Fest of Tails returns on Saturday Giant, high-flying kites, Frisbee-catching canines and a day of dog-friendly activities are coming to Cross Creek Ranch on Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. as the Fulshear community hosts the return of Fest of Tails. The third annual event is free and begins at 11 a.m. when professional kite fliers from Kites Unlimited fill the skies with giant, animal-shaped kites. Kids of all ages can join the pros by launching free kites available at the festival while supplies last. Tails of a different kind will take center stage at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. when the Houston Disc Dogs perform their high-flying, Frisbee-catching acts and amazing tricks. Fest of Tails also will feature a Furry Friends Photo Booth, a canine talent show and control-

While at the festival, families can enjoy food from local vendors, pet-friendly retail vendors, live music, carnival games and rides, face painting, train rides and a rock wall. Owners and their pets can participate in the doggie fashion show parade or look-alike contest. Plus, families can make a friend for life by adopting a vaccinated and spayed or neutered pup.
