Firstly, we would like to take the time to thank you all for your continued support which contributed to a very successful 2015 and to extend seasons greetings and good wishes for a prosperous 2016. The film excellence continues! We kick off the New Year with our old family favourite Paddington in the matinee slot; with James Bond back for another screening in the evening. The eagerly awaited Suffragette follows (n.b. the January performances are nearly sold out - but there is still another chance to catch it in February). Incredible acting from Cate Blanchette and Rooney Mara makes Carol a must see, and you wont want to miss the concluding episode of the Hunger Games series. Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance wrap-up a mouth-watering January in the Bridge of Spies. The Force awakens in February with: four screenings of the much talked about new Star Wars film; and The Good Dinosaur, the brilliant new animation from Disney, is our Children’s Saturday Matinee. As mentioned previously, if you missed out on Spectre, Suffragette or even Brooklyn we have additional screenings during the month. Selling fast is Maggie Smith in Alan Bennett’s The Lady in the Van; followed by Eddie Redmayne transformed in the Danish Girl, fittingly coinciding with LGBT history month. Kate Winslet in the wonderful Dressmaker concludes yet another varied and entertaining programme here at the Picture Palace.
