A top Ukrainian authority said on Friday that upwards of 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since the Russian attack began in February, however others have put the figure a lot higher. According to Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, official evaluations conducted by the president and general staff indicated that between 10,000 and 13,000 soldiers had died defending the country against Russia. However, US General Mark Milley stated last month that 100,000 Russian and 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed since the war began. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, appeared to back up Milley's figures in a statement on Wednesday before retracting her claim that that was the number of people killed and injured. Zelensky will speak on the figures himself, according to Podolyak, "when the right moment comes." Yaroslav Yanushevych, governor of the Kherson region, said that Russian shelling had killed three people and injured seven over the past 24 hours on the battlefield. He claimed that Moscow's troops struck the region 42 times. Some disabled people from Russian-controlled Kakhovka along the eastern bank of the Dnieper River will begin to be evacuated, according to officials appointed by Moscow in the southern Kherson region.

Ukrainian embassies in Europe receive parcels containing animal eyes After a letter bomb exploded and injured an employee at the Spanish embassy of the war-torn nation, packages containing animal eyes were sent to eight Ukrainian embassies in the following days. Ukrainian embassies in Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic received packages. Vandals also damaged the Ukrainian ambassador's entrance to the Vatican residence. A letter with a copy of a negative article was sent to the Ukrainian embassy in the United States. In a statement that was published on the website of the foreign ministry, Dmytro Kuleba, the minister of foreign affairs, stated that the packages "were soaked in a liquid of characteristic color and had a corresponding smell." "A well-planned campaign of terror and intimidation of embassies and consulates of Ukraine," Kuleba referred to the occurrences. "Someone is attempting to intimidate us because we are unable to stop Ukraine on the diplomatic front. But I can tell you right away that these attempts are pointless. Kubela stated, "We will continue to work for Ukraine's victory." A parcel exploded in the hands of a worker at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid on Wednesday, causing injury, and the headquarters of the Spanish defense company Instalaza intercepted a "suspicious postal shipment." On Thursday, letters containing explosives were delivered to the defense ministry, and another suspicious package was delivered to the U.S. embassy at an air base outside of Madrid. Rafael Perez, the Deputy Interior Minister of Spain, stated, "There are signs that indicate that the letters came from Spanish territory, but I insist we must be prudent."
