Spain is a surprise to those who have the image of having to fight for towel space at one of its crowded beaches or sipping sangria while watching a bull fight or flamenco. From the ancient monuments left by the Romans and Moors, the medieval castles of the interior, the white villages in inland Andalucía or the vibrant cities of Barcelona and Madrid, there is a great mixture of cultural attractions in Spain. The landscape varies just as widely. The evergreen estuaries of Galicia could hardly be more different from the deserts of Almería or the rugged mountains of the Sierra Nevada. And then there are the countless glittering beaches that dot the Spanish coast. Although busy in summer even along the coast of the big tourist Costas some enjoyable beaches can easily be found.

The Palacio Real (Royal Palace) of Madrid is the official residence of the King of Spain although it is only used for state ceremonies. The Royal Palace was built between 1738 to 1755 and King Carlos III took up residence in the palace in 1764.
Protected from strong winds by steep cliffs and islands, La Concha in San Sebastian is said by many to be one of the best city beaches in Europe, let alone Spain. Here you can go surfing, walk along the promenade in search of good restaurants and enjoy the beautiful views of the beach.

Pamplona is a city in Navarra, famous for its San Fermín festival held each year from July 6th – 14th. At the heart of the festival is El Encierro, the Running of the Bulls, an activity that involves running in front of a dozen bulls that have been let loose, on a course of the town’s streets.
The Aqueduct of Segovia is one of the best-preserved monuments left by the Romans in Spain. The ancient aqueduct carries water 16 km (10 miles) from the Frío River to Segovia and was built of some 24,000 massive granite blocks without the use of mortar. Probably constructed around 50 AD it still provided water to the city in the 20th century.

Nestled in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, El Escorial was the political center of the Spanish empire under King Philip II. Philip appointed Juan Bautista de Toledo as the architect in 1559 and together they designed El Escorial as a monument to Spain’s role as a center of the Christian world. Today it functions as a monastery, royal palace, museum, and school.
Situated between Madrid and Valencia, Cuenca is a marvelous example of a medieval city, built on the steep sides of a mountain. The many “hanging houses” are built right up to the cliff edge, making Cuenca one of the most striking towns in Spain, a gem in the province of Castilla La Mancha.
5. Ibiza Ibiza is one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Spain. The island is one of the most popular party destinations in all of Europe. During summer, the island’s population doubles as tourists flock to Ibiza to enjoy the night clubs, beach bars and restaurants.
2. Mezquita of Cordoba The Mezquita (Spanish for “Mosque”) of Cordoba is a fascinating building famous for the forest of pillars and arches inside the main hall. The site was originally a Roman temple, then a Visigothic church, before the Umayyad Moors built the Mezquita. After the Spanish Reconquista a cathedral was built into the center of the large Moorish building.

The palace was constructed in the 14th century by the Nasrid sultans. The Alhambra is now one of Spain’s major tourist attractions and many visitors come to Granada just to see the Alhambra.
4. Sagrada Familia The Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, and one of Spain’s most visited tourist attractions. It’s a design by Antoni Gaudí, a Catalan architect who worked on this project for almost 40 years until his death in 1926. The construction of the basilica began in 1882 and still as yet not finished.

What to do in case of a car accident in Spain Although we try to avoid car accidents by driving safely and know that it is much better not to get involved in an accident at all, you may be wondering, what should I do if I'm ever involved in a car accident? Well, in this article, we will discuss the top 10 things that you should do if you're ever involved in a car accident. So, sit back, relax and get ready to learn! 1. Remain calm and stay put for a moment to assess the situation. First and foremost, remain calm. Put on your reflective jacket, put on your hazard lights and set out the emergency triangles. Although you may be feeling tense, excited, upset or all three emotions, the absolute worst thing that you can do is flee from the scene. Yes, it might feel tempting to drive away but fleeing from the scene of the incident is never a good idea and may bring harsh penalties. Instead, you should remain where you are, stay calm and by all means, DO NOT FREAK OUT. By maintaining a calm and focused, you'll remain in control and will be able to provide key information. 2. Don't admit fault. Even if you believe that the accident was your fault, you should never, ever admit fault to anyone other than your insurance agent or your lawyer. Never discuss your feelings with the other involved party and never agree to pay for any damages. Instead, don't discuss it at all and remember that anything you say can and will most likely be utilized against you. Many people wrongly admit fault because they get so caught up in the emotion of being in an accident that they blurt out fault without thinking or evaluating the facts. They get caught up in the moment and don't have time to process the incident. As a result, they end up making an untrue statement based on emotions that adversely affects their case. Instead, they should take some time to evaluate the facts, discuss the issue with their lawyer and then make a “fault based determination." 3. Move out of the way. If your car is located in a high traffic area, you should move out of the road of traffic. By moving your car, you may be able to avoid another accident. The only exception to this is if your car is so badly damaged that it can't be moved. If that is the case, simply leave it where it is until you have assistance. 4. Check out your passengers. Check to see if anyone needs medical attention. If they do, seek medical assistance immediately by calling 112 and asking for “Policia y Ambulancia”. Explain the situation and give the exact location of the accident. Act quickly and calmly because you have no time to waste. Time is of the essence in getting the required care for the injured person(s). If you're trained in first aid then implement medical procedures. Just remember to never move someone who is badly hurt (unless you believe that moving them might prevent further injuries). 5. Warn other motorists. Warn other motorists that the accident has occurred. This can be accomplished by placing emergency triangles on the road or turning on your car's hazard lights. If you are able too move away stand on the edge of the road preferably behind the crash barrier. 6. Report the accident. Contact the police on 112 immediately to report the accident. When you reach them, remain calm and ask to speak in “Ingles” clearly. Tell them exactly where you're located so that they can find you. They'll likely inform you whether they'll be sending an officer or whether you'll
be required to meet them at the police station to file a police report. If the accident involves another vehicle, fill out the blue declaration of accident form and have it signed by both drivers, so each of you have a copy of the same form. Take down registration numbers, names and addresses of the drivers and make photos with your mobile phone if possible. 7. Contact insurance company. After you contact the police and have a police report, contact your insurance company to report the claim within 7 days. Many policies require this step to approve of your claim and may deny it if you don't call in a timely manner. When you talk to your claim representative, be prepared to give them detailed information about the accident. 8. Exchange vital information. Make sure that you obtain the other driver´s name, address, phone number, date of birth, driver's license numbers of driver and witnesses, insurance company information and policy numbers. Also jot down the make of their car, year, model, colour, registration number. Lastly, write down any names and addresses of all witnesses. 9.Draw a detailed diagram. Draw a detailed diagram of the accident which includes a picture of both cars before, and after the accident – there is a place to do this on the blue declaration of accident form. In addition, if you notice any skid marks, lights, stop signs, etc., make sure that you include them as well. Lastly, if you have a camera or picture phone, make sure that you take photographs because these may be used as evidence. 10. Fill out a police report. Next, take your time when filling out the police report. Be as accurate and truthful as you can and provide the police with all requested information. Write clearly and be as detailed as you possibly can. In conclusion, no one wants to be involved in a car accident. However, if you are involved in one, you don't have to panic. Instead, you should remain calm and don't drive away. Stay put, don't admit fault, move away from oncoming traffic, evaluate your passengers, warn other motorists, report the accident to police, contact insurance company, exchange vital information, draw a detailed diagram and fill out a police report. By doing this, you'll improve upon a very difficult situation and provide invaluable aid when it is needed the most. DIY BANANA FACE MASK Great for oily skin. Ingredients: 1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer. Let it thaw before using) 1 tbsp honey An orange or a lemon
Blingy Wine Glasses
Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth.
Preparation: Mix the banana and honey together. Add a few drops of juice from an orange or a lemon.
Update your boring wine glasses by adding some jewels and beads. Use superglue to carefully stick each piece on and leave to dry for 3 hours. Remember not to put these in the dishwasher and only hand wash.
Uses for Tea Tree Oil 1. To create an all-purpose cleaner, combine 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil in 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. 2. Another version would be 14 ounces of water with 1 ounce of Murphy’s oil soap and 10 drops of tea tree oil. 3. Mix the above solution with kosher salt to scrub bathtub and bathroom tiles. 4. Add a few drops to dishwasher dis-

Often when we wake up we fail to remember even a single sequence of the dream we had during the night. A strange fact remains therefore, that dreams are almost always forgotten, except if a person is woken up at the REM stage.

Cheese and Chilli Nachos
Chicken Fajitas
Ingredients 1 pack 200g tortilla chips 230g pot of salsa 335g cherry tomatoes 2 spring onions 100g grated cheddar & mozarella cheese Crushed chillies
Method 1. Heat olive oil in a large pan. 2. Fry the chicken and quickly brown all over. 3. Add the chilli powder and cook for 1 min. 4. Transfer the chicken onto a plate and in the same pan cook the onion and red pepper until softened. 5. Add the green beans, tomatoes and the chicken, cover and simmer for 15 mins. 6. Stir in the coriander and roll in warm tortillas. 7. Serve with sour cream and guacamole.
Method 1.Preheat the oven to 200°C/392°F/Gas Mark 6. 2.Put 1⁄2 x 200g pack tortilla chips into an ovenproof dish and layer with 1⁄2 x 230g pot salsa, 1⁄2 x 335g pack cherry tomatoes, halved, 2 sliced spring onions, 100g grated cheeser and a sprinkling of crushed chillies. 3.Repeat this process and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese begins to melt. Remove and sprinkle with another chopped spring onion.
Healthy Spicy Beef Tacos Ingredients 1tbsp rapeseed oil 400g lean beef mince 1 medium onion, finely chopped 1 green pepper, finely chopped 5tbsp HP Guinness sauce 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 400g can chopped tomatoes
1 low-salt beef stock cube 3/4tsp hot chilli powder 1tbsp paprika 11/2 tsp ground coriander 4 small iceberg lettuce leaves, shredded 8 corn taco shells 1 ripe avocado, finely chopped 2 ripe small tomatoes, finely chopped
Chicken Enchiladas Ingredients (Serves 8) 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 1/2 pounds skinless boneless chicken breast Salt and pepper 2 teaspoons cumin powder 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon Mexican Spice Blend 1 red onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup frozen corn, thawed 5 canned whole green chiles, seeded and coarsely chopped
4 canned chipotle chiles, seeded and minced 1 (28-ounce) can stewed tomatoes 1/2 teaspoon all-purpose flour 16 corn tortillas 1 1/2 cups enchilada sauce, canned 1 cup shredded Cheddar and Jack cheeses Garnish: chopped cilantro leaves, chopped scallions, sour cream, chopped tomatoes

Pull chicken breasts apart by hand into shredded strips. Add shredded chicken to saute pan, combine with vegetables. Dust the mixture with flour to help set.
Ingriedients 4 flour tortillas 2tbsp olive oil 2 skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips 2tbsp hot chilli powder 1 onion, halved and sliced 1 red pepper,
add the onions and peppers and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. 3.Crumble in the stock cube, then stir in the Guinness sauce, garlic, canned tomatoes, chilli powder, paprika, coriander and 200ml water. Gently boil for 1012 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. 4.Place some lettuce in the bottom of each taco shell. Fill each with mince and top with avocado and tomato, and serve immediately. 4. Microwave tortillas on high for 30 seconds. Coat the bottom of 2 (13 by 9-inch) pans with a ladle of enchilada sauce. Using a large shallow bowl, dip each tortilla in enchilada sauce to lightly coat. Spoon 1/4 cup chicken mixture in each tortilla. Fold over filling, place 8 enchiladas in each pan with seam side down. Top with remaining enchilada sauce and cheese. 5. Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated 180 degree F oven until cheese melts. Garnish with cilantro, scallion, sour cream and chopped tomatoes before serving. Serve with Spanish rice and beans.

Easy Guacamole Ingredients 2 halved and stoned ripe avocados Juice of 2 limes 1 peeled and roughly chopped small onion 1 deseeded and roughly chopped large ripe tomato 15g (½oz) roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves 1-2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce Seasoning to taste
Method 1. Scoop the flesh from avocados into a large bowl. Add the juice of limes and mash it, using a fork or a potato masher. 2. Add the onion, tomato, coriander leaves, Tabasco sauce and seasoning, and mix well. (Use a stick blender or a food processor to whizz the ingredients to a coarse texture for extra speed.) 3. Use within 24 hours

Chilli Con Carne Ingredients 2 tbsp olive oil 2 onions, chopped 2 garlic cloves, crushed 1kg/2¼lb lean beef mince 250ml/9fl oz red wine 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes 3 tbsp tomato purée 2 red chillies, thinly sliced, or 3-4 tsp dried chilli flakes 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp ground coriander 1 stick cinnamon good shake of Worcestershire sauce 1 beef stock cube salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 x 400g can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained 1 large bunch coriander leaves, roughly chopped wedges of lime, to serve
Ingredients 350g/12oz green chillies 350g/12oz plum tomatoes, chopped 1 medium red onion, diced 3 garlic cloves, chopped ¼ tsp ground cumin salt freshly ground black pepper
Method 1. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add onion, chillies, seasoning and cumin, cook for 2-3 minutes. 2. Add the peppers and sausages, and brown lightly on all sides. 3. Add can of tomatoes, red kidney beans and passatta, stir well. Bring to the boil, turn down to simmer and cover with a lid. 4.Gently simmer for about 30 minutes. 5. Serve with rice, guacamole and Mexican snacks.
Mexican Chicken with Potatoes Ingredients 1tbsp olive oil 4 skinless chicken breasts, diced 1 onion, diced 750g potatoes, diced 1 red pepper, diced 2tsp tomato and chilli
Method 1. Place chillies in a roasting tray and roast at 220C/425F/Gas 7 for 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of chillies. 2. They should be blackened on the outside and soft to the touch. 3. Remove any black skin from the chillies and pass through a fine sieve. 4. Fold together with the tomatoes, garlic, onion, and cumin.
Method 1. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan with a lid and fry the onion and garlic until softened. Increase the heat and add the mince, cooking quickly until browned and breaking down any chunks of meat with a wooden spoon. 2. Pour in the red wine and boil for 2-3 minutes. 3. Stir in the tinned tomatoes, tomato purée, fresh chilli or chilli flakes, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and Worcestershire sauce and crumble in the stock cube. Season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Bring to a simmer, cover with a lid and cook over a gentle heat for about 50 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally until the mixture is rich and thickened. 4. Add the kidney beans and fresh coriander. Cook for a further ten minutes, uncovered, before removing from the heat, adding any extra seasoning if necessary. Serve with rice, guacamole, sour cream and a big green salad.
Method 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mark 6). 2. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan and fry the chicken, onion and potato for 5 mins. 3. Add the remaining ingredients to 150ml water. Bring to the boil and transfer to a casserole dish. Add the
chicken, onion and paste mixture. 4. Cover and bake for 45 mins, stirring half way through or until potatoes are tender and chicken is cooked throughout. 5. Serve with chopped coriander, soured cream and corn tortillas.
Huevos Rancheros Ingredients 3 kale leaves, finely chopped 1 onion, finely chopped 1 green pepper, finely chopped 1 red pepper, finely chopped 1 small bird's eye chilli, finely chopped 1 courgette, finely chopped 1 garlic clove, finely chopped salt and freshly ground black pepper 150ml/5fl oz tomato passata 1 tbsp olive oil knob of butter 8 free-range eggs (2 eggs per person) To serve handful fresh coriander leaves 2 soft flour / corn tortillas, warmed in the oven hot chilli sauce
Method 1. To make the salsa, place the kale, onion, peppers, chilli, courgette, garlic and passata into a bowl. Season, to taste, with salt and freshly ground black pepper and mix well. 2. Heat the oil in a medium frying pan with a lid over a medium heat and add a quarter of the salsa. Stir to warm through, then make a whole in the middle of the salsa. Place the butter in the clear area in the middle of the
pan, then break two eggs into this space. 3. Place the lid onto the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes. The dish is ready when the eggs are cooked into the salsa and the whites are firm. Slide the eggs and salsa onto a large plate and keep warm as you repeat this process three more times. 4. To serve, sprinkle each dish with coriander leaves and serve the warm tortillas and chilli sauce alongside.

Purslane Basic Information

The scientific name for this plant is Portulaca Oleracea however, it is more commonly known as Baby’s Pillow or Moss Rose. Originating in Argentina and Brazil it was brought to Europe around 1820. It is an annual plant which rarely grows more than 15 to 20 centimeters in height and around 30 to 40 centimetersin diameter. It is a creeper with stalks and fleshy leaves. After germinating in the late spring or early summer stalks grow which branch off horizontally along the ground. These branches are course and red in colour ending in green, spatula shaped leaves. The plant flowers abundantly in summer with a splash of colour, red, yellow, orange or white. It is ideal as a ground covering plant but also suits hanging baskets or pots. It grows well in bright sunlight and its flowers close when not bathed in sunlight and reopen the following day.Abundant watering is recommended when the plant is flowering profusely in summer and less so in spring and autumn. In summer the purslane makes an excellent ornamental plant, well suited to the Mediter-

The name Kuro means black in Japanese, SO" note the black door mirrors, dark gunmetal 17inch alloy wheels and the folding hardtop on the Roadster is Coupe, yes black. The Kuro also gets a new diffuser style rear sports bumper, swollen sports exhaust, and visiual details like unique 'race car inspired' exterior graphics, black front grille and front fog lights surround, plus unique ‘Kuro Edition’ badging. Red stitched leather seats, British top-down motoring; there's also alloy pedals, snazzy floor matts, and climate control as standard. Available as the 1.8i soft-top or as a 2.0i hard top coupe version. Print your own art... I’ve recently bought an SLR camera and of course I have been taking pictures of anything that moves - and most things that don’t! Over a very short period of time I have managed to build up quite a large collection of some very badly taken pictures, however, hidden in the dross are a couple of gems; coincidences of good subject matter happening at the same time as the correct settings being loaded on the camera – certainly nothing to do with my skill anyway! So it’s these pictures I have recently wanted to print and place somewhere in the house, but how best to do it? Ok, I could print them at high quality on some decent photo paper, but then the image just looks like a photograph and I was looking for something more like a painting. I know that I could spend ages in PhotoShop or even ask friends who are more proficient at it than me (listen, you can’t be good at everything!) to produce something closer to a painting, but that would take up too much precious time and as my dive instructor Dave would say, that would eat into “beer time” – no I needed a simpler solution. The answer must be online, so I turned to Google to help me. I first searched for “canvas printing” and was pleased to find a whole host of really good websites dedicated to printing your photos onto framed canvas,

sites like www.yourimage2canvas.co.uk and www.photocanvasprinting.com and whilst the prices and ease of use of the website were fantastic, they seemed only to deliver to the UK and Ireland which, of course, was a problem. I then decided to search for “foto en lienzo” (photo on canvas) to see whether there were any similar sites that cater for the Spanish

The website allowed me to upload my own picture, decide what size I wanted it to be printed, choose a frame and even choose how the sides of the picture should be wrapped around the frame. The site then allowed me to change the picture by adding an effect (just what I wanted as they offered an oil painting effect). The site also offers printing onto aluminium or acrylic or just mounted into a standard frame, there really are a good deal of options available. Once designed I confirmed my address and payment details and I am reliably informed that my artwork is winging its way towards me – all for less than 50 euros delivered to my door – not bad really! They even offer free delivery by UPS for orders over 75 euros!

You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay". Thanks - A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say "You're welcome".

Dumb..but true!
British firefighters say they saved an apartment from destruction after its domestically challenged resident tried to dry his wet socks and underwear in a microwave oven. The Dorset Fire and Rescue Service says firefighters rescued the man from his home and extinguished the kitchen blaze Monday.
The fire destroyed the appliance along with the two pairs of underwear and socks inside it, and caused smoke damage to the apartment in Weymouth, a town on England's southwest coast. "The fire safety message here is to never put clothing of any kind in the microwave or an oven to attempt to dry them," the Dorset firefighters said in a statement.
Austin Sparks may not be a good criminal, but he shows signs of being a good human being. After breaking into five cars and stealing a Ford F-250 truck, Sparks, 20, felt so guilty about what he had done that he drove the stolen truck to police headquarters in Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and turned himself in to authorities, UPI.com reported. "He walked in and told me that he had just stolen a car and it's parked out front," Kinnie Long, a clerk at the station told The Tennessean. "It was shocking. He even stated that he felt bad for what he had done."
Sgt. Tyler Chandler not only appreciated Sparks' honesty after the fact, but that he drove the truck to the station and parked it outside. "It saved a lot of resources, it saved a lot of time for the victims, they'll get their stuff back," Chandler told WTVF-TV. "I can't remember anytime that that has happened." Sparks has been booked into the Wilson County jail, where he is being held for Mt. Pleasant authorities. All of the stolen items -which include at least one Blackberry - will be returned to their owners.
Ohio woman Tamala Grissett, 29, was charged with obstructing official business after she allegedly faked labor pains to avoid arrest, WKRC reports. Police originally tracked Grissett down after she reportedly swiped $1,297 in goods from a local Macy's, according to Fox-19. When they attempted to make the arrest, officers say the woman gave them a fake driver's license. After police succeeded in confirming her real identity, Gris-
sett allegedly threatened to kill one of the officers and file a false abuse complaint against him. When the officers were not deterred from making the arrest, the suspect told them she was in pain and experiencing pregnancy complications. Police transported Grissett to a nearby hospital, but once there, she made a run for it. Cops soon recaptured her and booked her into the Hamilton County Justice Center.
