August The more you think about your life, the more you wonder if you’re settling for something that’s easy. Though this is stable, you also want to check in to ensure you’re happy with where you’re at, versus just being content.

Libra 23 September - 23 October Right from the start, 2014 is going to be the time when a Libra can finally meet someone and connect with them. While you may not meet the love of your life immediately, you are certainly going to get a chance.

Scorpio 24 October - 21 November You will want to start off 2014 with a bang, Scorpio. You are already an intense person, but when you create solid intentions, you get all the more focused. Write out a list of things you WILL do this year, and then commit to yourself and to a loved one.

Sagittarius 22 November - 21 December As you move into the New Year, instead of focusing on what else you can do, look back at what you’ve already done. You tend to be someone who always looks forward, and now it’s time to congratulate yourself on the past.

g

Capricorn 22 December - 19 January

h

Aquarius 20 January - 18 February

Virgo 23 August - 22 September The beginning of the year is a fresh start for you. It’s time for you to think about happiness and about embracing the possibility that you don’t have to be sad all the time.

i

From the start of the year, you’ll notice you’re getting more responsibilities than every in your work. Some are asked for, some are not. To make sure you’re not drowning in work, make sure you speak up. The more you think about the past few years, the more you realize you have succeeded. You need to stop and think about these things more often, and give yourself credit where credit is due.

Pisces 19 February - 20 March During this year, you begin to realize what you need to do in order to fix an important relationship. Start immediately so this relationship can get the attention it needs and deserves.
