At least ten people, including five children, were killed in a fire in an apartment building on Friday in Vaulx-en-Velin, France. At 3:25 a.m., 65 fire trucks and 170 firefighters responded, and by 6:30 a.m., the fire was out. Vaulx-en-Velin Mayor Hélène Geoffroy tweeted: Following the terrible incident that occurred last night, our city is in mourning. My deepest sympathies go out to the victims' families." According to her, the city has fully mobilized to assist families. The "terrible fire in Vaulx-en-Velin" victims' loved ones received condolences from French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin via tweet. "Provisional toll stands at 10 people dead, including 5 children," Darmanin tweeted. A suburb of Lyon is Vaulx-en-Velin. There were injuries to 14 people, including two firefighters. The fire's cause is still unknown. The fire could have been caused by a criminal act, which is still under investigation by the regional prosecutor's office. Darmanin told correspondents Friday that "dealers," a term used to portray street pharmacists, were captured at the apartment complex a few hours before the fire. However, he stated that it is still premature to conclude that the fire is associated with those arrests.

Technology one step ahead again, Korea up to build autonomous outdoor robots On Friday, the telecom giant KT of South Korea announced that it will collaborate with a local robotics company called Neubility to develop autonomous mobile robots. The agreement stipulates that Neubility will contribute software and hardware, while KT will provide the know-how for the robotics platform and wireless network. Neubility, which was established in 2017, has been successful in developing affordable robotics, such as camera-based autonomous driving robots that can function without costly lidar sensors. A self-driving delivery robot dubbed "Neubi" has been developed by a startup based in Seoul, compiling data and improving the autonomous navigation system along the way. It is anticipated that autonomous mobile robots will take over services like lastmile delivery, urban cleaning, and even some hospitality functions. As demand rises for doorstep deliveries that do not require human drivers, delivery robots, in particular, are anticipated to see the most rapid commercialization. As per U.S. business tracker Partnered Statistical surveying, the worldwide conveyance robot market could develop from $3.53 billion out of 2020 to $30.05 billion by 2030, enrolling a yearly development pace of 24.5%. Lee Sang-ho, head of KT's AI robotics business division, stated, "It's a great opportunity for Neubility, the company with an advantage in autonomous driving technology and related data." He stated, "The collaboration will enable us to create a new type of robot that businesses require in everyday outdoor settings." On the South Korean stock exchange, the price of KT shares decreased by 0.95 percent on Friday. Neubility has not yet been made public.
