applause for their song Saldana said. Armando Saldana from the City of Mercedes wrote the song “Dime” twenty years ago for his Nuevo Barrio Tejano band. Also a musician, his stage name is the Kid Zapper when he performs rock and roll music with his band called the Rocking Zappers. Eskala's lead singer, Silvia Moreno, caught a Kid Zapper show in Weslaco at the Paradise Roadhouse Bar and Grill and their meeting opened the door to the Zapper’s roots as a Tejano musician. After Silvia explained that her band was working on recording their album and needed originals songs the Kid Zapper just let her know that she was talking to the right guy. The long time songwriter who specializes in blues, pop, rock and love songs. Zapper suggested Eskala
add "Dime" to their set list for their new album and everything changed since then. "They did a good job with the song, Saldana said. "It is simple and catchy and the meaning of the song is about life and about some one involve with some one that does not love them back and about a person expressing their love for another." The Zapper said the song has been getting airplay on radio satiation in Chicago, Miami, New York, Colorado, North Texas and now it's being played on 102.1 in the valley. Saldana said the chorus is a true story of himself professing his love for his grandmother and that the lyrics are about him and the song was written twenty years ago and Elida Reyna first performed the song in the 80's." it’s stamp to the song and it’s no wonder why “Dime” has been beating out Tejano’s big name artists. Twenty years later he gave the song to Silvia Moreno the lead singer of Eskala and she recorded and it went up to the top. He attributes his talent to his father, Armando G. Saldana, who also composed music and played the trumpet and the piano. "I’ve been writing songs for a long time and I fatally got a number one hit song," Armando Saldana said. "It was number one for six weeks in a row and it was in the top ten for three months." They have already started working on another song written by the kid zapper. They are working on the second album that will be all original music.
