Word from the Royston Picture Palace
As always, we are excited to bring you the very best in film entertainment, with another diverse programme. The two opening weekends in February kick off not so much in the Town Hall but more in a ‘Galaxy Far Far Away’! The latest in the epic Star Wars franchise, The Force Awakens, is also our March children’s matinee. You and your family won’t want to miss out on one of the best big screen experiences of all time. Also on the first weekend, our February children’s matinee is Disney’s exquisite The Good Dinosaur. Elsewhere during the month there are also chances to again catch Suffragette and Spectre as well as Oscar nominated Brooklyn on Valentine’s day. Dame Maggie Smith stars in Alan Bennett’s The Lady in the Van over four screenings - with the brilliant Kate Winslet sure to entertain you in The Dressmaker. Moving into March we make a splash with Ron Howard’s adaptation of the Moby Dick story with Chris Hemsworth starring in The Heart of the Sea. The cinema is then closed for a week to aid a smooth transition to a new Box Office system. We finish the month in style with Oscar nominated films Joy (which earned lead Actress Jennifer Lawrence her fourth nomination in five years on the back of her Golden Globe win) and the compelling Spotlight. Due to circumstances outside our control, we will be changing to a new Box Office system during March. Consequently, the Royston Picture Palace will be closed on Friday March 11th and Saturday March 12th to facilitate an orderly transition to the new system. April’s films will only be available for booking through the new Box Office. (At least, technology willing, that’s the plan!) The Cinema will also be closed on Good Friday 25th March
