CITY OF LA FERIA ADVERTISEMENT and INVITATION TO BID The City of La Feria will receive Competitive Sealed Bids for the Motor Control Center (MCC) until Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 115 E. Commercial Ave., La Feria, TX 78559 (City Hall). The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 8, 2016. Project will consist of: Replacing an existing 1970 Square D Motor Control Center by installing a new Motor Control Center (Square D equipment preferred) adjacent to the existing unit, including but not limited to cabinet, switchgear, conduits, wiring, etc. all complete in place. The Texas Water Development Board's (TWDB) Drinking Water State Revolving Fund programs receive federal funds from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). As a condition of federal grant awards, this contract is subject to the EPA “fair share goals” for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), and Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE) firms in the construction, supplies, equipment, and services procurement categories. EPA’s policy requires that applicants and prime contractors make a good faith effort to award a fair share of contracts, subcontracts, and procurements to MBE and WBE owned firms. Although EPA’s policy does not mandate that the fair share goals be achieved, it does require applicants and prime contractors to demonstrate use of the six affirmative steps. Note MBE/WBE contract percentages for the following: Construction: 12.94%/8.72%; Supplies: 9.68%/9.34%; Equipment: 7.12%/5.39%; Services: 10.84%/5.72%.
