Welcome to the Royston Picture Palace A warm welcome once again to The Royston Picture Palace, we trust that you are enjoying the Summer so far. Once again we have a great programme of films for this our August and September flyer. Whit Stillman’s hilarious adaptation of Jane Austen’s novella Love and Friendship kicks us off in style, and then the humour continues with another chance to see Meryl Streep in Florence Foster Jenkins, with another Hollywood legend leading the way in A Hologram for a King. Oscar Winner Son of Saul is our hard hitting Thoughtful Thursday film for August, with Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey as you have never seen them before up next in Elvis &
Nixon.
To coincide with the ongoing Olympics we bring you Race, the story of Jessie Owens, with those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming out of the shadows for the matinee that Saturday. We have two helpings of the nutty Absolutely Fabulous – The Movie sweetie darlings across the Bank Holiday weekend, with The Secret Life of Pets for the children, our extra matinee. Moving into September, if you can believe it Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe ham it up in The Nice Guys, with The BFG the matinee on both the Saturday and Sunday. Independence Day: our explosive blockbuster on the Saturday night. The Hard Stop including a Panel Discussion is our Thoughtful Thursday film for September with Now You See Me 2 and the classic The Elephant Man our contribution to the Royston Arts Festival, the Festival taking place on the weekend of 23/24 September, when the cinema is closed, the fifth installment of Jason Bourne wrapping up another action packed month at RPP.
