Mom’s Raised Doughnuts

What You Need 1/2 c water, warm (not hot) 2 pkg active dry yeast 3/4 c milk, lukewarm 1/4 c plus 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt F DOO SXUSRVH Ă RXU VLIWHG 1/3 c shortening 2 eggs GLAZE 1 tbsp water, warm (may need more to thin, but thicker is better) 1/2 tsp vanilla F FRQIHFWLRQHUV VXJDU VLIWHG

Place in lightly greased bowl. *UHDVH WRS RI GRXJK DQG FRYHU ZLWK waxed paper. Allow to rise in warm place until doubled (1-1/2 hrs). • Roll out dough to 1/2 in thickness and cut with round cutters. • Let rise on the board until very light (40-60 min). ‡ 'URS LQWR GHHS KRW IDW ƒ ƒ DQG Directions turn when doughnuts are just barely • Soak yeast in 1/2 c warm (not brown. Turn once again when browned hot) water (5 min). Add 1 tsp VXIĂ€FLHQWO\ sugar to activate yeast. • Drain on absorbent paper. • Scald milk and melt shortening. • While still warm, drizzle with glaze. • Pour milk over sugar and salt • Can also dust with granulated or in a bowl. The Town of Combes, Texas, is seeking to contract with: (1) A registered firm or individual qualified to provide engineering services required by the locality for the implementation of a project to be carried out with assistance from a Texas Capital Fund grant from the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture; (2) A professional firm or individual certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture to provide management services required by the locality for the implementation of a project to be carried out with assistance from a Texas Capital Fund grant from the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Proponents must have a 2015 TxCDBG Program Administrator Certification. The proposed project will be financed with federal funds from a Texas Capital Fund grant that may be awarded to the Town of Combes by the Texas Department of Agriculture under its Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) Program. Funding for this project has not yet been received; a contract for these services is contingent upon the award of a Texas Capital Fund grant to the Town of Combes.

In order to be considered, proposals must be received prior to 4:30 PM on January 14, 2016. Complete Requests for Proposals have been prepared for this purpose; those outline the services required by the locality, submission requirements, and evaluation criteria. Interested parties may obtain copies of the Requests for Proposals by contacting the Town of Combes by telephone at (956) 425-7131, or by mail addressed to the Office of the Mayor, Town of Combes, P. O. Box 280, Combes, TX 78535. The town reserves the right to negotiate with any and all individuals or firms submitting proposals, in accordance with the Texas Professional Services Procurement Act and the Uniform Grant and Contract Management Standards Act.
